No because they make changes all the time on defense including cutting veterans. The issues are that changes never get made on offense. This is not a manager thing, this is a coaches are reluctant to make changes on offense thing and I am curious to see how things change now that there appears to be more of a concrete plan in place at the qb position. Pierce was an issue with the never being healthy, it took reps away from the backups, he wasn't playing well all that, now that they don't have to worry about that and it possibly being an issue for the offensive struggles I expect to see a more critical eye turned to the rest of the offense from the coaches. Assuming Burke knows what the hell he's looking at  there. His preference of Anderson over Denmark doesn't leave me hopeful

If he was told before the season started that he was the #1 QB this season, I can see why he's angry.

Has he played great?  No.  But we know he *can* play great and he's shown flashes (albeit briefly) this season also.  If I'm him I'm saying "What more can I do?  You tell me I'm number 1, you dont do jack about the horrible O line, you have an idiot for O Co-Or, our plays are predictable, we've eliminated the run game and half my receivers have been injured this year".

I'm not saying we dont need an improvement at the QB position but it's not like Buck has had a great situation to work with here.  And if Goltz is able to do anything it will simply be because he can run away from all the trouble coming his way moreso than Buck.  But that doesnt mean our O line is suddenly better or the OC suddenly has a clue.

This situation is becoming another circus.  And Clown Shoe Butchko better his arms around it damn fast.

PS: Wish the government would beg True North to become the "operators" of the team and stadium.  Someone has to be truly accountable, not a board of dimwits.  You've got legit football people on that board, what are they doing to correct this?  The CEO is a glorified salesman.  The GM is a Dead Man Walking and he knows it.  The Head Coach is a brillient DC in way over his head this year and he has no help from his Coordinators.  What the hell is going on??

I guess the question is how smart we're they really before they walked in....and then there r the dumbasses that hired them.

Look at the Toronto staff, they have Milanovich there & Marcus Brady. In Calgary Huff & Dickenson. In Sask they have Cortez. How can young qbs not thrive with guys like that coaching them? This organization has never put a lot of importance on hiring a qb coach. Yet, they constantly try to develop the next Tom Clements or Matt Dunigan with no success. They seem to feel it's more important to have a running back coach over a qb coach. Or a receivers coach over a qb coach & where have we failed in development? At the qb position over & over. Connect the dots & it's easy to see the problem. But I honestly think the people that run this team are clueless. Smart football people get hired & then walk thru the doors to their offices at Canad Inns or IGF & dumb right down.

Montreal seems the most likely to work their way off of that list.  The others will be fighting for the last playoff spot IMHO.

It starts above the GM and the president -- the whole organizational framework needs to be assessed. Too many old cronies making big decisions.

Poor Labbe, even from the bench he gets no respect when in fact it was the golden boy Henoc who missed the tackle on the biggest play of the game allowing Hank to scramble for 13 and a first down. Ratio changer my butt, when he starts making plays in crunch time he will have earned that label.

Agreed if the receivers aren't where they should be on designated patterns stop hanging it all on the QB.

There are imports who are expiring their contracts this season and may try to land a gig in the NFL (ie. Chris Matthews), so that may factor in for selecting imports they want to protect.

Besides season is  young, so might see some new players that will prove they deserve to be protected also. (ie. Aaron  Woods)

Most players who weren't the best players make great coaches because they have to work harder as players & therefore have a better work ethic asd a coach. And they relate to the players who weren't the best... I remember reading a story about Ron Lancaster when he first became a head coach in Saskatchewan. He couldnt understand why the things that came easy to him as a quarterback & player didn't come easy to his players on the Riders.

Good call Noeller. It's like having your safety being the leading tackler..yikes. It's nice to see those tackles by the guys in the box limiting gains.

Seeing a guy with a ton of tackles always makes me wonder if the other team was picking on him, putting him in chase position and forcing him to make tackles...

for me, the underlying thrust of the article was that the Bombers face a tough road ahead. i don't see a problem with someone suggesting that if the Bombers lose in Montreal that they will be putting themselves in a very tough spot... since they will be.

all points to the contrary (ie: the season is still young, the CFL is erratic and arbitrary) are also valid... but the writer was saying that if the Bombers (for some reason) weren't feeling pressure this weekend... they ought to be.

hell, if i was a Bomber i'd be telling everyone that it was a must-win... i'd tell them that every frickin week.

Who said anything about glowingly positive?? Why is it always black and white with you people??? You know, there's a really nice middle ground where it's nice and neutral. Irving and Tait are masters of it...

Why should he be glowingly positive? We haven't been a good football team offensively in a very long time. And Game One was no better.

If you want all sunshine and rainbows, read the Leader Post in SK. Their GM can fondle little girls and the reporters don't even have the balls to ask the team to comment on it.

I agree. The tough one is the QB. Until you have identified a true replacement better the devil who know. That is the struggle with the QB spot and why QBs are perhaps hanging on too long in both leagues. Not the players' fault. They'll often stay until someone says it's time to go.

If holding onto a guys wrist to prevent him from using his arm isn't PI? What is? Even Burke admitted it was PI, he was standing right there.
    JJ needs to go.

JJ remains the same and needs to go. No run game at all. They go vanilla in the 4th and play not to lose and gee what happens.
