  1. Damar. He had a good arc in the final season. But his death was rather abrupt.
  2. The "Ho Bag"? Really? And Chyna's the only one he really trashes, but they were exes so I can understand him feeling a certain way. Still pretty sleazy. I'm guessing this was a few years ago? I didn't see an airdate on the youtube vid. Whatever I'll go with what Mick Foley, Steve Austin, Hulk Hogan and others said about Chyna instead. I wasn't a huge fan of hers but I appreciated what she did for women's wrestling and certainly enjoyed some of her angles back in the day, especially with Eddie. RIP Chyna.
  3. To be fair, she was pregnant at the time. Hence the body double. http://jam.canoe.com/Television/2016/04/20/22626034.html
  4. I'll also give props to the male leads too. James Jagger is good as the Nasty Bits singer, Ray Romano has surprised me in how much I like his character (never really was a fan of his before this), and Bobby Cannavale is just fun to watch (can go from 0 to 100mph and back at the drop of a hat). I definitely agree the mob angle is a low point since I can get that from other shows that do it much better. Hopefully for next season they focus on more bands at the expense of some of the mob/cop stuff.
  5. He could be referring to a lack of doctors, nurses and services in general outside Winnipeg. Specifically rural areas. I'm in Westman and my brother in law is a nurse in a small town in Westman. They are down to one doctor in their hospital (who is leaving shortly) and have two doctors hired but don't start until late 2016. There are also numerous towns in just my area alone that have lost ER services and don't even have doctors for their town hospitals leading to partial shutdowns of those facilities. People now have to come to Brandon for all their medical needs (including emergencies) which can mean a drive of several hours for some people. Hell even I had to have my tonsil surgery done in Portage la Prairie and my wisdom teeth extracted in Winnipeg since Brandon couldn't fit me in. My dad had to wait 3 years for hernia surgery here in Brandon so even Brandon has issues. At least I was able to get my wrist surgery done here so it's not all bad I guess, although my doctor was looking like he's pushing 70 years old lol. This isn't a new problem of course and it doesn't mean the PCs will do anything to solve it. But the NDP had 16 years to make improvements and I've seen nothing done out here.
  6. I've enjoyed this show's first season. Hasn't been as good as it could be I'd say (I'm indifferent to the mob angle) but the music stuff onstage and the behind the scenes stuff has been fun to watch. And it's always a treat to watch Olivia Wilde. And Juno Temple too.
  7. Got it in Brandon as well, me and the wife. Didn't answer and it filled my voicemail. Making an easy choice even easier.
  8. . Conference finals start this friday. My team is in. Still waiting on yours .
  9. Patrick is starting to draw comparisons to Joe Thornton. His size and weight, as pointed out, are very impressive for a 17 year old kid. Watching him this season you can see he is playing like a 6' 3" almost 200 lb man, and not as a kid too big and gangly for his own body. He plays a more physical game now than last season. He asserts himself much more against opposing players and, certainly these playoffs so far, he is jawing at them more as well, a sign that he is growing more confident and assuming a leadership role on a veteran laden Wheat Kings team. He has become the WK's first line centre in the span of about a half season (started as the 2nd line centre), was 5th overall in WHL in points, and plays all 200 feet of the ice. Does both PP and PK very well. His only flaw that I've seen is that he could get faster (not that he's slow right now) but I'm sure he will improve that before next year's draft. I can see the Toews comparisons in that Patrick is a nearly complete player. He does everything well. When he becomes the defacto leader of the WKs next season he may show more of the leadership skills that Toews exhibits. We shall see. If Patrick continues to improve and excel next season like he has this season he will be a top 3, possibly #1, pick at next year's NHL draft. I doubt the Jets will be as bad next season but if we are, it would be worth it if we could draft Patrick.
  10. Nice! Teppo's probably my overall favourite Jet. Loved how he played and always seemed like a good guy that enjoyed playing in Winnipeg. Apparently was one of the Jets that took it the hardest when they moved to the desert, or maybe that's my wishful thinking . No matter, wherever he played after leaving Winnipeg I always cheered for Teppo. Hope he comes back for the Alumni game in October.
  11. And apparently he's gone full Trump now... http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/manitoba/publicity-stunt-billy-moore-brandon-1.3515216 He's making the NDP look good.
  12. Yowza! I thought we closed the old Brandon Mental Health Centre years ago lol. "Love and Harmony"? This dude sounds more like a rejected Green Party candidate. If he was running in Brandon East we could blame it on fumes from the Koch Fertilizer Plant . But he's Brandon West, where all the rich folk live. Don't the Liberals vett their candidates before letting them out to play? This isn't the first one to flame out this election.
  13. Looks like Vancouver is making a big push for 1st Overall. With that lineup they could give Toronto a real push for worst in the league.
  14. Rumour is it could be Newt Gingrich.
  15. We do have a couple more D prospects in Niku and Nogier. Niku is a lefty and Nogier is a righty. They are probably a couple seasons away at least though, but both have decent potential. But I imagine we will draft one or two Dmen with the Chicago 1st and our 2nd rounder. There are some good options at that point in the draft. Scouting report for Niku... SCOUTING REPORT Assets: Has outstanding puck skills, and is reliable in his own end of the ice. Makes smart, safe decisions and displays a sound hockey IQ. Skates very well and makes a good first pass. Owns a strong lower body and is solid on his skates. Flaws: Is somewhat limited, both in terms of ideal size for the National Hockey League and high-end offensive upside. Must prove he can withstand the rigors of the North American professional ranks. Career Potential: Smart, poised puck-moving defenseman with upside. For Nogier... Talent Analysis Nogier is a no-nonsense, stay-at-home defender. While there is not much of an offensive component to his game, he uses size and strength to defend in his own end. An injury during his second season in junior hockey has slowed his development a bit but he is once again back on the ice and logging a lot of ice time. As with many players his size, skating and mobility will constantly be a challenge.
  16. It does have merit but I have a hard time seeing Americans willfully giving up their position as a world leader (and occasional policeman). It's something they take a lot of pride in whether they like to admit it or not. This would be especially tough for Republicans and their base that advocate for more involvement in the fight against ISIS and Middle East issues in general, not to mention the occasional staredowns with China and Russia over economic and territorial squabbles. Knowing Trump, it's part of a "plan" of his to get the U.S out of NATO (and the commitments the U.S is obligated to) and create a new organisation where he can get the best deal ever (!) for the U.S, with conditions that greatly favour them.
  17. Put a pedestrian walkway over University Crescent where the crosswalk is north of the Stadium. Would improve traffic flow after games and make it safer for people walking that need to cross UC before and after the games. I realize this would be a city issue not a Bomber issue but it's my 2 cents for improving the gameday experience. And yes, more wins on the field too please.
  18. There was also noticeable improvement when Ian Wild returned to the lineup.
  19. I heard that too. Hope that happens as they've done this at other Heritage/Outdoor games. I figured they would do Wheat Kings/Oil Kings but Regina is a bigger rival and closer too. Would they get the Moose in on this too?
  20. The scary part is he is nowhere near as strong as he is going to be. Gonna miss him in Brandon when he gets drafted first overall (or top three) next summer.
  21. Would be nice to get Patrick next year, just don't think we could take another year of being at the league bottom lol. If we could get both Hajek and Clague (assuming we were going for D in both the late 1st and 2nd round) I would be ok with that. I'm just not sold on Clague yet. He has some skill but I think his hockey sense is still developing. He also needs to get stronger, much stronger. Next season will be huge for him as he will be the main guy on the Wheaties blueline with Provorov moving on to Philly and Erkamps graduating the WHL. If we got a Dman with the Chicago pick and wanted a forward in the 2nd round, Dube out of Kelowna would be a good pick. But who knows who will be available when we pick. By all rights (and most pundits) Connor shouldn't have be available for us at the last draft. Lucky us.
  22. I may be late to this but I heard they are doing a movie (movies?) version of Stephen King's The Dark Tower: The Gunslinger. I've never read the books but wouldn't be against checking them out. I've heard good things. Has anyone on the board read them and if so would you recommend them? I've read some King books (really enjoyed The Stand and Pet Cemetary among others) in the past. Would the Dark Tower books be worth my time?
  23. If we're going D with the Chicago pick I'd much rather look at Libor Hajek from the Saskatoon Blades than Clague (I say this despite being a huge Wheaties homer). Hajek is bigger, more physical and has more points despite playing on a bad Blades team. Side note, Chevy was at the Wheaties/Blades game this past Wednesday checking things out. Wasn't saying why exactly he was there but probably checking out Hajek, Clague and possibly Kaspick and others for later rounds. Maybe even a couple of the 20 year old free agents like Erkamps or Gay. One guy was saying Chevy was checking out Patrick but he's not draft eligible until 2017. Maybe Chevy wants to keep on tanking into next year?
