Darren Cameron Blog (for discussion): "Patience Is A Virtue"
LeBird replied to Noeller's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I think we have to admit this is the first year in quite a few where we really attempted and succeeded beyond the expectation of most in getting players who could make us a competitive team. I also realize the blog is going out to the choir but there is some substance there. I would hope we win every game but would be happy if we make every game something we can feel good about. -
I think Regina needs the fans all the way up to Saskatoon. With a new stadium they will need to fill it and when you think about it Winnipeg has more people as Regina and Saskatoon put together. You might say they have better fans but only if the team is winning. Sorry Saskbluefan, wrote the post while you were posting yours. Makes mine redundant.

The Antitrust law has been tested many times an no one has been able to beat it. Without the ratio the league is done.

Been there done that and it did not work. What's so different now?

A very good player like Muamba who tours the country and eventually gets a contract that will pay $160,000 for six games plus a hefty bonus the following year would be putting himself in a position to be replaced by one who might not be quite as good but cheaper. His chances the team will attempt to make a correction are very good. The same applies to Chic and Dressler. They got ridiculous money and promises of next year bonuses from Taman... Taman? Oh forget them. Unless you are the quarterback the chances of getting the next year bonus are not very good. I'm not too sure why a player would go for that.

To be fair it would have been pretty hard for him to have touches when Harris has very rarely missed a game.

Don't you think Popp purposely did it that way? You keep him until after the FA so teams will spend their money elsewhere that force him to deal on his terms of walk into a world where very few have the cap space to take him.

I think you are off the topic Mike. I care a heck of a lot about Harris, Dressler and Smith because they will give us a better chance of winning. I'm not too sure you should set your expectation based on the fact I don't care about uniforms. I own one jersey only because the player who wore it was my friend for 55 years. The man made the jersey, not the other way run. -

Well, you take away the winning and the rest will slowly die away. I was around long before we had the royal blue and gold. The fans loved the colors because the people wearing those colors were winning teams. That is why people now equate these colors to great times. The current colors will be soon forgotten because there is nothing good to remember about the time they were worn. What I am trying to say is to me winning is the most important thing we have to do. Colors come and go but the teams records stays forever. Like I said above I would love to see the team look good but mostly I want them to win. The teams wears the same colors basically for the whole year. As the team keeps losing the attendance keeps dropping. Colors had no effect. Finally, if it takes a puke uniform to finally get the hell out of the basement I am good with that. If colours are more important to some hey, we are now use to wallowing in the mud. If some find colors are more important that winning so be it. -

But you did not answer the question. Pretty good with the insults but no so much at answering the question. In case you missed it what is there in pro sports that is more important than winning? Please try again. -

"Winning isn't everything, it's the only thing" (Vince Lombardi). And that goes even for Bombers and their fans. I couldn't care less is they had stolen and wore the cheer-leaders uniforms as long as they won. However, I could appreciate them in nice uniforms while winning . Pray tell, what else is there in pro sports besides winning? Looking good? That will bring in a lot of fans and get you a lot of Grey Cup. -

You got miss my point entirely. There is only one issue. It does not matter what the uniform is, if you have a good team you will win even in a lousy uniform. Uniforms have nothing to do other than to sell merchs. In 1995 the fans did not want the Notre Dame blue but we got it so Management don't always listen to the fans. So you take my posts get nauseated over it but proceeds to simply regurgitate it. -

Give me a team dressed in the puke designer colors that goes 18-0 and I will love it to death. I think we are using the colors to express our disappointment over the team's play on the field because the old teams that wore those colors were great teams. -
Cost of making your jersey relevant... $250,000 Cost of seeing you smile...priceless

Excluding the fact Muamba might have been rusty when he came back Hurl was as good stat wise. The difference in play might not justify the difference is pay.
-
He could be related to my scraper, It's a Euclid with a Cummings under the hood.
-
Excuse me, did you forget about Hurl? No CFL guy is going to replace this guy.

So you grab a football, paint it while, throw it into a slicer and voila! a signature logo.

Congrats BlueandGold! Well done indeed.

Miller might have a change of heart when the season ticket drive starts.

Prying Brohm out of Winnipeg? Like Heston said:"Out of my cold dead hands".
