Sorry I'm missing your opinion on this. You believe it's ok to abort a baby based on sex, and by extension, other perceived characteristics? Or it's not ok?

Not sure I follow. If the salary cap goes up and the minimum salary goes up along with it then I don't see how anyone is getting less.

You completely missed his point obviously. We are approaching a point in genetic science where we will be able to look at the genetic sequence of a child to determine some of its characteristics and vulnerabilities to disease. It's the same process that is used by 23andMe. Now imagine that soon-to-be parents have the genes of their unborn baby analyzed and they see something concerning... oh this child will have X disease or this child will be mentally challenged. The existence of a 'gay gene' is very controversial but the issue is far from settled. Someday there may be genetic indicators of homosexuality/bisexuality or other sexual preferences. Now parents decide... Well we better abort it. Is that ok? These issues are coming as science gets more advanced, there is no question about it.

CFL salaries have to go up. We'd see less of these retirements.

Seems like a little much. I'd just try to strongly persuade Toby to waive and then count on Vegas not taking him.

Sure hope so. I don't hate Toby but I honestly think Vegas wouldn't take him so this would be the best case scenario.

It's a false equivalency. If a fetus faces an abortion, it dies 100% of the time. If a refugee is turned away, they aren't necessarily going to die. The situations are totally different.

They are isolated from modern society, their team sucks, they are desperate, and Cox was their only good player last year.

It's impossible to predict what Vegas will do. They aren't just going to take the best player available from each team. I suspect many picks will leave people scratching their heads but will make sense to Vegas on a holistic level.- Cheveldayoff willing to move first round pick
Nothing, I don't mind it really... just didn't agree that he had done anything different in this case. Same non answer as always.- Cheveldayoff willing to move first round pick
Were those answers??? Seemed like the same old non-answer to me. I doubt the pick is moved.- The Phonebooth now known as "Bell MTS Place"
Corporate names are always going to be lame, MTS Centre vs Bell MTS Place makes little difference to me. Still better than Jobing.com arena or Gaylord Entertainment Centre.- Canadian Politics
If you all want to equate the situation of an unborn fetus with that of a refugee that's your prerogative but don't expect people to take you seriously. BTW I'm pro choice, I just think it's a ridiculous comparison.- Random News Items
Back problems or not, if the drugs you're on have you that intoxicated that you pass out behind the wheel, you shouldn't be behind the wheel. A prescription isn't a license to drive intoxicated. There's a reason they put those warnings on the bottle.- Canadian Politics
That would be a valid point if most refugees lives were in danger (some are, the vast majority are not). There is a big difference between importing 20-35 year old men en masse to our country and defending the rights of an unborn child who cannot defend itself.- Bombers Training Camp 2017 - May 28

That's too bad. I just saw that he is not anti-gay but I guess that's the best we can hope for from the conservatives in today's political climate.- Around the League - Training Camp Discussion
I'd be a lot more comfortable if Knox/Temple had some starting experience. I like how the Stamps do it.... bring in a vet and cut him if the rookie is better, ala MLBs Reed and Singleton last year.- Canadian Politics
I don't know much about the new Conservative leader Scheer but it seems that he is looking to be somewhat progressive. Hard to tell. Would be nice if we could have a party that sits in the centre more than the hard-right Harper conservatives and hard-left liberals/NDP. And don't try to convince me the liberals are in the centre.... that ship sailed long ago.- Canadian Politics
It's funny, most of Mulroney's policies today would be seen as very liberal... bringing in a new sales tax, taking a stand against Apartheid, and taking measures to protect the environment. Unfortunately people don't like new taxes and he had a face that just made you want to punch him... but looking back he actually had a very successful tenure as PM.- Bombers Training Camp 2017 - May 28
