Normally I would say - new OL they should get a chance to gel.
Im not an expert in o-line play. But there's one thing that stands out to me more than anything and that's the lack of push on the QB sneaks. For a bunch of guys that are supposed to be maulers they sure aren't getting a lot of push.

Honestly we are in a position we need to start an air lift of guys moving. Our needs are piling up and we don't have the bodies to fill the holes. 
Yeah losing bolo really hurt. I really like Clercius but we could've been in an incredible situation with ni wr depth. We even did it to petey, he hasn't gotten a real chance but has kicked around a bunch since he left here. That guy was wasted to a tragic degree. 

With the blocking we have been giving, I don't think just changing the returner is the solution.....yes a guy like Grant can occasionally do something in spite of lack of blocking, but IMO it's a greater issue than just returner.
 
I theorize that even as bad as we played if we had dressed even one extra D-lineman we probably would have won...my reasoning is look at how good we were getting pressure on Brown until Habba and Fox went down, then once our D-line was exhausted and no real threat Ott was able to run the clock and Brown was able to stay mostly clean....true our offence and specials were bad, but I do really believe that our lack of rostered D-line depth cost us one Grey Cup and recently cost us this game....

I would like to have been a fly on the wall when they made their decisions on 20 receivers competing in camp and came up with Wilson and Mitchell as the winners.
Mitchell especially was a hot mess in preseason games.
Seems to me there might be 1-2 guys in those cuts we might be able to bring back.
Obviously Johnson is already here so he should get a shot at the SB spot.

Gary Crowton or Manny Matsakis?
They have a couple months before high school starts again.

MOS likely gets the year, Would be shocked to see him fired mid year.

Such a ripple effect too. I wouldn’t care anywhere near as much about dressing 718 linebackers if we could use that extra OL spot for a DL

I absolutely want the same thing for Strev, however, I wanted rolled out more and more in progressions as the season goes on. 

You’re not really arguing against a point anyone is making. The majority of people here aren’t concerned about the individual decline of players. They’re concerned that we’re not doing anywhere near enough to prepare for that decline / put the best lineup we can on the field.

also the younger guys on the roster won't be the reason for decline...It's "some" of the aging guys...not all....but a good portion of the aging/inadequate/no use other than special teams guys filling spots here for no other reason than that they have been here a while, and we have a hard time of late moving on, and actually trying to get continually better on the fly
I want to see Steveler when brought in used in the actual offence....not just totally obvious designed runs....let him show he is an actual QB so that when he comes in...teams don't just load the box....that and actually use option when he is in...and some trickery.
If ZCgoes down...or just keeps turning up the suck....Strev needs to have actually ran the offence before that....forward thinking and preperation for the unknown/ineviteable...things this staff has been ignoring and over looking

Yep. He has the right work ethic, desire, character and football iq. 
 He needs a lot of coaching in terms of his running position, angles and reading the play. Even Brady needed a good bit of time, work and adjustments to be what he is today. Lots of people were ready to toss him away for Augustine not that long ago. No position is a turn key instant starter for an ni. 

I agree tho...MCI will be fine....right coaching...res...experience.....not worried there, but he's not the back-up RB yet...but his physical skills and body type can't be ignored...he will get there

Don't get me wrong, I do think he's going to ride Collaros until the wheels completely fall off and, as a fan that just wants to see us remain dominant, that's disheartening but am I "extremely bothered" that O'Shea feels the way he does about Zach?  Not at all.  It doesn't surprise me in the least especially when you consider  the success the two have enjoyed together.

we will have gassed out a couple guys from over-use....and having to give an interior guy extra reps outside...won't help in keeping them overly fresh either....the ol rob Peter to pay Paul scenario....and this falls smack dab at the feet of having a poor PR and selection of guys you kept for injury issues.....apparent at RB too.....KR...even receiver...Josh Johnson is probably the best guy ready to make a impact...but he behind 2 other guys that obviously have some trait...or said or did something that has a coach all giddy....I havn't seen it....and know others havnt either...

I just looked at the lineup again. One injury on the DL tomorrow and we are absolutely screwed.

It's not the roster I would have fielded but I do think the roster critique has become a meme at this point.
There are holes but, when you look back across O'Shea's tenure here, there have always been holes in the game day roster and there's always been a reliance on his guys.  This hasn't changed.  I've said it before and will say it again, it's his best and worst quality.
I think the real criticism is with the practice roster and Mike has already thrown out many of my own concerns there so I won't rehash them. 

Rough. No Brady (which is the right choice, even if he could have played banged up)
Only 6 DL. 9 “Linebackers”
O. Wilson, Mitchell and Wheatfall all on. 
 
This one really bugs me actually. The one unit that’s been performing consistently well in preseason and last week is the DL. Why handicap them? It’s clearly the strength of the team right now. 

I still think he's the best coach in the league, but his faults are absolutely obvious and given where we are as a franchise, his weaknesses are coming to the fore. Building around a group of core vets and establishing a culture can be a good way to build a team out of the basement, but sticking with vets and giving very little consideration to developing players and building to the future will increase the likelihood we need to do a complete rebuild rather than gradually shift out old pieces for new ones to stay on top. They do it in the offseason and I'm hopeful we'll see it throughout this season, but it is so discouraging to see nothing changed as a result of training camp. Again, it might just be that O'Shea didn't want too much change all at once, which I don't think is necessarily bad.
Shake the bad performance from last week, Collaros can find his form again especially having a higher dose of Strev. Find out who is on the roster that can step up during the season and let them take over for the vets that underperform. Still hard to refresh a team with horrible roster/PR management, but there's still hope.
