  1. well, I'm sort of curious if Montreal takes this "Errrybody hate us" thing and rally behind it big time (who better than a Dave Ritchie disciple in Khari to do it...) but I still don't believe in Pipkin or anyone else they have behind C, and as we all know, if you don't have at least a competent QB, you don't get anywhere in this league...
  2. I've been a big Sayles fan for awhile and really excited to see him take the next step this year...
  3. I don't think Edmonton is very good, but I think they're better than Montreal.....for now.....
  4. some of the talking heads were tweeting this week that Neufeld was running around at practice this week and more or less looked fine (ie - nothing super serious like a ruptured achilles or MCL/ACL tear) so I fully expect him to be back in Week 3...
  5. the thing about playing Guard in the CFL is you basically have to be a really good bar-room brawler. Just be more of a man than the guy across the line from you. I fully believe Geoff Gray is a man-child who will beat the piss out of some people. I don't know enough about Speller to say. Couture at C *SHOULD* be fine....I'm hopeful that our D will win the day.
  6. would appear to be so...... KR/PR.......
  7. awful lotta "new" for the Bombers on that depth chart. I'm as bullish as anyone on our young OL, but jeepers, 3 of 'em across the interior....if I was a BC fan, I'd be enjoying that thought. Also, both Whitehead and Lawler starting as rookies.....
  8. I can't stop laughing at Booch's "Powell will be worn down to a useless nub" comment....
  9. if they're only nicked (sounds like it -- both were running around in practice this week) and if the first couple weeks of the season are glorified pre-season anyhow, then I'm more than okay with resting these guys based on the Week 2 bye. Whatever happens tomorrow is what it is, and Week 3 we start for realz...
  10. Completely ridiculous and misguided idea.... The top end NFL guys are better than the top end CFL guys, but after that, the depth is pretty comparable...
  11. ^^ This is massive news....the Savoie brothers and their buddy (who all were chosen/traded for by the Ice) have all played hockey together forever and were all committed to Denver together, but apparently at least one has changed their mind. I would THINK this means all 3 are going to sign now, but we'll see...
  12. at first, it was The Strevelation......but now we're almost into a Strevolution.
  13. the "joke" they liked to tell around my old office when I worked in Winkler: "If you're going fishing with a Mennonite, bring enough beer for the both of you. If you're going fishing with 2 Mennonites, only bring beer for yourself..." and it's the honest truth. A lotta hypocrisy goes on in southern MB...
  14. well, the one "pick" (I believe it was that James Johnson guy...) skipped off the turf, but was ruled an INT. Because it was pre-instant replay, there was no overturning things...
  15. All these jokes are at least relatively funny because I spent an AWFUL year and a half in Winkler with the most conservative people I have ever met...
  16. I would be shocked if they didn't start 8 NIs because that's what they do...
  17. I'm not so much a football fan as a fan of all things Canadiana....I'd watch an Als/Argos pre-season game before I'd watch the Super Bowl. Though I never went to school in Winnipeg (BU/ACC Brandon), I'd watch a televised Bisons game over NFL/NCAA without hesitation...
  18. Congrats -- sincerely wish he'd have been able to get his ring in 2007. Shame he never got the opportunity to play in that GC.
  19. their depth chart on the D side of the ball took massive hits all over. I'm not saying they won't still win games, but you absolutely can not look at their roster and say "they look every bit as good as previous years"....no, they absolutely do not LOOK as good....
  20. Als and Argos all day, and I'm not even blinking on it....
  21. Do Riders fans think because Ambrosie is from Wpg that he's a Bombers fan or something?
  22. I'm not gonna say he was GREAT but he was more than capable when he played for JSK last year at the end of the season and did not look out of place at all. I think he's going to shine next to Bighill. He'll be in on a crazy amount of tackles...
