Yes... it may come down to a competition between Coates and Yachison. They have a similar amount of pro experience and Coates being hurt isn't helping his cause. I wouldn't be that surprised if they keep both along with JFG however. Deal with the logjam if and when Richards gets healthy.

Chris Greenwood actually arrived last year and spent most of the year on the practice roster. He has some NFL experience (2012 5th round pick). Good size, 6'1" 200 lbs.

The thing about Elliott was that he had a gunslinger mentality with no arm strength or mobility. Not a great combo.

You can put me in the "not sold" on Nichols boat. I like him. I thought he was pretty great last year. But his body of work is still so small and pre-2016 he was average at best. I'm eager to see what he does this year and I'm hoping for the best. But I've seen an awful lot of Bomber QBs who looked good one year and then like garbage the next.

It was very unusual. I can't recall ever seeing a #4 QB going in second in a pre-season game.

Franklin looked damn good running their offence against Calgary. I thought EDM might have some trouble in their receiving corps this season but it looks like they have a couple studs in Zylstra and D'haquille Williams. This will be a good test for our secondary. Kinda surprised that Reilly won't be playing, though. I still have my doubts about Edmonton. I'm not sold on their OL, running game, or secondary.

Makes me question why we brought in such an inexperienced prospect if we weren't willing to put in some measure of time to allow him to improve. What were we expecting? That he would actually be quick with his decision-making after throwing the ball 10 times per game in college? I don't know. I've been really underwhelmed with our QB scouting since Walters took over. I don't see the point in bringing in long-shot oddball QBs like Robert Marve and Apodaca. And clearly we haven't been getting results out of it because none of them have stuck and all our current QBs have come from other teams.
