Don't forget we are starting 1 non-import on D. I expect a much better D with that ratio.
Two offseasons we have changed personnel on D and the result has been the same. It boils down to scheme.

On the one hand, 1-2 with a backup QB and us within range of BC/SASK and the crossover is comforting but the same old, same old with the D is maddening.

Gotta give Hamilton some credit, I think they are one of the top teams in the league this year.
We all know Hall's D is just awful, nothing else to add there...
Lapo called a terrible game. As he does so often, he out coached himself. Probably could have used more Harris early on in the game.
Streveler has some tools, and has looked like our best backup in a long time, but he still has a long way to go. I hate the live mic crap, but the one thing that caught my attention was the difference between Streveler and Masoli. Streveler was just calling the plays, but Masoli was talking to the guys about what was going on and if a play was setup. That comes with experience.
Oh and one more thing... Hall's D is terrible...

Morrow was a very nice pick up,  great depth / injury fill in player.   Zero issues with that guy coming back.

    Dear Mr. Durant,
Thank you for leaving us in the lurch on the eve of training camp and stealing 70K like a thief in the night. Thank you for talking s*** about our team and fans on twitter which surely burnt all bridges and any chance the team would ever want your pathetic green tinted ass in blue & gold. For if you werent such an unprofessional POS we may never have uncovered the golden boy Chris Streveler.
May your shadow never darken the earth outside the borders of saskatchewan.
    Sincerely Bomber fans.

That was Troy Brown and by that point he was not even close to being their top receiver, plus they had a ton of injuries, wasn't one DB out.  This is for fun.

First of all, if we're defending the practice of taking children away and locking them in cages, what else will we defend.  This is what Trump and his cronies want people to accept, that its all or none.  It's either Open Borders or take kids away.  Its simply not true.  If you admit its a political maneuver, you're admitting they are abusing and terrorizing children for political gain.  There should not be a "but..." after that.  It should be over.  The most hard-nosed Trump supporter should be disgusted.
By the way, there is a massive wait at Ports of Entry with no effort to provide needed resources.  So they in essence, make it almost impossible to present yourself at a Port of Entry so that they can then claim you're illegal and do whatever they want.
Yup and you know what else is a misdemeanor?  Trespassing.  Vandalism.  Public intoxication.  So imagine you're at the Jets White Out party and you're pretty hammered.  Cops come along and arrest you...and take your kids away and lock them in a cage somewhere.  Or, you get pulled over for a traffic violation and they hand you a ticket and yank your kids out of the back seat.
This idea that "hey they committed a crime so too bad" is so gross.  This isnt supposed to happen in our society.  They have created a legal scenario to justify their treatment of children.
White people feeling they are losing everything when the Mexicans move in down the street.  We used to call that racism.

I've read that it hasn't mattered whether the asylum seekers are crossing at a proper point entry or not, thanks to Sessions' zero tolerance proclamation separation has become standard procedure for everyone.  No matter how the Trump Administration tries to justify it, the visuals of cages and screaming children being dragged from their parents possibly never to be seen again (are they even keeping records of these people?) is just an awful look in general for the U.S.

I think you're right about that.  Some people just can't move forward or even bring themselves to try.
A while back me and my family were on a weeklong bus tour of western Europe.  It was a mix of Canadians, Americans and some Europeans.  There was one older American couple, gated community types from Ohio, on the trip.  On our stop in Paris we had a guided tour in the morning of the Eiffel Tower and then had the rest of the day to explore on our own or go see a show or something else arranged by the tour.  My family and I chose to do our own thing since we're comfortable traveling and figured it would be fun to figure out the Metro and inflict my terrible high school french on the locals.  For some reason this older couple joined us so we went for lunch at some local restaurant.  We had a fun time trying to decipher the menu (once again our french sucked) but the waitress was helpful and patient.  The French have a bit of a reputation for rudeness to tourists but we found if you at least tried the locals were great to us.  But this couple just clammed up, complained about the lack of english on the menu and from our server (who didn't really speak english) and just wouldn't engage.  We literally had to order for them something we figured wouldn't be too offensive to their delicate palates. So we got through lunch and the couple stuck with us for a bit before pleading exhaustion and returning to the hotel.  We didn't really deal much with them for the rest of the tour.  I think they avoided us lol.
I think about that couple every once in a while.  At the time I scoffed at them thinking them to be typical arrogant Yankees wanting everything to be 'Murican wherever they go.  Now I figure they had recently retired and wanted to travel a bit (or had been gifted a trip from the kids) and see the usual sites and take a pic or two of famous sites that they could frame and hang on the wall.  Maybe buy a trinket or two for the grandkids back home.  Nothing wrong with that.  They had no interest in the actual Europeans though, or the food or the culture.  Just the sites that they could point to when they were safely back in Ohio.  Look the Eiffel Tower!  The Louvre has nice paintings!  Amsterdam has windmills!  They serve Budweiser!  Again nothing inherently wrong with this but odds are if you're grumbling and shaking your head at a menu in Paris you're probably the same way when you get dragged out to your local Mexican joint in Columbus Ohio.
It's people like this that are a problem.  Scared of change or new things.  Isolated and happy to be isolated.  Pine for the "good old days".  And they vote every time there's an election.  As you say you gotta wait out people like this.

Both coordinators need to think about their instincts...and do the opposite at least half the time.  If Richie is itching to send both backers on a blitz, maybe drop 8-9 into coverage.  If Lapo wants to run empty backfield on 1st and 10 maybe toss out a tight end and Harris next to the QB.

The reality is that the D looks a lot better than  last year. Yeah they gave up a lot of yards but the catches were at least contested and the run D was much more stout. The line backers looked amazing. Edmonton receivers just made a pile of great catches are they are known to do.

Reilly has made a career of escaping sacks when he should be down without issue. I won't get on the defensive line too much because that's what makes Reilly the qb he is, that ability to escape situations.

I vehemently disagree.  Jeffcoat and Roh were in the backfield all night, Jeffcoat especially was eating the Eskimo tackles alive.  Okpalaugo had a couple hurries.  Nevis was dominant.  Corney played well off the edge when he came in.  There is a big continued issue with discipline that is costing us sacks, guys not staying in their rush lanes and over pursuing.  The main culprits are JSK and Poop.  Poop is very inconsistent and started losing reps to Thomas again.  If he plays like he did Thursday for a couple more games I think we'll see Bryant.
The blitzing linebackers through the middle every passing down just becomes predictable.  They need to switch that up and have someone spy the QB to clean up when a guy like Reilly moves around the pocket and sometimes out of it when pressure comes.
The biggest issue I see with this defense is how they use the safety position, and maybe what Loffler's abilities are in coverage.  It's hard to tell between the two what the issue is.  There's not a lot of support at the top of routes for our DB's.  You get into a position where they get isolated a lot downfield and you end up with PI's or big plays.  I mean they could make 2/3 plays but that 1 is still a 40+ yard gain because of the heavy amount of cover 0/1 we play with LB's always blitzing on passing downs, Loffler blitzing a lot and being asked to cover the whole field in cover 1.  The aggressiveness of the blitzing isn't resulting in the big plays for the D often enough to make up for the big plays they give up.  There needs to be a balance there and some deception so the QB can't count our LB's as rushers or guys in coverage with certainty every down.

I was pretty angry watching the game., but I had just come from a brutal city finals playoff where another coach almost had it out with our team. LOL
Streveler showed poise. We were hurt by a bunch of things.
    1) Special teams --- not sure what happened on the medlock fg kick, but that set us back. Same with some big returns.
    2) Defense ---- too many 2nd and long conversions.  Too many times they had reilly tied up and couldn't get him to the ground
    3) Proulx ---- sorry, but the fact the game went long is NOT a reason to put the damn whistles down. Many blatant holds among other things Edmonton should have been called for and had drives pulled back. Wasn't just one, was multiple.

Ultimately though if the D can't seal the deal (and I think we have huge improvement there) we won't pull these ones off. No one expected us to be in this one at all, let alone be leading with a minute left.

Bighill is a beast. Flying over the line. Huge pickup.

This is one of those things people are going to use to harp on you about how you make too many threads.
This could easily fit in any post game discussion thread. You haven’t even created anything of substance here. You have four sentences, one fact and one thought.
I’ll share my thoughts though, since I don’t feel like being the guy who comes in here just to tell you what a grave mistake you’ve made ... our D looked predictable and unfortunately, it was being outcoached that did us in from what I saw ... didn’t catch the whole game, but I saw the end and it’s a classic case of being far too predictable in your schemes and trying to go to the well too many times. Might work against a Streveler ... not against a Reilly

Glenn right now is a better qb than Collaros and I think that their OL has actually gotten worse. I'll give em credit for having what appears to be a solid group of receivers, but the rest of the offense? not as good as last season. Glenn turned in a real good performance for them last year that I just don't see Collaros matching. Let's not forget the drop off at MLB going from Muamba to Hurl, we all saw here what that does for a team.
Chris Jones coaching a team and only coaching a team? Yeah I'd buy that he could turn something around, Chris Jones as a GM though? not very good. Kind of similar to MIke Kelly actually. If Kelly had focused on only coaching his reputation might not be in the sewer like it is today.
