  1. the year preseason games changed to glorified scrimmages.
  2. I think Prukop needs to have the game of his life to get a spot.
  3. I'm fully expecting the Bombers to get pummeled tomorrow.
  4. I don't think anyone counts Gray out. And to his credit, when he's in he's been very good. But "chance to start" is implying he hasn't been given an opportunity to win starting jobs...when he has. And has not been able to win those jobs.
  5. You new to preseason games?
  6. I'm expecting less than a quarter of work from Collaros. Hoping to see more of Borsa and Rene on Defence.
  7. I really liked his post game interview. Talked about his performance and some things he should have done better. But also addressed last years CGY game and how he was trying to be so careful with the ball to not create turnovers and hiw that mindset led to mistakes and Ultimately turnovers. I thought he looked far better than prukop and I expect him to be the #2 this year.
  8. I swear I saw something about a family day at the stadium for kids etc. Like they've done in the past with inflatable castles and games etc etc as well as ring pick up for season ticket holders. But i can't find anything...
  9. I used to like poke fun at how bad the CFL and or TSN was at marketing the game....It's no longer a joke. It's become a serious problem that the league needs to fix asap. This league is ******* doomed.
  10. But hey, we'll get to listen to some shitty ass country pop tune for the next 6 months! That'll get people pumped!
  11. I thought it was the right call, but I've hated that rule for a while now. What does it matter if a puck goes in off a skate?
  12. I could have sworn I saw an update saying they were going to be showing both bomber games. But I guess not. Lame.
  13. So TSN and the CFL have two employees/former players involved in this and couldn't even retweet this ****? lol. the NFL is advertising for their Thanksgiving games already. But yeah the ratio is the problem with the CFL. There just is no vision for growing this game it seems. I have no faith in the league to actually change what needs changing.
  14. I believe you have the CFL mixed up with the Justice system. The CFL is under no obligation to prove anything. Also **** Saunders. Hope a couple hours (yes this went on for hours) was worth the jail time. I'm guessing teams won't touch him and that he will likely be banned from signing a contract
  15. But won't this inevitably lead to the teams with the best Canadians getting more Canadian talent. I'm not sure it's a solution to anything, but I do see it creating more problems
  16. I'm going to stay off twitter for the rest of the day due to the south shooting stuff (it took over my afternoon/evening yesterday) so if anyone sees an update about the CBA please post it here!
  17. Cruz saying there should only be one way in and out of schools. And armed guards should be posted at said door. You see it's not that there are too many guns. There are too many doors. Schools that look and act like prison is the future! That's what the kids of America need! Ted Cruz is a brilliant brilliant man.
  18. Man I hope the game happens tomorrow. I'm done waiting for more football.
  19. But if the american talent would increase interest that much(like the owners are claiming) then why didn't we see interest in the XFL 2.0 or the USFL now etc etc. Other leagues have come and gone that had guys who were 1 or 2 steps down from the NFL.
  20. I want to believe you are right. But I just don't see it happening. That money would get eaten up by other positional players not QB's who many already think are paid handsomely.
  21. I'm not sure I believe that would happen with or without a ratio though. The CFL won't see the best talent until they pay significantly more. And that can happen, there are plenty of leagues all around the world that are not the best of the best, but still draw loads of interest. The CFL has work to do and they just don't seem to want to do it. Quick fixes will kill the CFL.
  22. You didn't. But the league has (According to Dave Naylor sooo..take that for what you will). They want the reduced ratio because they believe it will increase fan interest. Everything else that you wrote above I completely agree with. And that's why I've been saying the CFL needs to invest in grass roots football in this country (they have started but more needs to be done). And they need to focus on the image of the CFL rather than the product on the field. People who don't like the product won't all of a sudden like it because there is 1 less canadian., or because the rouge is gone or it's a 15 yrd penalty for no yards etc etc etc. That just doesn't make any sense.
  23. I'm not convinced that would bring in a significant amount of fans like the league is suggesting it would though, even a total elimination of the ratio. Like I said, fans who want a better on field product want an NFL level product. And ratio or not, that won't happen without NFL money. As it stands now, it sounds like the league is offering the 6-1 deal as a take it or leave it. Naylor was asked why the league wants that reduction in ratio, and his answer was they believe it will increase the level of play. Like I said 1 player isn't going to move the dial at all. And it's again more proof that the league doesn't understand it's own market and seems to only want to become NFL light.
  24. If that was really the case, they would have already. Investors don't hold on to investments just cause. Again, you're using what you've read in the media and assuming it's the truth. Real life is very much different. The owners want a profit. All of them. The league is going to ask for 1 player reduction Booch. 1 player isn't going to bring in more fans. 1 player isn't going to make any QB's play better or any WR's make better catches etc etc etc. If the league wants better players. They need better pay. The league thinks the casual fans want better overall play. But what the casual fans actually want is NFL level of play and that's just never going to happen. The issue with the league is not the ratio or the rules. It's the image and revenue. The ratio BS doesn't solve either of those things.
