I can appreciate that, but the off season doesn't seem that long to me anymore, especially with the NHL going till June. I used to think the same way you did. Now Bomber games are just sort of a task rather than being a highlight of the week. Ya, and I can understand the apathy that leads to that, I suppose, but I guess I'm just not there yet...not sure I ever could be. Win or lose, I absolutely love watching CFL ball and especially Bombers ball. I like hockey for sure, but CFL/Bombers and Curling (I know, I know...) will always be ahead of that for me, personally. But, again, I totally get some people's apathy at this point...

I get what a lot of you are saying...and I understand, to a degree, but man....I think about the offseason and how much it sucks with no games on, and I treasure each and every week of Bombers football. I've got the PVR set for tonight, and I'm gonna race home from work to catch it. Whisky ready to pour. I just can't bear to ever miss a game. Don't get me wrong, I'll have the Jays game on "Last Channel" (Unfortunately no coverage of the Oilers game out here...) but the Bombers is my #1 priority. We only get so much Bombers ball, no matter how bad you might think the season is, gotta treasure each game. Hopefully at least a decent game and not a blowout at half time...

If they ever took away the ratio, or even making it a smaller number, I'd lose a lot of interest. I don't love this league because I'm some huge football fan....I love it because I'm a rabidly proud Canadian. This is our game...anything that detracts from the Canadiana end of it is bad, in my books.

I think you can collectively bargain around certain laws. Such as anti trust etc. I would think this would be one of those too No you can't. The only American sports league to be exempt from anti-trust laws is MLB. Rich was right about American labour laws being the reason the American teams didn't have to deal with the ratio. Then how does the NHL work? Or any sport that employs Canadian citizens. The players have to be demonstrated as better than an American. It's recognized Canadian hockey players are. Football is different. You mean CFL is different? Cause NFL would probably have to work the same way. A hockey player isnt better because he's Canadian. There a many American hockey players better than many Canadian hockey players. I think sports leagues get a "pass" I disagree.....but that's just me /DonCherryFanBoi

Honestly, I'm just a bigger fan of CFL than NHL. For me it's basically Curling/CFL, then NHL. I love hockey, don't get me wrong, but I'll always watch a Bombers game over any hockey game, and I'd watch any CFL game over a hockey game not featuring one of "my" teams...

It's a really tough situation because while everyone wants to look out for a potentially innocent girl, what about if it's Kane that's innocent and someone's taking advantage of him?? Why is there no outrage over this?

The Free Press can't directly hire someone for that columnist gig, it will be filled internally and an entry-level reporter gig might open up at the bottom. It's a union shop, all decisions are governed by seniority. It will likely be either Wiecek or Tait that gets the columnist gig, I suspect. Randy Turner hasn't been a full time FP writer in several years.
