  1. Burris might be more "marketable" than Glenn, too...for what that's worth...
  2. Burris has to be done in Ham now....HAS TO...
  3. *fart noise*.......this was done midway through the 2nd quarter. I'm just counting down the time on the clock till we can resume business and start building 2014...
  4. GC101 = *fart noise*
  5. Stegall with a melon on his head....getting that much closer to having his spot removed from the WFC HOF...
  6. Nah, what I get outta that article is that Barker's screwed. I think Collaros, his agent, and Walters are all working together and trying to save the Bombers from trading too much to get him. He knows he's going to Winnipeg, so he's trying to maximize the deal for them. If he doesn't sign with the Argos, then the Bombers get him for next-to-nothing. This is a done deal, IMO...
  7. Well, I dunno about you guys, but I'm a CFL fan. Back around 2003, I had a roommate who, to this day, is the most die-hard CFL fan I've ever known. He's also a Rider fan, which is a shame, but he's one of the few good ones. He knows about as much about the rest of the league as he does about the Riders, and can talk intelligently about the league, as a whole, so that's alright. That guy made me realize just how important it is to watch the GC every single year. Even if your team's not in it, it's still the Grey Cup. It's an event, like the Super Bowl.. It doesn't matter who's in it...it's a huge national event. Sucks that the Bombers aren't in it, and yeah I hate the TiCats and Riders, but Goddamnit, it's the Grey Cup, and I'm excited to park, it in my chair and watch the whole thing.
  8. ...In my mind, he'd be unquestionably the greatest of all time, if he had ANY kind of work ethic.
  9. All of the bellyaching is based on unfounded information at this point. You may all turn out to be right, but it's too soon to tell. Let's wait and see what Kyle does.
  10. The problem is that, other than Higgins (whose qualifications are questionable), the person you are looking for doesn't exist. If they really did their research and determined that Walters is the best guy out there, then I have no problems with it.
  11. ...also of note, going in next year: Uzooma Okeke (awesome!), Ben Cahoon, Neil Lumsden (for his CIS work) and some Coach/GM named Wally...
  12. ...as per Penton. Congrats Blink!!
  13. Yeah, I was thinking "assholes stick together"...
  14. ...and for what it's worth, Madani says "If Jones is indeed Esks new HC, look for Doug Berry to be his OC..."
  15. ...the hell.....what happened to Hughey Jr?
  16. The impression I got from reading the papers all week is that Miller has been talking to everyone and anyone during GC week in Regina. If he talked to a bunch of front-office types from other teams who said "We like Kyle, we respect Kyle, we'd have no problem working with Kyle as an equal in the league..." then, I've got no problem with them moving forward with him. If they get McManus or someone like that to work the connections south of the border while KW does the CIS stuff that he's clearly gifted at, then what the hell. Just because he's an "easy" hire, doesn't make him a bad one. Time will tell if this is the right move, but for the time being, I'm willing to give it a shot. Now, who the hell do we get as HC...
  17. http://ht.ly/r69YU Kyle Walters all but official as Winnipeg Blue Bombers GM 0 FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 22, 2013 01:45 PM CST is all but official that the Winnipeg Blue Bombers will make Kyle Walters their permanent general manager, and it will likely happen early next week. According to a CFL source, Walters has told at least one potential head coaching candidate that he will have the interim tag removed from his title. Walters, who became Winnipeg’s assistant general manager last December, has been the team’s interim GM since four days after Joe Mack was fired in mid-August. There has been speculation the Bombers might ask around the league and interview other GM candidates, but that does not appear to be the case. It has been expected for some time that Walters was going to get the job full-time, even though there are more qualified and experienced candidates out there. After Walters is officially installed as the GM, the next task for the rebuilding Bombers will be to name a head coach and then have him construct a coaching staff. According to the source, the Bombers have asked for permission to speak to Toronto Argonauts defensive co-ordinator Chris Jones and Calgary Stampeders defensive co-ordinator Rick Campbell. Winnipeg is also expected to ask for permission to speak to Saskatchewan Roughriders quarterbacks coach Khari Jones, who appears to be the leading candidate to get the gig in Winnipeg thanks in large part to his relationship with Miller. The Bombers have to wait until after the Grey Cup if they want to speak with Jones. There are reports the Bombers have also asked for permission to speak to Argos special teams co-ordinator Mike O’Shea, who has connections to Walters, about the head coaching gig. In addition, the Sun reported earlier this week there are rumblings that Canadian Football Hall of Fame quarterback Danny McManus, currently the head U.S. scout for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, is being eyed by the Bombers, likely for the assistant general manager position .
  18. Those guys swore up and down during the pre-game of the last Bombers/TiCats game, that there was absolutely no way they'd be behind schedule at any point. They had assurances, and yada yada yada. They were snickering about what happened with the Bombers site, and said without any hesitation that it wouldn't happen to them and everything would be done on time, no questions asked. God, how I'd love to see them get ****** right around, too...to hell with those guys.
  19. totally where I'm at...
  20. While I'm not declaring Willy a world-beater yet, I'd say that I like what I've seen from him about as much as Collaros or more. I'm no more sold on Collaros than I am on Willy.
  21. exactly. And to the poster who said "so you'd take Taman back??" -- Yes, in a heartbeat.
  22. It'll be a small fine...
  23. It's so unfortunate that the moniker "Old Boys Club" has gained a bad rap, 'cause there's something to be said for it...
  24. And as for the SMS, they basically had no choice, as there was so much pressure to win this year at home. In fact, if reports are to be believed, he was told to "do whatever it takes" and that they'd worry about any potential SMS cap penalties later...
  25. I finally saw the Big Bang episode where Sheldon used the line you have adopted. Funny stuff. we're pretty sure they have hidden cameras in his house, so they can record new dialogue for Sheldon to say on the show...
