Well he's cheap and might play well with Burmi. But I dont see the Jets biting. Caps maybe...

Trailer for Star Trek Beyond to be attached to Star Wars.

The speculation is Trouba's agent sees him as a max year, top dollar player. So a bridge deal is definitely likely, one that expires with him still an RFA so the Jets have some leverage. If one of Trouba or Myers sticks on the left side permanently, it improves things greatly. Trouba-Myers Chairot-Buff Enstrom-??? (Hamonic??)

I would freely admit that on global warming we have crossed the boundary from news reporting to advocacy. Charles Alexander, Time magazine science editor A global warming treaty must be implemented even if there is no scientific evidence to back the [enhanced] greenhouse effect. Richard Benedick, deputy assistant secretary of state, USA

Interesting argument. I'd like to read more. What's the source on this? That was one of the few points that did not link to additional information though I'd assume one could google to see what other sources might back it up. I got the information from http://www.friendsofscience.org/index.php?id=3(I didnt immediately link it because I was hoping to just slip in some myth busting for awhile until someone inevitably found the source and attacked the source rather than the information :-) To be clear, Im no scientist. So Im not so much taking a side as I am saying the Global Warming people seem damned determined to paint those with questions as negatively as possible rather than be open to different opinions, which raises a red flag for me. When politicians say "everyone agrees"...its not true. And full disclosure, this is the FOS mission statement: Our Goal: To educate the public about climate science and through them bring pressure to bear on governments to engage in public debates on the scientific merits of the hypothesis of human induced global warming and the various policies that intend to address the issue. Our Opinion: It is our opinion that the Sun is the main direct and indirect driver of climate change. - See more at: http://www.friendsofscience.org/index.php?id=1#sthash.X5IVg7Ld.dpuf

Our government is more concerned with fighting the Sun than with fighting ISIS.

MYTH: CO2 is a pollutant. FACT: This is absolutely not true. Nitrogen forms 80% of our atmosphere. We could not live in 100% nitrogen either. Carbon dioxide is no more a pollutant than nitrogen is. CO2 is essential to life on earth. It is necessary for plant growth since increased CO2 intake as a result of increased atmospheric concentration causes many trees and other plants to grow more vigorously. Unfortunately, the Canadian Government has included CO2 with a number of truly toxic and noxious substances listed by the Environmental Protection Act, only as their means to politically control it.
-
MYTH: Human produced carbon dioxide has increased over the last 100 years, adding to the Greenhouse effect, thus causing most of the earth's warming of the last 100 years. FACT: Carbon dioxide levels have indeed changed for various reasons, human and otherwise, just as they have throughout geologic time. Since the beginning of the industrial revolution, the CO2 content of the atmosphere has increased by about 120 part per million (ppm), most of which is likely due to human-caused CO2 emissions. The RATE of growth during this century has been about 0.55%/year. However, there is no proof that CO2 is the main driver of global warming. As measured in ice cores dated over many thousands of years, CO2 levels move up and down AFTER the temperature has done so, and thus are the RESULT OF, NOT THE CAUSE of warming. Geological field work in recent sediments confirms this causal relationship. There is solid evidence that, as temperatures move up and down naturally and cyclically through solar radiation, orbital and galactic influences, the warming surface layers of the earth's oceans expel more CO2 as a result.

This isn't surprising. Unless the Jets are ready to pay the moon, both sides would want to see how he progresses this season before hammering out a contract. I understand why it might make some people nervous, what with Ladd & Buff. But he's an RFA going into his second contract. I have little doubt they will make a good deal that both sides will be happy with. Given his play this season, it probably benefits Trouba to wait. And for the Jets who are one of the top teams as far as percentage of cap allocated to defense, they dont know (or maybe they do know) how that might change depending on Buff. I'd be a happy camper if by July 1st, we had Trouba under a long term contract, Hamonic as a Jet and Myers.

Missed this tidbit: Scott Campbell @NHL_Campbell I missed fans reactions to @FriedgeHNIC saying Trouba's camp and #NHLJets have amicably decided to no contract talks till summer. Awesome.

Well yeah, their whole schtick falls apart without the fear mongering. When I was a kid, we were told we were entering an ice age. Go figure.

Arash Madani @ArashMadani Every Eskimos assistant coach has a contract expiring on Dec. 31. #CFL sources tell me Chris Jones hopes to bring his Edmonton staff to Sask Arash Madani @ArashMadani Issue that has revealed itself across the #CFL is the real lack of depth in the GM/head coaching talent pool. Major problem for the league. Arash Madani @ArashMadani Per #CFL sources: Chris Jones has yet to sign his deal with the Riders, but will later today in advance of this afternoon press conference.

The LA Times reports that at a recent summit to discuss, among other things, the disparity in salaries between male and female actors, LucasFilm met with four female directors and three female screenwriters to discuss future collaboration on Star Wars. I see a couple of things there. Firstly, it seems LucasFilm is being conscious about an effort to expand the Star Wars audience among females. From a production perspective, its still an all-male power structure with the exception of Kathleen Kennedy. But it seems the women are more action stars this time around than in the original trilogy. Gwendoline Christie's character has been confirmed as being in Star Wars VIII also. And ofcourse, this seems like a good effort on the part of a powerful company headed by a woman to expand the roles of women in Hollywood. Im all for it.

Cortez among OC's on Bomber wish list

Is Khari under contract for next year? What are the odds is Lapo as OC and Khari as QB coach? -
Sure, why not. Whatever. WWE Network and Wrestlemania

You're judging an entire industry based on your perception. The only reason we're discussing this is because of youtube. The Omega match was for the Japanese audience which is very different from the American audience. Should those promoters stop making money because it offends the senses of specific American wrestling fans? The Undertaker isnt over because he looks like he could win a bar brawl. In fact, I'd never put money on him winning any sort of real fight at this point. Brock Lesnar doesnt move ratings one iota anymore. The most cartoony guy WWE has is John Cena and he's the top merchandise seller. Daniel Bryan and CM Punk were the #2 merch sellers at various points and both are smaller-average looking guys. Wrestling is a work. Everything about it is a work. If you had 25 Brock Lesnar's, then Brock Lesnar wouldnt be special. And by the way, Jeff Jarrett laying down was a work. Ofcourse I'd still be Omega's friend if the booker booked him to do that finish. Jarrett would have looked awful had he refused and also opened WCW up to a lawsuit from Hogan (which was the end result anyway, but not due to anything Jarrett did). -
I dont think anyone would argue that seeking newer, better forms of energy is not a worthy endeavor. But measured and reasonable. I dislike the oil companies as much as the next person. I thought by now we'd all have a small nuclear reactor or fuel cell in our homes that would power everything including our cars forever.

What's the over/under on this thread being locked? No ones mind is going to be changed.

Please tell me you are kidding, please tell me you have some grasp of science. Please do not erode my faith in our educational system... Well you make a good point. Oh wait. You didn't make a point at all. Climate oscillation through history tells us the earth goes through warming and cooling cycles that are obviously not caused by humans. I'm no expert. But but if you think expending massive resources and billions of dollars will ***** the planets normal climate culled, well....I would respectfully disagree.
-
Did humans cause the last nice age too? Did humans cause the last complete ice cap melt? This is my issue. It's a chicken little thing. The earth warms and cools with no Impct from humans. We might be impactinf it to a degree. But trying to convince people that tje earth hAs always and will always maintain a stable temperature if only we spend billions of dollars and everything else is irresponsible
-
I'm not opposed to reducing emissions in a reasonable way. But when we accept that the earth is also experiencing a warming trend independent of human impact, to what end do we spend billions? We cannot stop the earth from warning.
-
One of the problems is you either hve to embrace it or be called a denier. No in between. And I think they've hoodwinked some people into thinking we can stop the ice from melting. The earth has been hit and cold many times and will continue to be so. No matter what we do eventually the ice will melt. And eventually it will freeze again.

No but if that nurse was widely considered to be some sort of authority on the dangers of smoking Id consider her/him to either be a gigantic hypocrit or that she doesn't believe why she's preaching.
-
I disagree. I think too many people are trying to make science prove their perspective. The idea that every scientist shares the same opinion is simply not true. If the climate change rock stars believes their own BS they wouldn't have massive carbon foot prints themselves.

London Knife Attack - Terrrorism
The Unknown Poster replied to The Unknown Poster's topic in General Discussion
If this guy had an automatic assault rifle he does a lot more damage than minor injuries to three people. These attacks might even be scarier. The idea being it doesn't have to be a 9/11 or a Paris. And it doesn't have to be organized. ISIS creates a call to arms for those that share their views to kill one person, five people, ten....it doesn't matter. Trying to make people feel unsafe in everyday life doing everyday things. Where you might feel the odds are in your favour to avoid a Paris or New York, these smaller attacks cause a paranoia. And it makes ISIS seem like a group that can get you wherever you are even if they have no direct involvement.
