From Jeff Bannon's FB page, there was a discussion about Kevin Glenn's .700 winning percentage since coming to Calgary. Someone called out Kelly for cutting him, and lo and behold, Kelly showed up and explained himself: Mike Kelly you're welcome Cary! Kevin got himself in shape, lost the braces and became focused again so I'm glad the change of scenery motivated him to improve...now I'm sure you also understand the business side of those decisions too, right? Each year is different and there are a lot of things you simply do not know. Our record from 2009 would be a play-off team this year so it's pretty difficult to give equal measure to different years. 2009 Montreal was 15-3, what are the now? Always trade weight for speed at the DT spot. Doug Brown has always talked about how much weight he had to lose when he came north because he just couldn't run as much as he needed to. This isn't the NFL (thank goodness...)

the more I think about it, the more I think the draft picks shoulda been conditional. If Hall bolts for the NFL, then they get the 2nd rounder as a sort of compensation, and we get a 4th, but if he re-signs there, then this REALLY looks silly on our part.....so no draft picks should move...

I'm not totally sure how I feel about all this just yet, but I gotta think that Walters did his diligence and this was the only deal available. If it was the ONLY deal you could make before Weds, then so be it, but I'm not convinced that it'll work out for us. There is a lot of speculation that Neufeld is very injury prone and may not play that much longer. And giving up the 2nd rounder for a 4th is really really dumb.

Fans are morons and can't be left in charge... I wouldn't let any government agents near these selections. You may as well keep the board the way it is if that's the case. The city and province both appoint board members currently. Some strong arguments for communist dictatorship here from some of the most conservative posters. I'm curious who people feel should be at the very top of the food chain. At the end of the day, SOMEONE has to have final say. There has to be a top of the pyramid.......so who should it be??

Only way this idea works is if there is a pre-selected pool of "candidates" that the fans get to choose from. If it's an open-nomination situation where the fans get full selection on the board, God help us all.....
