Yeah, could the defense have played better yesterday? Absolutely... but there were times where they shone, they caused some turnovers that kept us in it and gifted LeFevour and Co. the ball at B.C's 15 yard line and they couldn't even get a first down...
Oh we were talking about the West semi

His defense blew it last year against the Leo's and I'm not trusting him this year either. If there's one good thing about having to go on the road to Edmonton it's that he'll be kicked out of here pronto at the end of the game.
Our offense strung together like 4 consecutive two and outs in the last 10 minutes of the 4th. the defense isn't wholly to blame. At all

Doubtful, but they will, and should, be on a much shorter leash. There is little doubt that the Bombers are a solid team offensively when they have all their key players healthy. However they seem like they are lacking depth and even at the best of times the defence is awful. The good news? Hall's defence is often much stronger in the playoffs.
That's one thing I've noticed too. He really ramps up the heat every year in playoffs. Can't say the same thing about Lapo though

Can they get fired for blowing an 11 win season?
Probably not. The likelihood of bringing in new coaches and management and IMPROVING on that record are very low. Now the Bombers may regress next year to 10-8 or even 9-9, but franchise stability isn't something you throw away overnight.

Ask Tom Higgins about that.
wut.
Tom higgins got fired after 9-9 (did he even get fired then, or just walk away from coaching?)fired again after 7-10-1, then fired again after starting off 3-5

Re: JFG..... According to reports, Coates is being rewarded for a great week of practice and JFG is a healthy scratch. It was in Taits pre game article...
Whoa, I'm a little surprised honestly. JFG is exactly the type of sandpaper guy O'shea loves.

I can't believe that mauling of Lemieux, late in the period, only resulted in 2 damn minutes. It likely wouldn't have mattered, as our PP is terrible, but that was ridiculous.
Yeah but on the other side of the coin lemieux 100% deserved a penalty for that hit from behind moments before

Worst power play in the league. 5,6 weak shots on 6 power plays. How can Maurice possibly have a job after this?
-
We could win this game and Maurice still has to be fired tomorrow. 0 for ****ing 5 on the PP with pretty much 0 any actual scoring chances. Absolute abomination

Pathetic. Also PP is totally clueless again tonight. Whenever they get their first PP we're going to be pinned in our end for 2 mins. We get 1 weak shot on net in 6 minutes

Well heck yes! under your philosophy there never is a must win game! There is always next year and then the year after that - ad Nauseam! For me I am drawing the line in the sand. This IMHO is a "Must Win Game" for all the reasons others have posted.
Maybe we should think of it as an "Aw Sucks Game - Kinda of nice to win - sorta of would be nice!
Ugh!
Yup, that's exactly what I said! As a bomber fan I certainly also wish that we had lost those other 11 games too

I tend to agree and think this an absolute must win. Really do not want to go into Calgary and need the win. Even if Calgary rests their entire team we never seem to have much luck in Cowtown.
"Must win" might be the most overused term on this board. At this point we have one "must win" game: and that's not for another 3 weeks.

I hate to agree with a Rider fan but....
Yeah I tend to agree as well. Panic is an overstatement because 2 games to lock up a home playoff game is a pretty good situation, never mind being able to clinch with one edmonton loss over two games. But a loss will start raising more eyebrows.

Mason gets the start I assume?
They pushed our **** in last game and are going to do it again.
-
Walking out of pittsburgh with a point? I'm not mad.
Helle far and away the jets best player again.
Scheif was looking for pass first all night. It was painful seeing him walk in with 20 seconds left and not pulling the trigger.
Laine, ehlers - bad
Connor- top 6 player night in night out.
Bottom 6- garbage again but at least didn't get scored on and Hendricks didn't look awful.
If we can actually bury half of our chances we should be okay.

Cheveldayoff spotted at the bell center catching the habs-panthers game. Quick, everyone speculate something!!!

PITT vs EDM tonight.
Don't know who to cheer for. If Edmonton wins maybe the pens are on a bit of a skid and that bodes well for us when we play them.
But much more likely: the pens stomp the oilers without must resistance. Which is also okay by me because the cup parade is over that oilers fans and media have made up and shoved down everyone's throats.
Season is 10% over and the oilers already have over 20% of the regulation losses they had last year

If he's in the CFL I think he'll be with the Riders. One thing I know for sure Jones won't pay Bowman money for him.
True. 250k-275k for Carter? No way. But one thing going for the riders is I don't see too much of a demand.
Bombers: no way oshea wants him.
Edmonton: too many high prices receivers as is.
Calgary: no way they're going to be bring in a guy with a big attitude to rock their boat.
BC: hard to say. Maybe. Dark horse to put in a bid.
Montreal: he's banished.
Ottawa: possible, but doubtful.
Toronto: Trestman won't want him.
Hamilton: they tried hiring a rapist so actually they'll probably make a big push for him.
So really it's down to 2, 3 teams. Carter won't have that much bargaining power

Thorpe is a solid young player and given recent injuries a good pickup. Carter is only under contract until the end of the season, Roosevelt has suffered some concerning head injuries and Owens is both old and injury prone.
Thorpe will look good at TC next season if he doesn't crack the lineup this season but given all the injuries he could.
You gotta assume Carter will be re-signed though, right?

2 regulation wins against a division opponent. Couldn't ask for more. Granted I doubt we would have the same result if they were healthy and we didn't have stellar goaltending each time but you can only beat the team in front of you. 2nd in the central!
