  1. That being said, Hamilton went out and traded for Bomben... probably the biggest pickup of the off-season. Cost a lot though.
  2. I posted cap hit numbers. Regardless of what Myers is getting, his cap hit is 5.5m. Saying we are in third last place this year so they have plaenty of space in a year or two is something a politician would say...you aren't our premier, are you? Show me how we have room. I just showed you that we don't. Floyd, Trade Enstrom? For What? Who would play LHD? Well, I'd trade him for a pick and a LHD prospect - maybe snag Ouellet from Detroit? Either way, Morrissey is coming up either this year or next, I think Chiarot will continue to progress and might as well look at Buff on LHD plus there's still Pardy and Stuart Enstrom is just not good enough. Fine for the regular season and will just get punished down the stretch and into the playoffs
  3. Get rid of Enstrom and there's room for Buff.
  4. they save about 3.5 million going with burmi instead of frolik...
  5. No need to go 'all in' for a grey cup like Sask did... that's what we were supposed to be doing this year, right? If Chapdelaine shakes loose in Sask, I'd bring him in... otherwise, Cortez will probably be available. Need an experienced (and winning) OC. Khari Jones or Jarious Jackson as QB coach as well I'd sign Masoli as backup and bring in two new prospects (no injury history, 2x TD-INT ratio at least, good mobility - I like Phillip Sims-type) I mean if Ray is available, pay the man... but I doubt he will be Another season of free agency will help - add a guard and maybe a Cdn DT if one is out there Sounds lame, but we have to stay the course we're on... at least for another 2-3 years
  6. Its funny, I don't remember anyone calling for Ritchie's head except for Bauer... same with Berry, in the second half of the 2008 season, we were a pretty good team
  7. That's as much Cal's fault as anyones... He needed to step back a bit after Riley left - Urban Bowman could have been a very good coach but it was Cal's team - there was no plan after that...
  8. This is the worst part... after the late nineties debacle, it felt like we had righted the ship in the 2000s - then Bauer blew everything up for no reason... No fan of Berry but can you imagine if we ever found a coach that went 9-9, 10-7-1 and then 8-10... we'd be hailing him as the next Bud Grant.
  9. All he did was ask if there were consequences for penalties... Osh could easily have answered that
  10. You can see Brohm look downfield a few times but he's moving his feet so much that he never really sets for a throw. Every time he just bailed to the third receiver. No ones going to tell me that Sask's D improved THAT much in a week.
  11. Glad to see OShea coordinating special teams... hopefully he brings back some of his old magic.
  12. Leggett to SAM makes the most senses, not big on Shell at Safety though but we'll see... would rather see Sherman there, more closing speed Greaves has had a tough year but so has the entire OL, I would take a look at him at Centre - there should be some consequences for Picard's penalties... I actually thought Neufeld had a decent game at RT... on the bright side...
  13. I actually agree with this sentiment... but its funny that you say all we need is a DE, MLB, DT and a CB and we'll be a great defence... that's a bit more than a few pieces, ha
  14. Knowing how the BOD worked in the past they'll wait until the Earth is scorched before they do anything. Remember Berry, every 6 games there were changes made if things weren't going well, God I miss having a guy around who knew what they were doing. Remember Dinwiddie and Glenn being co-offensive coordinators in 2008 as Berry's buddy sat in the room and on the sidelines while Berry wouldn't fire him? That's what cost Berry his job. Berry had some pretty significant struggles himself. The fact that he's vanished pretty much shows you how he's viewed. If he was a even close to being a good head coach he would have got 2-3 shots at it. Close but no cigar, Berry lost his job even before the season started when Taman and the rest of the penny pinchers wouldn't let him field the team he wanted to, I believe the quote went something like 'some of you are only here because your cheaper'. Berry didn't lift a finger that year and I don't blame him. Let him field the team he wanted to... we had just come off a grey cup run... It was Berry that wrecked that team by trying to make them fit his mould instead of working with the talent he had (sound familiar MB?) - Taman ended up remaking the team for him halfway through the season - Joe Smith/Roberts trade - then once we had blown up the team, Bauer gave up on everyone and blew it up again. Just like Ritchie before, Bauer was just waiting for an excuse to clean house... guy had way too much power.
  15. If we even had an average QB, we could make the playoffs... crazy.
  16. There's blowouts in every league... at least the refs have slowed down a bit with penalties That being said, this has been a tough year to watch CFL - but that's as much on TSN as anything... unless Dunigan is the colour man, broadcasts are just boring or lame.
  17. So strange watching an offence that calls crossing routes...
  18. Hammie and Argos sure have slick signature unis... maybe we can get a 'redo'
  19. Bass-Simmons-Hurl were on the field earlier... either way, Shell is not the answer. I'd take Unamba right now. With Randle. They ran the odd 30 front with 3 linebackers. None of those guys can cover a receiver. The front 7 is basically the front 6, and that's universal in the Canadian game. Unamba can't cover anything and takes stupid penalties. The only game he played significant snaps for the Riders he took 3 IC penalties. He's terrible. Not sure why people get fixated on terrible players. I know exactly what Unamba is... not fixated at all but the problem is we replaced him with Shell, who's just not that good any more. If Randle is down, do we plug in Posey or Kearney? Move Leggett?
  20. I can't see the bombers winning... Nichols is not the saviour of this team, he will rink and dink like Brohm with an occasional shot downfield. Its fairly apparent that Chevon Walker can't see or hit the gaps... yet we will keep trying to use him instead of Marshall because he's a big name. Our receivers are not running tight routes and our blocking schemes are hard to understand... MB will start going max protect and Sask's DL will feast on us, expect TBrack to blitz a lot more Defence should have a better game, Smith has a real tendency to roll left - get Peach in with contain Expect one gigantic ST breakdown per game... Same old same old - first half should be 'decent' and then we'll turtle after half-time, Defence tires in the fourth Our biggest offensive play last game was by Jerome Messam... says a lot.
  21. Never heard what exactly we have to offer for Ricky Ray...?
