yeah....gotta say it seems all around he getting some bad guidance with some people in his camp who are not too competent....a lot of the groundwork should have already been done...why do you think pretty much every Canadian in the NCAA who gets on either a NFL roster or on a PR hasnt had to come to Canada with tail between their legs due to not being able to legally earn a paycheque down there

Piggy 1 reacted to Stickem in 25/26 CFL (Non Bombers) Off Season ThreadAgree and it's a tight rope we'll be walking in 26' ....hoping Zack can hold it altogether is tenuous...Reason why we NEED a back-up that can come in and get it done....I've noticed that nobody hardly brings up the 'concussion' issue Zack has....Knocks on the noggin' just don't go away and I hope it never rears it's ugly head BUT just in case it does I hope one of the new qb signings can come in and surprise the hell out of us

Piggy 1 reacted to Booch in 25/26 CFL (Non Bombers) Off Season Threadyup...I hope he has a season of all seasons and then walks away, and some run away games where we can get QB2 whoever that is some legit reps
And yeah...the concussion thing is still there...and is cumulative in their affect...I truly believe that Edm game where Brown did the big comeback that he got scrambled and has been a fraction of himself ever since....and got his noodle rocked a couple other times too since...some were very insignificant in how it happed too....cause his on-field awareness and ability to process ever since has been horrible...he's had a few moments of what looked to be the old ZC but that was more a result of everything just going right and clicking moreso than him grabbin the team by the collar and dragging them to the win... He plays panicked way too much now, and more times than not is easily goaded into errors, and just looks confused

Holy smokes…. You’re hilarious. I didn’t say it never happens. Wow.

Piggy 1 reacted to Booch in 25/26 CFL (Non Bombers) Off Season ThreadI tend to agree with that....Same with if Walters didnt walk away from Biggie...and now Thomas and Kolo....All 3 would be penciled in as key returnees....That's been his way for 13 yrs...I highly doubt yr 14 he was gonna change
yup...Or he can use his legs and ability to move chains that way...But he is incapable of that for most part too...Is it in his head he is worried about injury and self preserving?....or he doesn't have the plums to do it a lot now?....either way it's a hinderance at QB for us. Even the times he does do it...99% of the times it's the most awkward and clumsy looking thing and just a recipe to be shelved for the yr from a big ol smack...That's also not a good thing hanging over your premium paid QB as well...Limited ways to use him due to fear of a season (likely career ender) injury

Piggy 1 reacted to Tracker in 25/26 CFL (Non Bombers) Off Season ThreadI still harbour a suspicion that if it was up to O'Shea, Hogan would still be the OC.
JJ was probably making Hogan look bad.

Idk how they run their camps down the UFL, but a 4th arm for camp would make a lot of sense. It is a shorter, earlier season so I can see not needing 5, but just 3 would be pretty surprising to me.
Still, to your point, Elgersma has to be expected to be the 4th man on the chart.
99% of the time, especially in this day and age of the cfl.
Yep. Even pro polish. If im looking at a guy who had a so so camp and some good pre season action, vs a guy who sat on a PR for 2 full years im gonna lean towards the guy with 2 years too.
Right decision, love that guy, hope he has a brilliant post playing life and maybe coaching career.
Or just volume. Especially if you need to push Wrs/Dbs. You need arms to do that.

Looks like Streveler is calling it a career. Posted a video on TT.
Getting injured is not the way the players should go out, but that's the reality of a contact sport. Much respect for everything he's done for the community and the team.

You really like to argue. Sure, some situations are better for the backup QB, but most situations require QB1 getting hurt for QB2 to get any significant reps. If you don’t agree, that’s fine.

Piggy 1 reacted to Booch in 25/26 CFL (Non Bombers) Off Season Threadnot to mention he was working with an OC with less than zero clue's as to what to do....and a self admitted HC who couldnt step in and offer some kind of help/system tweek as he also has no clue...ZC gets a somewhat a pass for last year...but if by game 6...he is being the ZC of the past 2 yrs....we need to do whatever we can to do an in-season transition

Bombers have created a spring Bantam 12 on 12 league this year.
Would be nice if we moved community football to the spring like every other province so we can actually run high school and up with proper resourcing in the fall.
In Winnipeg region we legitimately only have 6 officiating crews for minor football right through CJFL. They also are the stick/sideline crews for U Sports.

Piggy 1 reacted to Booch in 25/26 CFL (Non Bombers) Off Season ThreadZC with a new OC....good oline again and some legit targets is gonna do one of 2 things...Either have a late in career renaissance like Calvillo had and actually be a legit #1 and possibly another 2..3 really good yrs in him if the situation allows for it....Or he is gonna confirm the last 2 yrs of this spiral into crapsville is real and he is done. And we should do whatever we have to in the season if this is the case to address it and not wait for the off-season and really be hooped...if it means trading assets...Picks...or a legitimate performer so be it, but get it accomplished
If he shows a rebirth and his physical skills look like they are not degraded from previous season, then he could be a resigning on a 1 yr deal for 2027 at a reasonable price as we are hopefully grooming the 2028 guy....Not at the 600k price tag he has been getting...not even 500k...but more in the scope of what BLM has taken and if he doesnt like that deal....See ya later

Piggy 1 reacted to bigg jay in 25/26 CFL (Non Bombers) Off Season ThreadCollaros looked cooked 10 years ago because of his injuries - the fact he's healthy & still playing at all is remarkable.

Spring League ends mid June...

I can feel things heating up Elgersma is almost in Winnipeg. It's just a matter of time now. May as well purchase some cheap blend for the celebration.

Laviska Shenault would be a good CFL reciever...wonder what his interest would be...seemed to have flamed out in NFL for whatever reason

Piggy 1 reacted to FrostyWinnipeg in Game 68 : @We Got Us An Away TeamChat last night was all about gettings Torts. Which kinda makes sense. The Jets window is down to 2 years and Torts is only good for 2 years

Piggy 1 reacted to bigg jay in The TV ThreadShe was on a couple seasons ago too and wore some bison earrings to represent Manitoba. This is season 50 so they made it a big all-star season of returning players - gives you an idea of how well she did if she was asked to be a part of it. She's had a few players from her first season and this season up to Winnipeg - lots of Instagram pictures of them at Jets games.

Piggy 1 reacted to Booch in 25/26 CFL (Non Bombers) Off Season ThreadPowell in my opinion over the last several yrs looks to be the most promising and has all the tools, and seemed to possess the best technique....just needed play time.....prb get some now in Edm
i was wanting us to try and grab him a yr ago already

Piggy 1 reacted to CodyT in Game 67 : Chris HansenI was at the game tonight. I'm no expert but I thought the jets played well throughout. Not sure what to make of this team, although right now it seems like a one line team.
I think they deserved 2 points tonight. Another thought I've been having over the last 6 or so games, is although hellybuck can't be blamed for the losing games ( some real tough saves ) it would be nice if he made a few of those. It would be a difference maker at a time we could really use those.
Id really like playoff hockey. It's fun to watch

Piggy 1 reacted to BomberBall. in Game 67 : Chris HansenThe Jets should’ve won that game. They played better and dominated for stretches. The 2nd goal was a bit of a back breaker. We had multiple good scoring chances and had the Predators hemmed in their zone. Once again we gave up our blue line and it killed us. The Preds player was slowing up before our zone and instead of forcing him, we backed off and allowed him to enter uncontested. One pass and it’s in the net. You just can’t retreat in those situations. It has cost us so many times this season.

We'll get blown out, c'mon. And instead of getting a decent draft pick who might help us right awy, we'll pick a kid (probably an American) who we might see by 2030.
-
And still 5 points out.

Is Vaccaro a Demski kind of guy....after his 1st contract, he's likely to come home? I know he has a lot of ties to this community.
