I have a real big issue with the Riders having 96 extra guys being prepped every single day, in case of injury. Other teams have a few guys around town, I'm sure, but the Riders apparently have a humongous number of people that are being prepped so they can step in at a moments notice. That's not cool...

One team source said to me on Wednesday: “If this is true and they’re hiding players in Regina, someone needs to get fired tomorrow. It’s cheating. It’s having extra guys around and immersing them in your system and playbook and preparing to be ready if someone gets hurt. It’s unfair advantage over the rest of the league.” The first allegation against the Roughriders resulted in a $15,000 fine for breaking ratio regulations. Then, on Tuesday night, Calgary Stampeders quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell accused the Riders of hiding non-roster players in Regina and having ineligible players take part in practice and meetings. The whispers surrounding the Riders have gotten louder. When the league’s best player jumps on Twitter and fires off a salvo of accusatory tweets the commissioner needs to act. The league’s response on Wednesday to Mitchell’s tweet was short: “We’re aware of it, and we’re looking into it.” Jones gets paid to win football games. Some will buy into the old saw, “If you’re not cheating, you’re not trying.” I’m not here to say Jones is a cheater. I don’t know that to be true. What we all know is there have been very public allegations. It may turn out that there’s nothing to this and it won’t look bad on Jones and the Riders. But that’s tomorrow. The reality is these accusations look bad on the league. True or not, Orridge needs to quell them."

I think the difference between the Riders and us (and every other team) is the sheer volume of players they're keeping around. This is ridiculous...

Oh don't get me wrong...I'll watch it.....but I'm concerned about ruining the legacy of the first one with a shitty, unnecessary sequel.

As much as I loved the first one (seriously one of my all time favourite Christmas movies), I just don't know what more you can do with this. Never mind that you're trying to do it without Bernie Mac or John Ritter (who were fantastic in the first one...) but it's really a lot of the same jokes, just amped up to 11. I dunno...I love the first one, and I'm just not sure they needed to give it the sequel treatment.

I honestly feel like it all boils down to the 3 IMP OL. That makes the offence work, the offence working keeps the D fresh, and they play better...its all about the 3 IMP OL...

Hellebyuck is definitely very very good.......but I'm far more curious whether Hutchinson can have a bounce back year. He looked great 2 years ago, but fell off big time this past season. I'd still vote that nothing changes and it's Pav/Hutch to start the year...

Too many young kids that just want the 95 team redux. There's way more deserving players who wore a Jets jersey at one point than just the famous ones from later years. Contrary to popular belief, the Jets iced a lotta good teams over the years.

I actually really like that Jets alumni roster. I think a lot of you are so young you just don't know some on there, but man, that list is a throwback for me listening to Kielback on KY58 in our old blue station wagon. That'll be a fun game to watch. Can't tell you how glad I am the Habs (puke) aren't involved in this for once...

Maybe it's just a personal opinion, but I don't see any better use of that money (at this point...agreed on off season being different story) than on a vet back-up QB. Unless an elite OL came available, why not spend it on a QB that has shown he can play at a high level? Some think he's permanently done and should be axed, but count me in the group who says he's a better option than Davis at this point, in a back up role.

I would think this sorta thing would be written into his contract with incentives. Bonus money for return yds, TDs, etc, knowing he's a returner as well as DB....

LW was weak at Vic Beach... Water so warm, bite was slow. Made a trip out to Whitemud at Westbourne and did well. Cats, Bullhead and Drum. No Eyes for us on shore but the guys trolling bottom bouncers did well!
