  1. how was our rush D last year with Bass?
  2. You think a guy who is winning games will be moved to backup?
  3. You might be upset now but we actually waited until the seventh round.
  4. I like to throw it in the fridge for 30-60 minutes before serving. It should be cool but not cold. A common misconception is that it should be served at room temperature... warm red wine isn't good for anyone.
  5. Guys, guys, guys.... we're going to start 5 American receivers and Sam Hurl at MLB
  6. How can the argument be overly cynical when it has already happened, in regards to the sex of the child (aborting female babies disproportionately)? Is it that much of a stretch to think the same issue might crop up in regards to other characteristics? I don't disagree with any of this.
  7. Like I just said, they are similar in that they could impact a person's decision to keep a baby or abort it. That's all. You are arguing against yourself unless you disagree with that simple statement, and I'm not sure whether you do because you have avoided it by claiming I'm saying something I'm not. LOL yes, all people fit nicely into little buckets like this. There are no people out there with progressive viewpoints who might behave differently if faced with a decision regarding their own child, nope, none at all. You need to step outside the echo chamber some time and realize that society isn't just "enlightened liberals" vs "stupid conservatives". There's a grey area and yeah, that's where most people reside.
  8. It's similar in that it is something that greatly affects the life of the person and parents could potentially use it as a justification for an abortion, which is what the question is about. Is it okay to abort a baby based on predicted characteristics? Does it matter? If a gene is discovered that predicts autism and parents start aborting 90% of babies that show this gene is that okay? If a gene is discovered that predicts homosexuality and parents start aborting 90% of babies that show this gene is that okay? Sexual orientation and health conditions are obviously very different things but the similarity is in the fact that both could be used by parents to decide whether to keep or abort a baby.
  9. Sorry I'm missing your opinion on this. You believe it's ok to abort a baby based on sex, and by extension, other perceived characteristics? Or it's not ok?
  10. Bake him away, toys!
  11. Not sure I follow. If the salary cap goes up and the minimum salary goes up along with it then I don't see how anyone is getting less.
  12. You completely missed his point obviously. We are approaching a point in genetic science where we will be able to look at the genetic sequence of a child to determine some of its characteristics and vulnerabilities to disease. It's the same process that is used by 23andMe. Now imagine that soon-to-be parents have the genes of their unborn baby analyzed and they see something concerning... oh this child will have X disease or this child will be mentally challenged. The existence of a 'gay gene' is very controversial but the issue is far from settled. Someday there may be genetic indicators of homosexuality/bisexuality or other sexual preferences. Now parents decide... Well we better abort it. Is that ok? These issues are coming as science gets more advanced, there is no question about it.
  13. CFL salaries have to go up. We'd see less of these retirements.
  14. Is Coates out too? Let's get Spencer Watt in here already.
  15. Seems like a little much. I'd just try to strongly persuade Toby to waive and then count on Vegas not taking him.
  16. Thought he played for the Bisons last year
  17. Sure hope so. I don't hate Toby but I honestly think Vegas wouldn't take him so this would be the best case scenario.
  18. It's a false equivalency. If a fetus faces an abortion, it dies 100% of the time. If a refugee is turned away, they aren't necessarily going to die. The situations are totally different.
  19. They are isolated from modern society, their team sucks, they are desperate, and Cox was their only good player last year.
  20. It's impossible to predict what Vegas will do. They aren't just going to take the best player available from each team. I suspect many picks will leave people scratching their heads but will make sense to Vegas on a holistic level.
  21. Nothing, I don't mind it really... just didn't agree that he had done anything different in this case. Same non answer as always.
  22. Were those answers??? Seemed like the same old non-answer to me. I doubt the pick is moved.
  23. Corporate names are always going to be lame, MTS Centre vs Bell MTS Place makes little difference to me. Still better than Jobing.com arena or Gaylord Entertainment Centre.
  24. If you all want to equate the situation of an unborn fetus with that of a refugee that's your prerogative but don't expect people to take you seriously. BTW I'm pro choice, I just think it's a ridiculous comparison.
