  1. I am surprised but I also had the feeling O'Shea wasn't going to be taking out Brian Walker. I'm surprised it is a release though. I guess he makes too much money to sit on the bench.
  2. Top 3 in the league as I said earlier this season. By the end, everyone will be saying it.
  3. Family, religion, friendship. These are the three demons you must slay if you wish to succeed in football.
  4. Edmonton not as good as their record.... Ottawa better than their record.... hmm.... Ottawa wins!
  5. I think confidence plays a part in it. A player in BC might be saying "Hey I'm good enough to play now." They might even look at Saskatchewan and say "Wow, I could start on their OL right now." I think that is the root of the decision. Players believing that they are better than the PR. Some might be right, some might be wrong. But guys who make it to the pro ranks are usually not short on self-confidence so they might be willing to take the risk.
  6. So what's the point of bringing up how fortunate these players are to be making the PR salary? Just for fun?
  7. It's the most ridiculous thing to argue. It's like an employee going into the boss's office looking for a raise and the boss starts lecturing the employee on how much the bums outside would love to be making his salary.
  8. It doesn't matter if $15,000 would be a great paycheque for a person in poverty. When someone offers you a drastically higher payday than what you're getting, do you sit there and say "Oh well I'm already doing better than a poor person, why do I need even more?" Nobody thinks like that and it would be absurd to expect someone to.
  9. Yeah I thought the same thing. But their house show ads have always seemed to live in a different universe than what they are showing on RAW and Smackdown. I guess it comes down to business vs. kayfabe. If you know Brock is going to be there, you advertise it now to get ticket sales.... **** the storyline lol.
  10. Yeah they were advertising that on commercials during RAW last week. The lineup for the Winnipeg show looks spectacular.
  11. Right. It's really all about balance and working with what you have. Calvillo, under Trestman, was also very good at getting the ball away quickly so it lessened the need for him to have extra blocking. Add the near-telepathic level of communication between Calvillo and Cahoon and then you've really got something.
  12. QB needs to get the ball away quickly when he recognizes they are outnumbered. There are always going to be sacks. More blockers will result in more coverage sacks, throwaways, knockdowns and interceptions because there will be fewer targets. Our OL in 2009 allowed the fewest sacks because they had Jon Oosterhuis on the field as an extra blocker all the time. But the offence suffered overall. It's not as simple as just using more blockers.
  13. Right. 15k versus at least 52k for someone on the active roster. Plus the opportunity to actually play. You'd have to be pretty damn confident in your current situation (or lacking the confidence in your ability to play) to turn down that offer from another team. More money and more opportunity.
  14. Does it not trouble you that your prized FA signing left tackle is being moved inside to guard? Before the season, many in riderland were talking about all your NI depth on the OL, like when Vonk got traded there was no room for him with all the talent you already have. Now you don't have any Canadians capable of playing guard? That would be concerning to me. Guy and Bladek are "only centres", and JSJ is what?
  15. Still, even with housing, the PR pay is terrible. Can't blame any player for taking the opportunity to get off the PR as soon as they can.
  16. Dangerous in the sense that we won't have accurate film on some of the stuff they might do. Hamilton gave Edmonton a run for their money. They have some talent and are going to win at some point. I don't think we should be afraid but this is exactly what a trap game looks like.
  17. Vera's on Osborne.... give it a try
  18. Well he did go to training camp with the Riders. After we traded him for the rights to Drew Willy.
  19. So Hamilton is effectively going into this game with a new OC and DC as it sounds like June Jones is running the offence in practice. Could be dangerous depending on how much new stuff they show.
  20. Not unusual at all. Happened with Josh Morrissey as well.
  21. I can see the argument for not drafting Richards in the first place but I don't see what we lost by keeping him around.
  22. There is no chance in hell that Trump ends up in jail.
  23. They ran a split back set at times last game
  24. What's the lesson?
