Royal Blue uniforms are officially back!!
LeBird replied to bb.king's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I think they are all pretty good especially ours. Might be the memories of old times but that uniform looks great. Now at the other side of the spectrum the uniform that Durant is wearing in the video clip has got to be the different one around. The white green combination is not bad but the solid green is very hard to describe using nice words. -
Have you ever parked with your squeeze in Sask just off No. 6 late at night just around the time TC is about to start? The amount of cars heading South with helmets hanging off the antennae makes it look like an oriental express.
-
If that happens it could be because there will have been two little guys from North Dakota giving the LB's fits. Depending on what position they end up playing I guess. It sure is nice to dream about what might happen and then realize that for once we do have a chance.

hefney signs 1-day contract, retires a bomber
LeBird replied to Taynted_Fayth's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
The guy played an extremely good game for us. He did his best day in and day out and was rewarded with all star selections. We don't know how his release happened so it would be understandable he would have been very upset with the team after giving it his all. Some players are able to hide their feelings while others can't. Thanks to the Bombers for having given him the chance to retire where he was truly a fan favorite. His play made him the eminent swag. -
Sort of like our invites to training camp. Everyone is hoping to find a diamond in the pile. These guys have a chance and if it doesn't work out they should be good back here for a long time. Just as well they do it now than do it after a few years and loose half a year of work.

Better extend the pay wall to the subscribers. And the beat goes on with good old Gordon Sinclair.

Bombers mini camp in Wpg Apr 25-27 open to public

Asking him to organize a parade would be like asking Fiona to model swim ware. -

Is there anyone left that might remember how to organize a parade? -
I love technology and building with the stuff but I don't think it's place is to control sports. We are trying to camouflage the incompetence due to poor training and selection. Football is not a game of inches, it's a game of yards.

Kyle Walters interview in the WPG. SUN.

And have them pay for it too! -
I posted before seeing your's. After your explanation I can see it might work but why do they need to do it during the play if the goal is only for corrective action. The problem might not be inconsistencies but more that some refs are just plain bad. In any case we shall see. It might not be anything to worry about.

I appreciate what you are saying and without wishing to sound like a smart a$$ I have to ask this question. The reason for the replay official is to correct errors possibly missed by the on field official. What would make this official better at calling a play on the fly as an eye in the sky that the on field ref who has an eye on the play? Like the refs who are in the game he will would have to go with the perception of what he saw without the benefit of a replay. Does it not become a he saw, he saw?

According to Doug Brown the command centre will now basically have its thumb print on many aspect of the game. If his interpretation of the rule changes is correct, we are in for many game stoppages while some guy in Toronto reviews a play. And that's not good. The football fan sitting in the seat at the stadium is in most cases able to form an educated opinion of what he sees on the screen during a slow motion replay. So when the command centre's call is booed by all the fans, it's a pretty good indication the call was wrong. They get as many calls wrong as there are by the refs that are debatable. Personally, I would get rid of all video replays and when the call it wrong just lump it. We will get our turn at some point. The game will last longer and guess who gains by having more time. The same people who I would guess had a strong influence in the adoption of the rules. The game stops for 30 seconds well let's throw a 20 second spot in there. How many times do you PVR a game only to find out you are missing the last part of the game. Just my thinking.

That might appear good to some but when you read between the lines it doesn't paint a pretty picture at all!

Was gone too long and many changes had occurred . He could no longer figure the mother, daughter, sister, cousin thing out.

Nice piece Marcel. It sure would have been nice if you had seen all that during the season. Good luck in any case.

I wonder how much they made on the FIFA games? That should have brought in a fair amount. US sold out. Or did ole Bladder take it all?

Wiecek Article: Pressure Mounts On And Off Field For MOS
LeBird replied to Noeller's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
How about this deal: The fans give MOS a pass on the last two years because he was a rookie trying to coach a crapp of a team. We give him our support in this coming year in his decisions and choice of personnel. We don't make him feel like he's on his last leg. MOS on his part coaches this team to the best of his ability and takes the right though maybe painful steps to field the best available players. He tones down his sometimes stubborn attitude. I am sure he puts as much effort into his coaching as he did into his playing. -
We have so many good things happening here that we don't have to concern ourselves with the pony show. The Grey Cup is not played in the spring.
-
We play Calgary twice, Edmonton twice, Montreal and Hamilton. I would think we could go 3-3. Split with Calgary and Edmonton and we take Montreal.

Jones willing to take offers for #1 draft pick
LeBird replied to Taynted_Fayth's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Jones has been spending money like a dunken sailor might have done a decent of getting some good players. He also lost or gave some good players. So he dresses up his fancy ponies to finds out his No. 1 QB is a no go. With Coleman and Smith who freezes in headlights it's time to suck part deux. Helloooo Bishop. -
Lawless article on officiating and rule changes
LeBird replied to Taynted_Fayth's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Somehow I just can't help having the feeling this extra challenge is just another slot to help the network add another commercial. Why not have these robots that can walk and run and just feed their video into a review booth. Don't we have that already? In many instances I pvr the game and start watching it an hour and a half later, and by skipping the commercials we end up finishing at the same time. What has happened to the times when the officials called the game and the fans lived with the decision and the game lasted about two and a half hours? -
And the physio should give Black a lump.

Darren Cameron Blog (for discussion): "Patience Is A Virtue"
LeBird replied to Noeller's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
One of our big problems in the past few years has been our inability to protect our QB and as a result lost him for most of the year. our OL's could play a foursome but that is about it. somehow we have to beef that up. Given some time Willy has found his receivers.
