  1. Looks like they're hoping he can play in Game 5. It would be a shame if he can't. IMO the Senators' games have been the most entertaining of the postseason so far, regardless of the hype around the Leafs/Caps series.
  2. Fleury/Helle instead of Helle/Hutch gets us into the playoffs, no doot aboot it
  3. Also keep in mind that the team likely still has hopes for Addison Richards.... if not he wouldn't be on the roster. Between him, the known resource in JFG, and the free agent pickup Matt Coates, I don't think they will be desperate for a receiver. We're talking about filling one receiver spot and it's the 5th receiver.... not a huge need IMO. But I'd be pleased to see Vandervoort or Behar here for sure.
  4. Yeah I think you're right. I've always had to scan my ticket in/out when going to Moxie's. I wonder how Moxie's management feels about the change. Or maybe they are owned by True North?
  5. Yeah. I don't know how it could possibly escalate to the point where they are threatening to arrest the passengers. Just crazy.
  6. My understanding is that the issue arose because the airline wanted to place someone in the unused seat, which makes sense. That's how it should work. I don't understand why the family couldn't just have the child in their lap like they were originally planning. The overall handling of the situation by the airline was very poor once it was clear what was happening. But how are they supposed to know that an unused seat was going to be used by a child who didn't have a seated ticket to begin with? They would have no clue until they actually saw it happening, in the plane. By which point the person who had been given the 'unused' seat has already had their luggage loaded and has entered the plane.
  7. Hmm I think that's selling him short just a bit. He's not average and he's not Pavelec. He's a former first overall pick with a career .912 save percentage, 3 Stanley Cup final appearances and 2 Stanley Cup wins (albeit "just" 2 appearances and 1 win as the starter). And it's not like he was playing for a team that just dominated.... that Cup winning Pens team in 2009 had to battle hard for 7 games against a dominant Red Wings team that had just beaten them the year before. The image of Fleury diving across the net in the final moments of Game 7 to save the win is iconic. He's a surefire hall-of-famer and he's showing it again this year. Without question he would be an improvement over what we have now and would be better than anyone available in free agency. Marc-Andre Fleury for goalie, Mayor, Premier, and Prime Minister of Canada. God bless America.
  8. I'm getting the feeling we will not be taking Ekakatie at #1 and we also will not be selecting anyone at #6... that pick will be moved. Just a gut feeling.
  9. http://aldf.org/resources/laws-cases/animal-fighting-case-study-michael-vick/ The details are pretty damn gruesome and it's clear that Vick was involved.
  10. Thanks Rich that clears it up. So like I thought, it is in Fleury's hands to decide where he ends up. I personally don't see him waiving his NMC and certainly not to come to Winnipeg. However maybe we could pry Matt Murray out of Pittsburgh. I'd pay a king's ransom. Any draft picks are on the table and so is anyone not named Scheifele, Laine, or Ehlers.
  11. I'm still a little unclear over whether the Pens must protect Fleury or not. Presumably if we are comfortable with Fleury for the next 2 years then we could expose Helle and tab Comrie as the goalie of the future (which he really is, anyways). On the other hand I'm still not sold on Vegas necessarily taking Helle if he's available.
  12. On one hand it's absolutely disgusting what Vick did. On the other hand, he served his time in jail and since then has become an activist for animal rights. Just to change his public image? Maybe. Or maybe he legitimately wants to atone for what he did. No second chances?
  13. Sometimes great teams have to get rid of great players. I'm looking at this more like the Pens are increasing the haul they are gonna receive from someone for Fleury. Of course Fleury still has that pesky NMC so maybe he simply refuses to waive it and they have to lose Murray. It's an interesting situation. No one can force him to waive that NMC. EDIT: Actually on looking a little closer I guess it is a modified NTC rather than an actual NMC. In that case I believe it's almost certain he will be traded, regardless of this playoff push.
  14. IF Trump lasts for the next 4 years, he is going to be so ******* exhausted and desperate to leave the White House that there is no way this happens. Forget a coup, the man isn't even going to run for a second term. Besides that, I think "democracy" is something almost all Americans can agree on, even those in the so-called alt-right. The only people I've ever seen advocate for a non-democratic society are far-left anarcho-communists/socialists and they are so far removed from reality that their opinion really doesn't matter.
  15. Smokers love to smoke during any break in anything, ever.
  16. I don't recall ever leaving the MTS Centre during a Jets game or concert and re-entering. I've gone to the attached Moxie's but I'm guessing this isn't included. Maybe it is... I don't know, they neglect to mention that.
  17. Are you sure? Maybe you've been sleep-writing
  18. https://jetsnation.ca/2017/03/31/mathieu-perreaults-next-contract-has-already-been-paid-for/
  19. If we go 7-3-1 the pick is almost certainly Myers. If we go 4-4-1 we lose Perreault, Lowry, or Armia, depending on what Vegas needs and whether they are going all-in on the future or they think they can compete in this upcoming season. I'd rather lose Lowry than Perreault. Bottom six centers aren't that hard to find. Top six players are. And Perreault can play center and wing and is locked in for the next 4 years at a decent salary.
  20. Who cares if we lose Helle if we have a better goalie? And what makes you so sure Vegas would take him anyways? May find it shocking but not everyone around the league looks at our sub-average goaltending and sees a star-in-waiting.
  21. It's not about the numbers. Kris Robertson ran a 4.4 and he's not even employed. Wright started at safety for 2 years in the NCAA div 2 and was great at the combine. He's exactly what we need to back up Loffler. If Loffler goes down now, we're putting an American in his place. With Wright, we might not have to. Even at 210 pounds he ran a 4.6 and had the second best shuttle time. Agile, physical, and experienced. That's why people are excited.
  22. Yeah.... Lawless was still the only guy with inside scoops on the CFL until Dunk came along. Dunk seems to do a pretty damn good job now though.
  23. He was actually a mini-camp invite. Didn't even have a contract. Very rare for those guys to earn contracts but both he and Linden Gaydosh did it. Guys in that situation this year are Jordan Herdman, Kwaku Boateng, Christophe Mulumba, Alex Morrison, and Felix Menard-Briere. In 2015 the NY Giants basically invited the entire CFL scouting top 20 to their mini-camp but none of them got contracts.
  24. Jeff's a veteran guy and he's been through his own set of issues so he may be more chill and forgiving than someone else in his position.
