  1. Eh I'm not saying that's why the Als lost, just saying that I hate the refs not calling penalties because they don't want to decide the game when in reality not calling penalties is also game deciding. It's not just a problem in the CFL either, happens in all sports.
  2. No one is shocked, just disappointed. You can clearly see that the ref saw it, but he didn't want to throw a flag on a game changing play which is a shame. If it's a penalty call it regardless of when it happens.
  3. more likely Whyte's errant aim decided it than 1 call... whatever. i just hope the Argos smash the Cats for making me watch such a craptacular ESF (and because F the lolCats... but that should go without saying...) here's hoping a week Monday the front page of the sports section bears the headline "Argos lick the *******". EDIT: that shouldn't be censored! i meant the word as a synonym for "cats"... Ray vs. Burris in the playoffs should be a no brainer. One guy can actually perform in the playoffs the other can't. Damned lucky the red "didn't want to decide the game" and kept the flag in his pocket for the ticats. Of course I don't think the Argos are above choking either so who knows...
  4. In the playoffs in poor weather? The hell you say. Guy is such a summer time qb.
  5. Based on the suns you be the boss results I think the ignorant masses could be sold on Burke. Miller already seems to be setting us all up for it by keeping on with the "Joe Mack was worse than Reinbold and Kelly combined" story. I am absolutely terrified that they're going to take the easy way out and keep Walters at GM and Burke at HC and throw all the blame at Joe Macks feet and we'll wind up with another absolutely terrible season and the stadium will be the usual 20000 diehards who always show up but not much more.
  6. If they retain Burke the team will still suck. They will still not be prepared on game day and will still get their asses handed to them week in and week out. Burke is not a good head coach plain and simple and regardless of any talent issues the team may have they will never live up to the potential that they may have with Burke as head coach.
  7. Owens last year was bullshit, shoulda been Ray as the argos nominee then too cause without Ray Owens is not nearly as impressive a player. Ray makes everyone on offence better... but Owens was doing 3K yards before Ray. and his 3 X 3K in a row was/is unprecedented in pro football. I hate giving kick returners awards though. Yeah he had lots of combined yards but kick returning is just cheating really. Didn't like WIlliams and Owens being top contenders just because of the combined yards when so many yards came on kick returns.
  8. ....which means we are either strongly considering retaining Burke or an an organization we don't know our arse from our elbow. Both options cause me great concern.
  9. Owens last year was bullshit, shoulda been Ray as the argos nominee then too cause without Ray Owens is not nearly as impressive a player.
  10. Would that completion percentage and TD:INT ratio be as good if he had played more games though? Considering that he sustained it before and after injury yeah I think he would have.
  11. only 2 ints is the real impressive thing, combine that with setting a record for completion % and it's a no brainer to me. Yeah Cornish has a lot of yards but so what, he's not the only guy to get up to that kind of numbers but when was the last time you saw a td:int ratio and completion % like that? The fact that he missed games is the only thing making this close but to me no one was more outstanding than Ray.
  12. cause the numbers he put up were stupidly good. 77% completions, 21 tds and only 2 ints... that's just unreal good.
  13. To me there's no way you don't give MOP to Ray. Yeah he missed games but he was just that kinda good when he played that he was the most outstanding player this year. The numbers he put up were just ridiculous.
  14. some of you have a very low standard for elite or top tier then.
  15. The coaches sent a message alright, the message was "we have no idea what we're doing here" If Goltz pissed them off that much he absolutely should have been released, otherwise you use him in situations where he is the better option. It's just one of many reasons why burke has no business being a head coach. Talks a good game but does nothing to back that up.
  16. The fact that he's always an automatic allstar selection and always shows up in the MOL category for the bombers and the way the commentary always hypes him up the reputation suggests he's a top teir o-lineman. I don't think he is, I think he's a good journeyman player but hardly elite.
  17. Well considering Edmonton fired their coach immediately after the season ended I don't buy any excuses from the Bombers.
  18. You shouldn't need 3-5 weeks to decide to fire Tim Burke, there's a year and a half of evidence showing that he needs to be gone RFN.
  19. He didn't do much beaking off, he mostly just told the truth, and the fact that the coach holds a grudge because of that is just more evidence that the coach has no place being a head coach.
  20. The concerning thing about that interview is how Miller says they have lots of time... I'm not sure he does. There's 2 other teams looking for coaches and at least one other team looking for a qb (maybe another depending on what Hamilton is doing with Burris) Taking this long to decide makes it harder to get ahead in those regards especially when those other teams already have a GM in place. Little more urgency is needed from Miller here I think.
  21. don't worry too much about Jones, there were a lot of questions about whether he actually wanted to play football anyway. Plus I'd think the team was justifiably gunshy about taking an offensive lineman from Weyburn.
  22. I understand that they want to protect players, but honestly like in hockey the best way to protect the kids is to teach them to be aware of everything. If you know a hit might be coming you can prepare yourself for it.
  23. Some of the things he's said and done as a head coach have been dumb so it's a fair comment to me.
  24. or maybe Miller just wanted Walby to come to practises and slap some of the wussiness out of the current o-line.
  25. It's not about what their background is, it's about whether they'd be a good head coaching candidate or not. I'm not saying don't hire an offensive guy, I'm saying don't hire an offensive guy just because he's an offensive guy, hire someone because they're the best option.
