I understand there was a lot of whining and nonsense coming from Rod “Village Idiot” Pedersen. in fact that should be a byline on his website “The CFL’s Village Idiot”.

True , I guess they pretty much have abandoned pro sports, at least being the primary carrier.

CBC formally abandoned pro sports (other than hockey) some time ago.

Needs to work on his passing game but that will come with experience. I see potential to develop into a good CFL QB.

You know I don’t feel too bad about this loss. Without our starting QB and best player still forced them to a last play FG. Streveler is showing progress as a passer.

I agree. Steroids don’t randomly contaminate legit supplements. I am beyond pissed at him. Until proven otherwise I’m blaming Harris for this situation.

This game isn't too bad but mostly I find NFL preseason football almost unwatchable.

That was when BC was competitive. Plus we really haven't had real rivalry with them in a long time when both were near the top of the West standings. Bombers playing for years in the East didnt help.

Well I guess we are going to find out if Streveler is ready to take over. My concern is his passing accuracy. He will in all likelyhood be practicing with the starters this week in prep for the Esks. Hopefully Lapo will design plays to get the ball out quickly. I must admit some of my frustration with Nichols is his penchant to hang on the ball too long which led to his injury. Throw the pass or into the stands, just a oid taking the sack after 3 or 4 seconds.

Needed the loot for Reilly and Chung.

I'm not going to make a big deal about yards but I am frustrated that Nichols caves when the pressure is on and we need to make a few first down to extend drives. Nichols kind of reminds me of Kirk Cousins: a decent QB but will only take you so far. He has to lead the team to wins in close situations to have my confidence restored in him.

Spoiling a monster game by Harris. This better be a wake up call. Just can’t take your foot off the gas. All phases of the team need work.

So the question has to be asked: when does Rider fans QB obsession switch from Streveler to Arbuckle?

Power went out at the lake at 13 to 3 for Esks. I assume matters did not improve for the Leo's after that. Speaking of the Lions, where is Lyin' Guy? Wasn't he touteing the Lions as contenders in the west prior to the season? Has he been banned already? I'd like to get his take on the disaster so far.

Highlight of the night for rider fans ... Seeing the Stanley cup brought into Mosaic, hahaha.

Score flattered the Redblacks. If not for 2 turnovers the game was over in the 3rd qtr. Nichols bounced back with a good game. Only bad decision was his inexplicable choice to keep running after getting the 1st down.

I don’t look at yards as the main measuring stick for QB success. I look at how how well the offence moves the ball using both the run and the pass. In BC Nichols was very effective at sustaining drives and completing passes when he needed to. Against Edmonton he started out reasonably well but regressed as the game wore on. While he wasn’t terrible on Thursday I don’t consider his play very effective at all, as a couple of big plays by Whitehead padded his stats. Playing like he did against Edmonton will hurt the Bombers going forward, and he has to be better. Can’t rely on the defence to bail the team out every game.

Bombers should have won going away. Offence just went cold especially Nichols. Thank goodness the D came to play.
