They have Wilson and Strev coming off an injury. Dolegala also. I would be shocked if they spend any money on a back up this year.

Wilson should be veteran insurance in case they can't find a proper lb'er during training camp. What I worry is that in training camp they do find someone who shows flashes and they end up cutting the new guy because the fear of moving on with some growing pains.

The W/L is a deceiving stat for QB's sometimes... it's similar to the Mike Bishop 12-1 or whatever he was that one season. Darnold is a career back up and not a guy that is going to turn it around like a Baker Mayfield.

Keep both, if the Lions could afford a plethora of receivers surely we can as well.

I'm sure with a year older that Zach will bounce back and be the MOP he was several years ago. I'm sure Strev coming back from a big injury will also bounce back and light everything up.

WTF are people saying getting rid of Lawler? Dude was our best receiver and made some fantastic catches. Cutting top 3 in the league talent is crazy talk... similar to suggesting that we should of moved on from Willie. Crazy talk. Same with someone saying we should move on from Holm.... no. How about we cut the punter, the lbers, the d-line and the guys who never made any big plays at all last season.

I've seen where some families do have the money... while others try to "keep up with the Joneses". Doing silly things like maxxing out credit cards, going on trips they cannot afford, and buying luxury vehicles so that they are not excluded and left out. Some people take being in the hockey culture way to serious, as if life is over if they aren't "in the club".

The second hand market is done through marketplace more so then the stores these days. However I work with and know of several people who "have" to buy the newest and greatest gear each year because it seems to be a status symbol kind of thing. Part of being in the hockey culture I guess?

Loneliness will lead people to doing weird things. We see lots of similar behaviour online these days with how easy it is for people to contact/connect with people in the eye of the public. I assume Nate had a bad mixture of being lonely and being narcissitic.

I don't know, the community clubs around here are jam packed full of kids playing hockey. I am very thankful that I have two girls who are much more interested in significantly cheaper hobbies Soccer + Basketball is skyrocketing because of immigration. I don't think those sports are taking away potential superstars for hockey. I think the popularity of hockey elsewhere is helping those countries catch up (surpass?) Canada.

I am not opposed for us paying Willie what he deserves for one or two more seasons. He was the only one generating any sort of pressure up front last season... had he any sort of help on the line then I think his numbers would of been much better.

Is that really how he thought of the AHL from the start. I think it's a case of him trying to say the right things as he is tanking hard in the AHL this season and his value has dropped considerably.

Last season I didn't feel like our team was ever dominant. Even when we were struggling in the previous seasons we still had guys who could create turnovers and where the team could put away others with grinding them down on O. Last year we didn't have big play makers showing up game in and game out (Brady being the exception).
