At this point, I think this is getting blown out of proportion by the media. I don't think this realistically has the legs they are trying to give it. I would think the likelihood of Jones going to the Riders is slim. It would be insane for the Esks to let him go....and they don't have too.

TBurg, you say you would endorse a Huf or Murphy/Murphy's choice HC...yet all I can envision after about a month are posts berating the Bombers for hiring someone old and declining (Hufnagel) or too inexperienced and their lousy choice of HC (Murphy). I don't realistically believe there is a candidate that exists that would keep you from dumping on the Bombers.

I don't see any problem with attending a football game and socializing at the same time. Can be done you know. Our new stadium has a nice set up allowing people to still be able to catch the on-field action and socialize at the Rum Hut etc. A play takes 5 seconds and then there is almost a minute between for the next one. Socialize and watch football at the same time. Not really a problem.

In 2011 we sold out just about every home game and we weren't even that great a team. Put a winner on the field and we won't even be discussing attendance as a potential issue. Not sure where people are so concerned. This past few years might have been the worst stretch of football in Winnipeg since Jeff Reinbold was in town and we still had good attendance. Sheesh...the doomsayers are out in full force.

Yea...no kidding. Wes Welker deserves all the chances in the world in the NFL because he was one of the best receivers in the NFL at one point. Matthews...not so much.

Other teams will be in on Matthews but that Ottawa report is a complete fabrication by Baines. For only 3 days was Matthews a FA in the CFL while the Ottawa franchise was in existence and it had been widely reported that he had NFL interest before FA began.. Would Mr.Baines have us believe that imbetween us , and him signing in the NFL, that the RedBlacks nearly wooed him away from the NFL....LOL.

Rock and roll will never die so long as there are weekend warrior musicians playing for beer money in a seedy bar doing cover versions of classic rock out of a crappy PA.....and absolutely ROCKING the place. The heart of rock and roll is still alive at the grass roots....it just hasn't survived at the top levels.

I blame CD's, DJ companies, and the hospitality industry. They took away all the live venues from the bands. When any clown could suddenly become a DJ and spin digital quality tracks it was a death blow to many, many bands ability to simply rock and learn how to bond with their audience early in their musical careers. The bands were able to eliminate the "cheese" from their music through automatic fan feedback. Now bands are pumping out what they think is rock....but doesn't survive the rock quality test from fans. Largely because the bands never had an opportunity for feedback from anyone other than a record producer looking to make a dollar through a tightly constructed tunnel vision of what they think music needs to be in order to profit.
Nickelback sold records? Let's make a hundred more just like them.
 
No more concept albums...no more genius arrangements like Stairway to Heaven...too hard to get radio airplay for them.

The more likely scenario is that MOS wanted K.Jones and knew that Miller had an in with him. That would be too easy and likely a scenario for this forum though....

I have no issues with Westerman playing right up until the whistle blows or even shortly after. This hit turned out badly because he stumbled and fell. I don't buy the intent to injure crap. He was doing his job and it turned into a dangerous play because he lost his balance. I still want all his momentum going straight towards the QB at all times....even if it means an occasional fine.

All this crap about tampering, and we have no idea if the guy Miller was talking to is currently under contract. Miller can talk to anyone that is not employed right now, and there are some excellent assistant candidates currently out of work. For all we know he was talking to Mike Benevides, or Tom Higgins, or Paul Lapolice, etc. etc  etc.
