  1. Back when Mike Reilly was in a similar situation, I wondered why he wouldn't wait a couple of weeks and test FA, but he had already made up his mind so the point was moot. This year, if Collaros is thinking FA, I can see his point, but his situation may not be as lucrative as he thinks. If he's thinking NFL, that would be waste of time IMO. If he's only thinking CFL, then the only team without a starting QB is the Bombers, and we would seem to have more choices than he does. His decision should be an easy one and I believe he is only trying to maximize his position.
  2. I'll definitely be watching the game as I enjoy our CFL game too much to miss the final game. It'll mark the end of a very frustrating season to be sure, but I will find some solace if all the careful planning, preening and posturing by the Roughriders org. comes crashing down. So, once again, I will be pulling for the underdog, the Ti-Cats in this case, and hoping they can overcome. Pulling for the team expected to lose is not easy, but it's not as if I haven't had much practice at it this past while.
  3. I bet you there's some poster @ eskfans named *Dauphin, or something like that, who is saying about the Bombers - "Acquiring Jones is a much better move than praying that Chris will be the saviour." *the artist formerly known as LSD
  4. OK, having said that and giving him credit for that, would anybody here want Ed Hervey hired for our GM position? I wouldn't.
  5. Heavy man... I see where you're coming from…in colours. But, to me, these are only token words, ( or is that spelt with an i )
  6. Maybe but image is everything. Unsubstantiated and completely unfair to the young wizard, Mr. Walters Maybe but optics are everything. Optics are everything? Not if they're an illusion.
  7. Out of curiosity why do you think Hervey is an awful GM? for starters... -extended K. Reed following their dreadful year last year -It was at 7:49 a.m. when the Edmonton Eskimos sent out an e-mail to announce that GM Ed Hervey had fired Kavis Reed as head coach. -won't be named a godfather to any children of Simeon Rottier(whom he trashed mercilessly publicly) -trashes journalists -did not know a roster freeze was on from Nov.24 to Dec.9 You've got that one backwards. That's right…my error, he didn't know those were the trade dates. Thanks for that.

  9. Hire up the food chain..so to speak. Problem is I get the impression these guys might be doing the igloo shuffle before too long. Who's going to bend to who's will. It's lucky for Jones that Hervey is such an even-keel GM who doesn't meddle. Ever. (Oh...'cept for that one time)
  10. …What Kyle may be saying in Regina all week.
  11. Unsubstantiated and completely unfair to the young wizard, Mr. Walters.
  12. What you're saying is true…more or less.
  13. Everyone knows Loverboy especially since that Mr. Lube commercial came out. I'm not so sure that both of those should be mentioned in the same sentence.
  14. Edmonton could be his team of the year. It hard to keep up with that Jones.
  15. I was waiting for the usual 'reactions'…and haven't been disappointed. Ha!
  16. Wait, are you saying we should actually wait 'til an announcement is made before we get all worked up and make improper statements and guesses? Where's the fun in that?
  17. That stadium doesn't look near ready, but who really knows... As to assurances that it will absolutely be ready in time, one word, optimistic? I suppose if they need some advice, in order to reach their target date, they could always consult with Canada's smartest man...Peter Dyakowski
  18. I, also, was impressed with what N. Thorpe did with the Alouette defence last year. He kept teams guessing. Here's some info; Noel Thorpe: -2013 is Thorpe's first season as the Alouettes' defensive coordinator after spending the last two seasons with the Université de Montréal Carabins in the CIS. -During his first stint with the Alouettes, the now 42-year-old was appointed special teams coordinator, a position he held from 2002 to 2007. -His responsibilities also included coaching defensive backs from 2003 to 2007. - Edmonton Eskimos’ special teams coordinator and defensive backs coach from 2008 to 2010. During his two seasons with the Esks, he served also as the team’s assistant head coach. -He was also the head coach of the gold-medal-winning Team Canada squad IFAF U19 World Championship that same year in Austin, TX.
  19. I don't know, Taman may be tired, and may have had a 'rough rider', but to me, he's attempted, and always succeeded, in having the "dishevelled" look down pat.
  20. I want our Head Coach to let the people he hires do their thing. However, I still want him to be on the game planning for any particular team, not to meddle, just to be involved. I want our HC to know what the hell he is doing on the sidelines. I've seen enough of signs on the sidelines and puzzled looks and extremely poor time management and challenges. So yes, to echo what you and BFFC are saying, I want a leader who is ready to assume the role of the man who calls the shots, and everybody on the team knows it. (Oh, and no cheat sheets)
  21. Let me get this straight: Miller is hired. We have a process. Khari is HC. No process. Worman is in. No, he's not. Walter's in. Higgins has been talked to. Among others. Walter's not in. Mike O'Shea's name comes up. Khari's not in. Danny McManus's name comes up. Khari's back in or is he? Miller's calling everything. Maybe. Nothing's been announced. Everything is in place, but nothing's been done. …..This week can't end soon enough.
  22. The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of Danny M. re-joining the Bombers in any capacity. As the Chief US Scout or as a member of the Coaching staff. I can see value in either area. I believe he's a pretty smart man and he knows the CFL well. He would be…"a good man in place."
  23. Relax, it was a joke. And it looks like yesterday's lesson on the fallaciousness of arguments based on Appeals to Authority didn't really sink in, did it? Now I know why I didn't become a teacher. God you're dull And just like that, there's a dull in the conversation.
