308 yards , so well over? On a side note... how is it that the cfl.ca site in 2025 still cannot display stats properly? I remember going online and looking at game stats 20 years ago and was able to see every stat easily... yet last year for half of the season they had no stats and then this year they can't even display more then one qb at a time...

Network tv must be desperate to recapture some old glory from 20 years ago. I'll be surprised if this lasts more then 1 season.

Disagree... LaPo + Pierce leaving is what was the best for him. The knee injury sucks because in season 1 when LaPo allowed him to be a QB he was looking downfield and was easily able to roll out and buy himself more time to find receivers.

The D looked very promising. One playmaker on the d-line away from being really difficult.

Very slow still... he had open lanes to Rourke in the first quarter and was always a few steps short from getting a sack despite being untouched.

It would be hard to only pick three guys, the score really flattered BC. 1 - D-line holding Butler to under 30 yards. 2 - O-line for opening big holes for Peterson. 3 - Peterson for running hard and as Suitor mentioned making key blocks. HH - Griffin

Rourke was completely off in the first half , mentally was rattled. Had a few lucky big plays and not much else aside from feigning injury. Strev was mentally solid in the first but very rusty on his throws. Was much better in the 2nd half once he had time to make big plays.

Taking off my BLue tinted glasses.... I still say the refs gave BC several fringe calls while missing many fringe calls that could of went our way.

BC having no returners can also skew an opinion. The BC punter has turned the field twice on us during the game.

I'm late for the party here but god dang I'm glad CFL football is back on and that the Bombers played hard. Lots of positives with only a few negatives tonight.

I just hope he plays QB and doesn't end up bull rushing much at all.

I'll admit that I'm not following the league as much as I used to. Are we the only team doing this these days? I always thought the CFL was known for frequent turnover and basically only the all-stars would keep their jobs year in and year out?

He had "character" which is significantly more important then football skills and athletic ability.

I always thought in any sports that "character vets" were guys who rode the bench and did the motivation from a distance. They weren't inserted into the starting line up and replacing a better player on the rise.

The degradation or elite play of a QB can determine if a coach is great or dumb. I don't think Zach tossing lame ducks into triple coverage for the first half of the season helped with making Pierce looking good. Same thing happened before when Matt Nichols went noodle arm... suddenly the coaching seemed terrible when the guy wasn't able to throw a 15 yard pass. I'm sure it's a mixture of both which resulted in our team being wishy washy last season. Pierce is gone and if Zach played as poorly as he did last season then Hogan is going to also look like a dumb coach.
