  1. Impossible to say. It's more likely they had vision of weapons today and if they did would never want the citizenry to possesses them. The interpretation of the amendment that it was for the citizenry to act as a militia in the absence of a strong central army is fair.
  2. Breaking it down to something really simple, what is the answer to the question that if these scientists acknowledge the earth has and will continue to experience normal temperature cycles and at some point in earth's future it will Experience both ice ages and melted ice caps, why would we try to fight it? Even if man is causing an increase in temperature it is well within normals for the earth. And if there is no way to stop he earth from going through normal warming trends what are we doing?
  3. Which is why you hve to be protected from yourself. In a perfect world we'd have little or no laws or rules. Everyone would just do the right thing and be kind to each other. The gun lobby feels mass killings are a necessary evil to protecting so called rights. It's time to change that thinking.
  4. Ehlers on Denmark WJC roster. Do jets let him go?
  5. TSN ✔ @TSN_Sports Alex Semin AHL-bound after clearing waivers.
  6. Ed Tait ✔ @WFPEdTait Update on Bryan Little, who missed practice, from #NHLJets coach Paul Maurice: "He's fine." Back away from panic button, folks
  7. Is this the idea that "True North" shout out is disrespectful to the Anthem? Im not sure the anthem has feelings but if it did, I doubt it would feel disrespected. I have never seen any semblance of disrespect to either Anthem at Jets games. If singing out loud is considered respectful, then singing a particular line or words extra loud isnt either. Please tell me this wasnt a local writer. Has to be some goofball with his panties in a bunch when Jets fans make their presence known in visitor cities.
  8. Ed Tait ✔ @WFPEdTait Bryan Little absent from #NHLJets practice this morning. Update later from Paul Maurice
  9. Yeah, kinda dirty pool to undercut the smaller local guy. But I guess thats business. It would be a shame if MTS was bought out after 100+ years.
  10. There have been some articles written about MTS making itself more appealing to buyers. Usually BELL is listed as the most likely buyer. Rogers and MTS do some business together but Rogers and SHAW are partners in some business too.
  11. Obviously they knew they were hiring Lapo all along so was the request to speak to Khari about a different position? The casual fan would love Khari back under any circumstance.
  12. Understanding the importance of empowering his caucus, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau last week instructed his Cabinet ministers to attend all weekly national caucus meetings. He also used the occasion of the 184-member Liberal caucus’s first meeting in early November to introduce his top aides, saying that any communication from them should be considered as coming from him, Liberal sources told The Hill Times. Mr. Trudeau sent the message at the first meeting of Liberal MPs that principal secretary Gerald Butts and chief of staff Katie Telford are his inner circle and that they speak for him, a Liberal source told The Hill Times. ****is this normal practice? I used to watch the West Wing and they treated the CoS as word of Bartlet so perhaps it is.
  13. Just about to post this. Are they not playing well...? Is this politics? Bad scouting?
  14. Donald Trump just jumped the shark http://www.cnn.com/2015/12/07/politics/donald-trump-muslim-ban-immigration/index.html (CNN)Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump called Monday to block all Muslims from entering the United States. Trump, who has previously called for surveillance against mosques and said he was open to establishing a database for all Muslims living in the U.S., made his latest controversial call in a news release. His call comes in the wake of a deadly mass shooting in San Bernardino, California, by suspected ISIS sympathizers and the day after President Barack Obama asked the country not to "turn against one another" out of fear. "Without looking at the various polling data, it is obvious to anybody the hatred is beyond comprehension. Where this hatred comes from and why we will have to determine," said Trump's release. "Until we are able to determine and understand this problem and the dangerous threat it poses, our country cannot be the victims of horrendous attacks by people that believe only in Jihad, and have no sense of reason or respect for human life."
  15. Rogers is a big company and can beat the local guys with "loss leader" deals. I have some friends with Rogers' corporate plans and I know of some MTS employees who were on Rogers because Rogers was willing to beat the MTS Employee discount. If I recall, there was a brief trend where MTS plans went from Canada-wide stuff to Manitoba only, but are back to Canada wide for texting (and they have some good Canada-wide plans too). One thing I like about MTS and I dont know if this is true for other carriers, but when roaming internationally, it no longer puts the onus on you to preemptively add a data plan or risk racking up massive data charges. When you enter the roaming area, you receive a message prompting you to purchase a temporary data plan right from your phone. If you opt not to, data is disabled. No crazy data charges. Wi-fi is still available ofcourse.
  16. Gonna take a lot to like that film. Expecting bad reviews. Star Wars or Star Trek?
  17. If 97% of scientists thought this and if the evidence was so clear and obvious and if governments around the world were so committed...why such a desire to silence the vocal minority? Wasnt Harper criticized for "muzzling" scientists? He didnt throw anyone in jail for not agreeing with his position. I find this the most distasteful element to the left - the "we know better and if you disagree we will silence you...for your own good". Its okay to stifle free expression when it's supporting a left agenda. They tried it with Sun News and it was hilarious in it's audacity. And now Climate Change? Maybe we need to build a Dyson Sphere if the goal is to win a war with the Sun.
  18. I just find the movies so self serving. Like even the parts that make sense or provide insight, its all brought back to him. And because he is witty and goes into scenes with an agenda, he can set people up to give him the results he wants. I like documentaries but the appeal to me is being told a story about something. With Moore, there's an agenda. And thats fine since he's the one making them. But he's so unlikeable. His "common man" grungy appearance and attacks on capitalism are hilarious considering his net worth.
  19. Some of you might get a kick out of this, the trailer for Michael Moor's new documentary "Where to Invade Next". http://www.latino-review.com/news/full-trailer-for-michael-moores-where-to-invade-next-is-here He's a very good documentary film maker but I really cant stand him.
  20. Well he is playing on the 4th line now. He still has upside. And I think he could do well on the wing with Ehlers and Burmi. Burmi has been much improved since going to 3C. Basically took Lowry's job.
  21. Thorburn is a great utility player. And valuable for that reason. When he played top six last year for Kane, he might not have made the line better, but his hustle and tenacity and effort didnt drag it down either. And thats what I see with him on the third line. He gives 100% effort. He's not a bad skater. In a perfect world, he's on the 4th line and Im fine with that. He's probably been good for Burmi and Ehlers as they got used to each other because he's a smart player who doesnt cheat and kept opposing players honest. But as far as the 3rd line adding offense, he isnt good enough. Would like to see Lowry get back to that line.
  22. I will say this, if you live in Manitoba and you dont choose MTS or Rogers, I would say you're barking up the wrong tree. MTS has the widest Cell network. Rogers and MTS share towers. Some of the other carriers have fine service in major centers but not rural. If you have other home services, MTS makes the most sense as you can bundle Wireless, Wireline, Internet, TV and even Home Security. MTS has a really good wireless/home internet/data bundle right now actually. And as goalie said, MTS is still a local company.
  23. (CNN)Last week's mass killing in San Bernardino, California, was an act of terrorism, law enforcement officials and President Barack Obama agree. The 14 deaths at a holiday party left the community shaken, but it's become apparent that for shooters Syed Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik, the mass shooting was motivated by political ideologies. On Sunday night, Obama called the attack "an act of terrorism, designed to kill innocent people." While the couple supported ISIS, investigators are still trying to find out if either of them ever actually met any ISIS leaders or took orders from anyone. Farook was "fixated" on Israel and supported ISIS' ideology of establishing an Islamic caliphate, his father told an Italian newspaper. Before the shooting, the younger Farook had expressed some troubling beliefs, his father told La Stampa newspaper. "He said he shared the ideology of (Abu Bakr ) al-Baghdadi to create an Islamic state, and he was fixated on Israel," the elder Farook said, referring to the ISIS leader. The father, also named Syed Farook, recalled the first time he saw his son with a gun. "I became angry. In 45 years in the United States, I yelled, 'I have never had a weapon.' He shrugged his shoulders and replied, 'Your loss,'" the father said. "I cannot forgive myself. Maybe if I had been at home, I would have found out and stopped him," he told the newspaper. ***Cant imagine the anguish and pain that father feels.
