Radford is Canadian so it is national for national. Riders are planning on starting a Canadian safety but they don't have any good players there so that may explain it. And apparently 3 years in and Vonk was still getting his ass kicked in training camp every day.

Sounded like Kohlert was having trouble hanging onto the ball last night in Calgary's pre-season game. They've got a few good Canadian receivers over there (Parker, Brescacin, Durant) so it wouldn't surprise me to see him out of a job when the season arrives. It's too bad, he was so good for awhile here.

Pretty sure he was never actually on the active roster. He got cut after training camp in 2015 and went back to school. Then he got added to our PR in September 2016, came back for camp this year, and now he's gone.

So long? He was draft eligible this year. I'd say he found his way up here pretty quick.

Bombers picked up 6'3", 230 lbs receiver Dan Williams out of Jackson State. He signed with the Raiders shortly after this year's draft but was released. Bombers also released Canadian 2015 sixth round pick Justin Warden. EDIT: OK never mind this is in the Around the League discussion thread.

That field level view isn't helping. I had a hard time seeing what was going on and which players were in which spots. But that doesn't excuse the first week at IGF.

With 4 DIs I think having a great kicker is possibly the best use of a DI spot. We saw first hand the impact that Medlock had. Could an additional backup receiver or linebacker have even remotely close to the same impact on the team? Even with Medlock you have room for 3 other guys which could be a DB/returner, WR/returner, and additional DL for rotating in. It would be nice to get a guy like Flanders on the roster but is it worth it for 3-5 carries per game?

Yeah I thought the same thing. It's a ridiculous name but at least they found a way to make it work. I don't agree on the booking. I think Bayley has been getting pushed. She is getting the title spots. She is going to be the ultimate underdog story and you don't get that without looking like the management is against you. There will be lots of time for Bayley and she doesn't seem to be losing fans. Plus Alexa Bliss is the greatest thing to happen to women's wrestling since... I don't even know. I can't recall anyone like her. Incredibly attractive, totally believable in her character, and pretty decent in the ring and still improving. She's the best.

Scott Macdonell never really lived up to his potential in Ottawa. But did he get a legit chance? With our lack of Canadian depth right now, I wouldn't mind bringing him in for a look and see what he's got.

Well kinda. He's going to lose to Lesnar in a month lol. Gotta be nice for him to get a big win though.

There were a lot of other problems in 2012. Lapo lost control of the offence to Crowton. Both our starting tackles got injured and the "depth" behind them was terrible. We had multiple injuries in the secondary which in addition to cutting Clint Kent really brought us down. Joe Lobendahn was released after being a key part of the 7-1 run in 2011. Buck got injured and our backups couldn't cut it. Just a disaster all around. I don't see the same lack of player depth and turmoil in the coaching staff this year.
