  1. Our D held the Esks to fewer yards passing & rushing, and did it in their home stadium. In the Riders prior four games, they gave up an average of nearly 30 pts/gm playing against Mtl, TO, Ottawa, & us. Hughes has two sacks in the last five games, and they came against the two worst OL's in the league. They're good for sure, but I don't think they've been dominant lately.

There's been much worse stuff happen in boxing than what we saw this weekend. They've always been allowed back. The only thing that really bothered me was the guy who came in from the crowd and punched McGregor. That could have been so much worse.

    Edit
  4. Goal post or not, he wasn't going to be in position to break up that pass.
  5. That's a better point than pretending there's been an exodus of great talent leaving to star elsewhere.
  6. Is it not an assumption that you're making about the availability of cap space?
  7. We're on a one game winning streak.
  8. Love Stu. Happy to see him get a job with the organization.
  9. You can't. You need to work harder to get the vote out on your side.

Serra fight is kind of cherry picking. That's his only one under 500k, and it was very early in his career. Serra was also thought of as a plug who only got his shot bc he won a reality show against a bunch of other plugs. At the height of his popularity, GSP was drawing 750k ppv buys fighting guys like Koscheck and Dan Hardy, hardly big name guys. Jones has been at or under 350k buys in three of his last five fights.

The two DC fights drew big numbers. Otherwise, his numbers have been a little underwhelming for somebody who, with one exception, has only been in title fights for the last few years. IMO he needs a big name opponent to draw big numbers.

Yeah, apparently he also had ties to a terrorist organization...weird. There are some shady characters in the fight game.

The McGregor-Khabib press conference yesterday was weird without fans allowed in. I think the UFC made a mistake closing it to the fans. There's so much more energy when there are people cheering them on. They've got enough money to beef up security to keep the two sides apart. Don't know if any of you saw McGregor arguing with Khabib's manager after the face off, but McGregor was yelling "Where's Noah?" at him. Apparently the guy abandoned his family and owes approx. $40k in child support (for Noah). McGregor certainly does his homework on his opponents.

I don't think he ever has. He's put up some good numbers, but he's not at the same level as Rousey, GSP, Lesnar, or McGregor. He doesn't have a fight anywhere in the top 20 ppv's for UFC. He's very unlikeable, but not in a marketable way like Chael Sonnen, for example, was.
  15. I remember reading that Montgomery was asked, but declined. I liked Casher too, but he's on the Lions pr now.
  16. I'm not sure that needed to be clarified. I'm aware we can't force guys to come to Winnipeg and join our pr, but there must be some decent young de without a job we could have had talked into it.
  17. The de situation seems weird to me. When Jeffcoat went down, we had to sign some guy off the street and dress him a few days later so we could have enough guys for our regular rotation. Why wouldn't we have at least one guy on the pr ready to go?
  18. I also won't be surprised if he doesn't end up over those totals.
  19. Why will that get in his head?
  20. I thought the Sharks would win their division prior to this trade. They just got a lot better.
  21. Pierre LeBrun‏Verified account @PierreVLeBrun Told that the official trade call was just completed. Erik Karlsson has been traded to the San Jose Sharks
  22. That would be great. I'm not sure I see Connor putting up 30+ this year if he's not on that line though.
  23. B/c we know Connor is good for 30+ goals with them and Laine was fine without them.
  24. fantasy hockey question: I was offered Vesalainen and Hoffman for Debrusk and Kase. Dynasty league with 18 active, 8 player reserve, and 20 minor league spots. Pretty much every stat counts. Would you make this trade?
