  1. Dudley Guice JR for one couldn’t even crack our lineup and got an NFL shot.
  2. Tim Burke was as bad of a coach as Jason Bultz was as a QB
  3. He’s played in six games not ten and started the season injured. He hasn’t really had an opportunity to get going with our lack of passing O, he started off hot against BC and we inexplicably stopped going to him. I don't like this move at all unless we have another move in the pipeline.
  4. Dressler was about the only good signing we’ve had in recent memory.
  5. Can’t say I’m happy about Matthews being cut. He’s still a better player then Lawler or Whitehead. I wonder what circumstances led to us cutting him, or if we’re planning on targeting a Duke Williams or swinging a trade for Derel Walker.
  6. Even with the subpar passing (some not all of it can be attributed to drops) the element of being able to run the ball that Streveler provides makes him the preferable option to Nichols in my mind. How many times has a QB with over 400 yards passing (430) lost to a QB with under 100 (89)?
  7. 1. Willie/DL 2. Medlock 3. Rios pick six HH Strev/Harris running
  8. You mentioned three guys and two of them haven’t played/been relevant in ten years. Isnt that abit of a clue?
  9. The NFL isn’t called the “no fun league” for nothing.
  10. I’m not keeping up with this thread, but the Riders are garbage and have an inflated record.
  11. Not to mention that we should’ve won the first Edmonton game and the second Edmonton game was a glorified preseason game.
  12. I’ll take Streveler over any of those guys. The only one who i would even want is Vernon Adams. Cody Fajardo still sucks.
  13. I can think of a few posters here I'd be willing to sacrifice to the football gods.. How about Ripper (or any other Rider fan)?
  14. We can win a Grey Cup without Nichols. We might have a higher floor with him, but he’s also a bottleneck that lowers the ceiling. Forcing the offence to be more aggressive and not just “manage” the game might be what this team needs to win a Grey Cup.
  15. That was an incredible segment on CJOB before the last game. Bob kept trying to steer Doug Brown very far away from that conversation and Doug Brown wouldn't stop talking about it.
  16. Is completing two passes for seven yards and then punting the ball impressive? I don’t care how many passes the check down king completes. It’s a very poor stat to use when our QB constantly throws second down passes well short of the marker.
  17. Yeah, I think they ran it all the way through in 2017 but inexplicably dropped it last year. It’s just another dimension that teams have to prepare for and can help keep the wear and tear off of #33.
  18. I don’t know why we stopped running the two back system last year. It was effective and teams weren’t able to stop it. If you throw Streveler, Andrew Harris and another good RB on the field together they’ll run all over the league. Thats the kind of offence you need in the CFL come October/November.
  19. That was a hell of a game, but the no call on the big return that led to Hamiltons game winning touchdown was disgusting.
  20. Sure, we could've said the same thing about the 7-1 2011 Bombers as well. What happened to that team when the turnovers started to dry up? You can't rely on returning kicks for touchdowns to win and the offense has to be able to score the ball.
  21. We need to use Strev more, but actually rotating QB's throughout the game has never really worked in the history of football. What we need to do is treat our QB situation with Nichols as the 1A and Strev has the 1B and pull Nichols when hes struggling. Let's not forget that Ricky Ray was often pulled for Jason Maas and Casey Printers/Dave Dickenson were also pulled for each other. If it's clear that one guy doesn't have it, give the the other guy a shot to finish the game.
  22. They played on the same team, Nichols got traded and Franklin came in and played better. I don’t know what you’re saying but there’s no arguing that point, it’s 100% a fact.
  23. QB1: 84/133 for 973 yards (7.31 YPA) with 6 tds 1 int 63.2% and 97.1 QB rating QB2: 129/209 for 1448 yards (6.92 YPA) 8 tds 10 ints 61.2% and 75.6 QB rating. Qb 2 was also traded for a bag of footballs and replaced by QB1.
  24. You do know that the Eskimos won the Grey cup that year right? James Franklin came in and played far better than Matt Nichols until Reilly was healthy. Teams can win in spite of their QB and Nichols has been among the worst QBs in the league the last three games.
