And like said any change can always go back to what it was if its a major flop or causes major backlash...league is trying to find and be accessible to newer fans and demographics so what is old and accustomed to by lifelong fans is irrelevant to anyone new...or newish. If old school fans sqwuak and whine and revolt..screw em...obviously not that big of fans then. Times are a changing and you either change with it..or try to evolve to it in some regard or you whither away and die

Do the Bombers trade up for the 1st overall pick? Our first + the extra pick to move up three spaces in a deep draft? Will this allow us to get at least 3 players that will move the team forward, or do they hold fast, and keep a potential 4th high level pick? Do we have room for 4? Do we lose a player from an area of need if we trade the pick? Do we lose out on Vacarro if we don't - and is that so bad? I'm not sure - as we are not privy to all the information.
Looking at our current roster - I would suggest our biggest area of weakness are OL -> reciever -> DL and then DB.
OL -> Neufeld (at the tail end of career) - Wallace - Eli - with Vibert and Uwubanwen as backups.
Reciever -> Demski - Nield - Clercius - with Cocoran and Cobb as backups.
DT -> Lawson - with Schmekel and Kornelson as backups
DE -> Bailey (Global) - no backup
Safety -> Hallet / Ball / possibly J Smith / Kelly (and we may use an American here to start)
LB -> perhaps use Shay and J Smith platooning at one position - Cadawallader and Novak as backups.
RB/FB -> Oliveira and Paterson/Chris Ike.
QB -> Elgersma will likely be one of the 20/21 Canadians on the opening positional chart
other: Sheanhan (global punter), Leroux (long snapper)
Have I missed anyone. Should be a fun night, and the global picks Wednesday. My son (12) and I are doing a draft party - and is usually one of the bigger days of the year.
Whoever the Bombers pick - it should be fun. I hope they give every pick, as well as all the new players they have already brought in a real chance to compete for the team - need a serious, all-out, no locks training camp this year - let the players win their position.

Not sure if asking the MAGA crowd for help, getting a foreigner getting a work visa, is a sound strategy.

Intelligent people assume....wouldn't put it past the CFL to announce cap penalties after the draft or something stupid. Can't waste anytime when there are 55 yard lines to remove from fields.

The issue is whether Dru can stay healthy for enough games to be a legitimate option l.

For whatever reason there was a long held belief that 9v9 youth tackle football, wasn't "football" in a lot of minds that controlled amateur ball in the province. And programs suffered under that. Even that change has brought youth football back growing in the province. Along with programs like the Selects, or Recruit ready, Club ball has added a spring league too for U16 and up....there are more and more programs in MB that are just about developing players at every level. Not only skill but just a love for the game. Add in the Bombers 1st class commitment to the youth in tackle and flag and football is seeing a legitimate renaissance here.
