Imo, Hubbard, Green, & Patrick are the three most interesting American rookies to watch.

Bullshit. The guy plays his balls off. He was an offensive glory boy early in his career, but not anymore. Their loss to the Pens certainly can't be pinned on him. A guy like Semin fits the stereotype, and there is no comparison between those two players.. Edit: Regarding your first sentence, if this was true Evander Kane would be a star. Ovie leads the league in shots every year and still has a career shooting % over 12%

We should trade the pick for a donkey, two pig's ears, and a sack of magic beans. Discuss.

I didn't see a problem with the pick. They've got one unproven kicker and a subpar punter on the roster. Hamilton & TO could have both potentially taken him. They're not exactly rich with kicking talent. -
Glad that trade fell apart. Got our guy and kept the extra pick.
-
Maybe they'll trade for Fleury. He may be available...

Check out Jesse Briggs' wiki page... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jesse_Briggs

I pretty much agree with you, other than these two changes. It's nice to see that a few respectable Canadian players might not be able to make our roster.

Royal Blue uniforms are officially back!!

Exactly. Why think for yourself when somebody else can do it for you. -
I was kidding about not liking what he saw here.
-
Jernigan has been put on our retired list. I guess he didn't like what he saw while he was in Winnipeg...

Ehlers was a year older for his first season in the NHL though. For comparison, Eichel had 56 points as an 18 year old, but 21 of them came on the pp. It's hard to know how much time Laine will be given on the pp. If he's not on our 1st unit it will be hard to match those numbers.
-
Imagine what Laine could do on a line with Stempniak! Make it happen Chevy, you can't mess up on him twice.
-
None of them winning would be a robbery imo. They all had very good seasons. I'll be very interested to see how Gostisbehere does next season. I'm not sure I buy that he's really this good.
-
Hopefully we sign Stempniak this summer and reverse the mistake we made last year.

It's About Time The Bombers Did This

Exactly. They can be honoured while keeping the number in circulation. -
McDavid would be my choice. He was the best rookie on the league, but the amount of time he missed will probably cost him the award. My ranking is McDavid, Gostisbehere, Panarin, but my guess is Panarin wins.

Such a stupid argument. Saw a stat from a Pittsburgh reporter that said there's a total of one game missed for suspensions from shots at Crosby. There have been some blatant cheap shots on him go unpunished, like Downie's slewfoot and Staal's crosscheck to the back of his head. Just in this series there was a brutal knee to Sheary that went unpunished. I'd give Letang one game for his hit last night. Not nearly as late as Orpik's, imo not as blatant of an attempt to catch his head, and there was no injury (which is stupid to consider but is NHL criteria).

There's a guy on riderfans arguing that this is unfair to the Riders b/c those eight extra players who get drafted by other teams would have likely preferred to be Riders, but now they've had that chance taken away. He's being serious too... -
They want a dman back.
-
Lol. It's ok to admit you underestimated Stempniak. 10 points in 19 games with barely a sniff of the pp. This season he outscored, among others, Hartnell, Marleau, Iginla, Ladd, & Zetterberg. All guys who play big pp minutes. He's half-man, half-amazing.
-
Couple of weak goals on Murray last night. Also a brutal play by Daley at the blueline which led to the ot goal. Good game overall though. Wilson should get a game for that knee on Sheary.
-
It'll be weird seeing any of the Preds, Blues, or Sharks in the conference finals. All are perennial playoff underachievers.
-
So you're saying more is expected from guys with bigger contracts? Thanks for clearing that up.

Isles hit the lottery by falling out of the Metro division into a wild card spot. Pens would have crushed them in round 1.
