  1. I completely agree with you, but still feel that Pavelec may be lacking. I would be willing to keep him around for another year though. This team was just starting to come around before Scheifele got injured (and I believe that was a HUGE blow, and the inability to replace him speaks to the lack of depth the organization still has). Pavelec deserves a chance with a better team in front of him, but I would still be looking to upgrade if the opportunity presented itself. He is only making 1.8 million, but he is also an RFA after this season. And he is sporting a .908 Save Pct. along with a 3.39 GAA this year... I wouldn't count on him being any better than Pavs.
  2. From what I have observed over the years, most CFL coaching staffs won't be scared off by his lack of production/play-time in the CIS... in fact, CIS production has been shown to have very little impact on draft position. It seems to me that most CFL teams just want the best athletes and believe that they can coach them up into real football players. I'm predicting second round for Thibault.
  3. Actually Brink is with Montreal currently.
  4. Hall is a far better QB and I find it shocking that anyone could disagree. It is not even debatable, IMO. And I don't even like Hall that much.

  6. Oh it's real.
  7. How do you know it's the people going to the stadium who are doing the bitching? I feel like it's the people who never leave their house who are the ones whining and crying about everything.
  8. OMG if the Vikings get Manziel I will just die. That would be awesome. Great mock, that was a good read.
  9. It's too easy to paint everybody with the same brush like that. It's very frustrating to watch him take wrist shots from just inside the blue line on a nightly basis. He has the skill level to be one of the best in the NHL, but he's not close. I'm not advocating to trade him just for the sake of trading him though. If we can't get a big haul, I wouldn't do it. Every goal scorer does that though. You can't score a goal if you don't put the puck on net and unless you expect guys to carry a huge shooting percentage like Stamkos not every shot is going to score. Like I said, guys who score 30 goals in the NHL are not that common and Kane is one of them at a young age. Be satisfied with what he is and don't expect him to be a super star. You're making it too black-and-white, as usual. Kane is particularly bad for this. With his natural talent, if he would simply put a little effort into learning the game and beating guys with his mind rather than just his body, he COULD be a superstar. That's what's so frustrating. Brett Hull used to say he was a good goal-scorer until he took the time to really understand the game... and that's when he became a GREAT goal scorer. No one is denying that Kane is a useful player and certainly one of the most dangerous offensive threats on the Jets. It's just that he could be so much more. Enough with the "Jets fans should just be grateful for what they have" mentality. What a loser way of thinking. Come down from your ivory tower in Calgary and realize that Jets fans are just like any other fans, they want their players to perform to their maximum potential.
  10. I'm not sure, I don't think I'd be upset either way. I'd still like to see Carlyle here, despite what's gone on in Toronto. I think we have a better roster than Toronto and Carlyle could take us to the playoffs if Chevy does a reasonable job in the offseason.
  11. No chance. Can I interest you in Bogosian for Hall and Gagner?
  12. MLSE can't buy an NFL team... it would have to be Ted Rogers himself. Corporations can't own NFL teams.
  13. That's for sure
  14. I saw this on Twitter but don't understand why people are freaking out. Who's he...? College star, former second round NFL draft pick. Great athlete but didn't make it in the NFL.
  15. Pretty sure he was on the Bombers' neg list for quite some time.
  16. Money and career trajectory aside, my biggest issue with Kane is that he simply just doesn't think the game well. He relies 100% on his speed and strength. Sure he'll get to 30 goals again. But he could be so much more. A guy like him should be an ace on the power play, but he is terrible out there. If he would just allow himself to be coached up a little bit, we might see him blossom into a true superstar. Maybe some of it is on the coaches that he has had so far. But when you see a guy firing bad angle shots indiscriminately, night after night, you realize that he probably has no interest in working on his mental game. He just wants to get the puck and fire it on net... but that's only half the battle. 30 goals come from being physically dominant, but the next 30 come from being in the right spot at the right time, and he has seemingly made no progress in that regard since day one in the league.
  17. Have to be careful with how you word that, because he blew past 20 goals once on his way to becoming one of the youngest guys to ever score 30. Then he got hit with a lockout season and it's not reasonable to count that. And he's likely to put 20 in the net this year. So really, 20 goals once in 5 years could easily turn into twice in 4 years in a hurry. And let's be honest, we know Atlanta rushed him. He may be in his 5th year but he's also 22 years old. It'll come. Probably but maybe not. A little humility until he actually proves something would go a long way towards getting people off his back. Though I'm sure he doesn't care.
  18. 6 million for a guy who has only surpassed 20 goals once in his 5 year career. That's why people ride him.
  19. True, but if Neufeld starts at tackle for us, I'm okay with missing out on those guys. I doubt either one makes it to pick 11 anyways.
  20. You believe way too much of what you read on the internet.
  21. I'm sorry but there is no way Gill drops to the third round. This is still a very weak draft, regardless of what people might try to say.
  22. Alexander just got cut from a team with possibly worse Canadian depth than the Bombers and Newman has a grand total of 8 career defensive tackles. The jury is definitely still out on what exactly we have to work with at safety. When all is said and done it might even be Matt Bucknor who sees the most time as our starting safety... just way too early to tell.
  23. I quit OB before it was even cool to quit OB
  24. I get what you're sayng, and it makes a lot of sense. However I believe that if you asked coaches and GMs around the league, they would unanimously agree that roster sizes in the CFL are too small. The argument that you can't develop players at the pro level doesn't fly for me. Look at Nick Moore's career trajectory since entering the CFL for an easy example. You can't make the argument that he hasn't developed as a player, even though he hardly saw the field in his first couple seasons.... It's not about taking some schlub and making him a star, it's about giving a talented athlete some seasoning and a little time to get used to the Canadian game.
  25. What, a guy who will never play pro football? I'd say you nailed it, then.
