An inept offence simply contributes to a defence that is forced to score points and try and win the turnover ratio....when they manage to do that the team wins....look back at last year....it was the same story.....win the turnover ratio and the team has a chance....don’t win the turnover ratio....simply blame the defence.

Yeah,I'm damned well tired of it. This has gone past the point of acceptability. Our passing offense is an abysmal failure. An embarrassment. Absolutely freaking useless. This is why fans will be demanding cpoaching changes this offseason because next season won't be any better. I'm so ******* pissed off. Something has to give. Get us a qb who can throw the ball proficiently so we can have some semblance of a passing game. Not this high school **** we watch now. 

2 nice defensive plays tonight but the D had a game to forget  line play was terrible, Bighill has forgotten how to play, and db's can't continue to be in a different time zone when covering receivers, I don't care if it's zone or man guys can't be left that open.

I wasn't specifically referring to you, moreso to the point you were making to the poster that you were quoting. I don't think any fingers should be pointed towards essentially a rookie QB that really shouldn't be in this situation yet, I think it's more an issue that management hasn't addressed.

The East won more Grey Cups than the West the past few years. I know what you're saying & you're not wrong  but championships are what it's all about.

Every team has positives and negatives. If there are lots of positives I believe your chances of winning improve. But the opposite is also likely to be true. We have been losing of late because despite the positives, there are too many negatives. You ignore the negatives at your own peril and I believe good teams focus on getting rid of the negatives. That is why they try to avoid turnovers, minimize penalties, eliminate errors, etc. That is not being negative or emotional. It's pragmatic.
What happens if, after a while, despite the best of intentions, the balance of positives to negatives remains askew? 
Loyalty to players and coaches that aren't good enough isn't going to change our fortunes. Getting the right players and coaches in here might. We've had almost 6 years of this regime and 1 playoff win to show for it. Do you think that's a good balance of positive and negative?
Once you have determined you need better coaches and players you have to change them out. How else are you going to do it? That's how other teams do it.

I find it amusing how people speculate and rationalize how games are won and lost....or should have been won. There are no pictures on the scorecard only Ws and Ls....how you get them isn’t relevant to the final outcome. Football is a combination of 4 factors, O, D, ST and Turnovers. Any combination of those things can result in a win or loss.

The challenges with that strategy is we have recently witnessed what happens when opposing defences know we are going to run the ball. Cold weather or not you still have to make opposing defences respect the threat of a pass and a deep passing threat.

We just need to get over the idea that we are better than we really are. Neither our players or coaches are good enough to win a championship barring a miracle. Serious upgrades are needed.

Interesting.....so you didn’t have a QB that could complete a pass....didn’t get near the Grey Cup.....and with status quo moving into the next season....this was going to change? How exactly? And this path continues how much longer?
 I didn’t say the marketing department runs the football team.....the marketing department is left to market the team based on the actions or inactions of the football team.

Let me share some insight from an NBA marketing executive who gave a talk at a CFL marketing meeting:
Never call it a rebuild....a 2yr retool is what fans expect....MOS did an admirable job retooling in 2 yrs....then what in 4 yrs 1 playoff win
A sports franchise marketing strategy is predicated on “selling hope” to fans. There is only a 50% win/loss proposition. If this team continues to falter down the stretch....what are you using as your “Hope” sales pitch to fans?
A management strategy based on the premise of I don’t make a decision to make changes moving forward, I won’t make the wrong decision....is a failed strategy in business and in sport.
So those of you touting “patience”..... what exactly is your time line and management strategy moving forward?

Yes, I think there's an argument that each year the team has been better than the one the year before. Walters has improved the talent on this team especially in the first few years. O'Shea and his coordinators improved the coaching. Eventually the progress seemed to plateau and is now trending down. We are an average team with average players and average coaching. In my opinion, to get to the next level, we will need better players and better coaches.

And if we continue with this element of patience....we will all be patient. It’s ironic we have endured 6 seasons of this rebuild re tool and people want to fire Campbell, Chamblin, Maas and Claybrookes and think nothing of that.....we have one playoff win...there are some Cup winners in that group of “rejects”
