Apparently you do need the science lesson because you're not getting it. And as far as insulting, you admitted that you haven't been paying attention so is calling into question whether you have paid attention really all that much of an insult? Actually what I stated in the portion you quoted but oddly didnt seem to read was that I dont care enough to recall which poster posted what. I generally reply to posts, not the poster. That way Im not biased against the content even if its from someone I dont like. Many times I dont even look to see who posted what. I just read the post and reply if I so desire. So its not a shot at you. Its just the way it is.

Sure, why not. Whatever. WWE Network and Wrestlemania

I think they know how to, they just dont want to. Because no one is forcing the issue. They used to hang on the segment by segment ratings. Now a year long trend into the toilet doesnt cause them to do anything. No competition = no prideful reactions, In the 90's, they were forced to make new stars. They very quickly built up a whole slew of new guys in Austin, Rock, Shamrock, Foley, New Age Outlaws, Kane, Taka, Venis etc etc etc. But the story-telling was very different. Russo wanted to have something for everyone. Now WWE can only focus on a couple of guys and one issue at a time. They need to accept that they are in a downturn and plan for the future by creating new stars. It might mean sucking for 2016 but it will make them stronger in 2017, 2018 etc. And to be honest, they could turn around quicker by just doing things the fans want. But they wont. And if Hunter is working Roman at WM, then you can bet Roman will continue getting the giant push. The only good thing is, because it's Hunter it will probably be a good angle with good heat. -
CBJ's Jack Johnson bankrupt
The Unknown Poster replied to AtlanticRiderFan's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
TSN Bankrupt NHL defenceman Jack Johnson, reduced to clipping coupons as he navigates his way through bankruptcy, has decided not to pursue a lawsuit against his spendthrift parents, according to court filings. Documents recently filed in U.S. bankruptcy court detail the ongoing feud between Johnson and the loan companies who charge he owes them millions of dollars. Johnson’s relationship with his parents Jack Sr. and Kristina has been “devastated” by his bankruptcy, the court filings say, but he has decided not to sue them because they “are trying to make enough money to live” and he’s unlikely to recover money or assets from them. The court papers also describe what Johnson did after he learned in 2014 from the Columbus Blue Jackets - not his parents - about his financial problems. Johnson shocked the hockey world nearly a year ago when he filed for bankruptcy, disclosing that he had amassed more than $10 million worth of debt. (His creditors now charge $21 million in claims have been asserted against Johnson.) In a startling twist, Johnson said his parents were to blame for his financial distress. Johnson has alleged that his parents took out millions of dollars’ worth of high-interest-rate loans in his name, without his knowledge. His parents, Johnson alleged, pledged his future NHL earnings as collateral for the loans. Among the papers filed in court in recent weeks are documents that detail the testimony provided by Johnson and his parents Johnson’s investigation of his parents’ alleged spending led to a meeting between them and his lawyer on Feb. 12, 2015, in Minneapolis. During that meeting, Johnson’s parents explained their precarious finances. The last time Johnson’s father earned more than $100,000 was in 2006 or 2007. Since then, his income has been about $15,000 per year, for cutting down trees, shoveling garbage, washing cars, and “doing everything he can to put food on the table.” “Mr. Johnson does not have any assets other than a Ferrari that is not in working condition,” a court filing says. Johnson’s mother has similarly performed odd, part-time jobs. “Although (Jack Johnson) determined that (he) has claims and causes of action against (his parents), (he) reasonably determined not to proceed with litigation against the Johnsons given their limited financial wherewithal and to avoid consuming estate assets pursuing an unlikely and speculative recovery at best,” Johnson’s lawyer wrote in a court filing Johnson’s creditors have alleged the NHL star is working in cahoots with his parents, and knew about their borrowing. Earlier this year, one creditor, EOT Advisors, sued Johnson for fraud, asking a court to award the company more than $600,000. Johnson says in court documents that the average career of a pro hockey player is “about five-and-a-half years” and that he granted his parents a power of attorney to help him “save money, invest money, make a profit, and grow because (he) didn’t know how long he’d get to play (in the NHL).” Johnson’s parents have testified that they were first approached by loan brokers who promised “a surefire” method to make money after Johnson signed a seven-year, $30.5-million contract with the Los Angeles Kings on Jan. 8, 2011. Johnson was traded to the Blue Jackets in February, 2012. Johnson first learned that “not all (his) ducks were in a row” at the end of the 2013-14 NHL season, when the Blue Jackets told him that the team had been contacted by one of his alleged creditors. After getting engaged in May 2014, Johnson decided to “break off financially” from his parents and “start (his) own life. He hired a business manager and learned that his parents had opened 17 bank accounts in his name, and had invested in real estate, life insurance, and jewellery. Johnson, who is being paid $5 million this season by the Blue Jackets, says has engaged in financial “belt-tightening” to cut his monthly expenses. He has moved from a downtown Columbus penthouse apartment where rent was $4,000 a month to a “modest home in the suburbs,” with a $2,700 monthly rent bill. Johnson has also “stopped paying for entertainment for himself and with friends and ceased regular leisure travel,” the documents say. “(Johnson) also began using coupons and generally searching for more cost-effective purchases.” While Johnson’s creditors allege he personally appeared before an Ohio notary public and signed at least one promissory note, Johnson says he was never provided with complete loan documents before he signed them. Johnson’s gross income in October, 2015, was $764,646, but after taxes of $332,659, escrow deductions of $86,021 and other expenses such as NHLPA union dues ($600), Johnson’s net take home pay for the month was $338,311. The documents also say he owns three BMWs and a 2011 Ferrari worth $193,000. Creditors last week asked a judge to order Johnson to complete and file a full medical disclosure form. Johnson earlier pledged a life insurance policy as collateral for loans. It's unclear when a judge might rule on Johnson's request to transfer his bankruptcy from Chapter 11 to Chapter 7. If his request is granted, Johnson would be able to keep those future earnings for himself, instead of being forced to commit some of his salary to repaying his former lenders. Chapter 11 proceedings can typically last three to six years, compared to about six months for Chapter 7. -

Im very surprised the Pens didnt ****** up Carlyle. Perhaps they wanted a coach who will coach the way the GM wants him to. Which should eventually mean the GM gets fired. Which is probably good.

In other news, Alberta rednecks plan to hold a Sunday prayer meeting, picnic and lynching for newly elected Premier Rachel Notley. Link?

Issue with the Dudleys is two-fold: They are an "old" act, they are an act from TNA. The thing with Charlotte is that she'd be better doing a story that isnt so obvious. Instead of Flair being in her corner, they should have had him confront her and be "disappointed" in her with her retorting that everything she learned, she learned from him. They tried to do a heel turn with Ric Flair in the Carolina's...that's goofy. Not to mention Paige is very good as a heel in both character and work (she's very aggressive). But being a heel will help bring Charlotte out of her shell and give her more confidence. She probably shouldnt be doing all the Ric spots, but its a starting point. She'll find her own way unless they really mess with her. Bringing in Ric was solely because of the backlash over the Reid Flair stuff. WWE was showing everyone that Ric is cool with it (even though he isnt, but money talks and Ric would let Vince crap on his face if he thought it would benefit his daughter). -

Heard some clips on 1290 this morning. Jets are officially complaining about the officials now. Maurice and Buff both spoke of the target on their backs. That generally doesnt bode well. Also, Trouba/Buff new defence pairing. Getting Trouba ready for a long career playing with Hamonic I hope. Maurice also talked of Lowry's development and getting him back to 3C. -

Im just shocked this was never thought to be contracted before, either in or out. Its one thing to say 'well we've always operated under gentlemen's rules' but surely the lawyers for these teams would object to that. -

Star Fast & Trek Furious. Funny, even Trek fans are defending it as "its a trailer so it has to be all action". Not so. Star Trek really is dead. They slapped the brand on a new franchise that has little in common with the original concept. And Im not saying making Star Trek: Insurrection in 2015 but Star Trek as a brand and concept has a lot going for it. William Shatner also confirmed he is not in it. So the 50th Anniversary contains no originals. When Shatner passes there will be a lot of consternation over how the studio treated him. How many other 50 year old franchises still have their biggest star working and able to and wanting to appear? is Sean Connery wanted to be in James Bond, do you think they'd do it? (they did, in fact, want him for Skyfall and he declined due to retirement). Do you think Star Wars will use Harrison Ford and Mark Hamil? Oh right...

Ottawa's position might be that the GM didnt have the authority to allow talks. Seems an easy solution for the future - have compensation written in the contract or not. -

I assume Mauro will go from "excited" and "living a dream" to bitter and depressed in six months. WWE has this weird thing about announcers where they hire you so you think they like your work but then they want you to change everything about how you announce. And basically you have Vince screaming in your ear the entire show anyway so its not so much you announcing, it's Vince using your voice. That's why Cole and JBL both went from not bad to sucks. Anyone see TLC last night? They are literally doing every trick in the book to get Roman over. I half expect Stephanie to declare her love for him on RAW one of these days or Vince to come out and get speared. Nice seeing the Diva;s continue their downward trend. Funny how Heel/face doesnt really apply to the women. Oh well, Charlotte is way better as a heel. I assume they are waiting for Nikki to come back to be the WrestleMania opponents when it should be Sasha. Ambrose winning the IC title is interesting. Because they desperately need top heels so Owens really shouldnt have won, but Ambrose also desperately needed a win. I wonder if Owens will move up now or if they just continue the IC program. I still say Del Rio could be everything they need and want in a top guy. He was great last night. Now let him cut promos. -

I guess there is the feeling that big name Free Agents arent going to get the same kind of deals they did in the past. giving their current team a bit more leverage. Imagine you're Ladd or Buff and Chevy hands you a contract at the end of February that is everything you asked for in the summer. Your agent says "yeah but we're 4 months from Free Agency". What do you do? Stamkos is an interesting one. Im surprised Tampa hasnt made him the highest paid player of all time. And if he has it known he is leaving, why didnt they trade him in the summer. He will end up mucking things up for some teams. Actually I have no idea... what does Stamkos at the deadline do? Tampa will want a ton but the teams looking to rent him might not be the teams in the market to sign him. Might make Ladd more feasible as a rental. Then again, if Stamkos gets less than a ton as a rental, it drives down everyone else. -
North Carolina citizenry defeat pernicious Big Solar plan to suck up the Sun The citizens of Woodland, N.C. have spoken loud and clear: They don't want none of them highfalutin solar panels in their good town. They scare off the kids. "All the young people are going to move out," warned Bobby Mann, a local resident concerned about the future of his burg. Worse, Mann said, the solar panels would suck up all the energy from the Sun. Another resident—a retired science teacher, no less—expressed concern that a proposed solar farm would block photosynthesis, and prevent nearby plants from growing. Jane Mann then went on to add that there seemed to have been a lot of cancer deaths in the area, and that no one could tell her solar panels didn't cause cancer. “I want information," Mann said. "Enough is enough." These comments were reported not in The Onion, but rather by the Roanoke-Chowan News-Herald. They came during a Woodland Town Council meeting in which Strata Solar Company sought to rezone an area northeast of the town, off of US Highway 258, to build a solar farm. The council not only rejected the proposal, it went a step further, voting for a complete moratorium on solar farms. That seemed to please the residents evidently tired of Big Solar's relentless intrusion into their community. One resident, Mary Hobbs, said her home was surrounded by solar farms and has lost its value. That led Ars to the satellite view of Woodland on Google Maps, to see if we could verify the veracity of Hobbs' claims. This publication will not look the other way as Big Solar attempts to railroad the good citizens of small-town America. Alas, when we looked at the satellite view we didn't see any sign of solar farms as we perused the verdant fields and woods of the aptly named Woodland.

That might be true but they can't trade the small chance of making the playoffs for losong buff for nothing. Of anything their "run" last year showed them the team isn't ready. I didn't mind how they handled Frolik. But Ladd and buff are different. -

Waiting til the deadline lets you hope for a bidding war with a definite time line. But it also means every team negotiating a trade knows the Jets are screwed if they don't trade them. Losing them for nothing should be a firing offense. -

Stardust is probably true most embarrassing gimmick of all time. If you're watching raw and a non fan walks into the room the last thing you want on your screen and have to explain is stardust. Dustin Rhodes is great. Cody Rhodes is pretty good. But it's another tbing wrong with WWE is that they had essentially three generations of Rhodes' and never told a real story. Dusty was over and then he dared raise his hand to shush Steph during a promo and was never used again Just ego and pettiness. -
Theyve always tried to put score the rest of the league, desperately looking for elite wingers for their centres. Trades away prospects. Traded away picks. If they had more patience years ago they could hve reloaded by now. They can stay on this path and probably always make the playoffs and then you never know. But if they want to reload for a cup run with Crosby they need to trade Malkin.

I think we all agree of we had to put real money on it, the Jets' playoff hopes are dead. They need to begin implementing their next year plan as it pertains to their free agents. -
They think having three good players means they should be cup contenders every year. Lousy depth. Lousy d. I really don't think they will be legit contenders again. They will keep trying to run with Crosby and Malkin until they pass those guys' primes and have no choice but to start from scratch.
