Lol I don't think you know what xenophobic means and it isn't racist at all.  I feel like I'm on riderfans with some of the bumpkins on this board. 
I don't think China is our enemies,  but I do agree that they are not our friends.  Strictly business and yes China does not have the same ideology as we do and clearly will not change how they are any time soon.   They'll be nice with Canada as long as it's beneficial for them.     

Things will change, mark my words. I doubt status quo will remain. The question is how much will change? China manufactures most of the world's pharmaceuticals. What's stopping them from controlling who gets what, when & what price? Trudeau may think China is our friend & is filled with great admiration for them but they are our enemies & if allowed would crush us & our way of life. You have to wonder how things were allowed to get the way they were. No one seemed to care, I guess. 

I sincerely hope that the Globalism experiment of countries without borders, refugees allowed to cross unfettered into sovereign countries & supply chain management where we see both China & the US dictate what & how much countries get regarding ventilators & N95 masks. We need to take care of ourselves first as a country. We  need to bring manufacturing back to Canada. Make things here like we used to. 3M has a manufacturing plant in Canada but it doesn't make masks. That has to change. It may be cheaper to manufacture goods in China but I'd be content to pay more knowing Canadians had jobs & we had enough to supply all Canadians with products we used to make here. I'm of the belief that will all change in the coming years. Do we want to be dependent upon the whims of dictators, unfriendly governments & nutcases in the White House when it comes to our healthcare & food supply chains? I don't. 

When Trudeau goes back inside, the doors close after his pressers everyday & the puppet strings are put down by Gerald Butts, does Justin go to his den & watch reruns of Friends all day long?

I'm no AV but our family doctor has never recommended that we get the flu shot. His reasoning was that only people in poor countries living in squalor should get it and that it's just a guess at what strains you are being immunized against, it may have no affect at all. I think everyone should take their doctors advice when it comes to something like this. 

Just curious, can you point me to the literature that shows 1st world countries' health care systems being overwhelmed by influenza, to the point where they have to literally decide who will live and who will die?

I'm not against those measures. I'm wondering why those same measures weren't taken against a pathogen that is killing at a 29:1 ratio. The argument I got is that we have the flu shot.

You can't deny that your argument in support of brushing aside 29 flu deaths in light of 1 covid-19 death was that there is the flu shot but no vaccine against covid-19 so we're more vulnerable to it. Sorry, but that makes no sense. It might make sense if the death counts were reversed but for now at least that is not the case.

Seems to me that in 2010, a year after the H1N1 pandemic when I went for my flu shot in October the H1N1 vaccine was included in that year's shot so it was also just  a year to have it on the market.  

Yeah, there's no political partisanship  on this thread. Even with an act of kindness there has to e an agenda? Okay then... What's Junior up to? Oh yeah, he's been self isolating for a month. Too busy raising the carbon tax while our economy is heading for a depression & giving himself a raise when millions of Canadians like me have lost or are losing their jobs. Unfortunately the “nothing to see here folks” feel that way because they’re afraid the economic disaster will spell doom for trump.  Maybe not all.  Some just don’t have any critical thinking skills. 

I’m not sure a guy who drives his own truck for hours to pick up needed medical supplies to get them 2 days earlier is looking for anything other than being proactive and helpful.
