  1. I think it got legs when people were trying to justify trading him last year. Now they've told themselves the lie so often they believe it.
  2. Cause Chevon Walker isn't all that good of a running back. The reason Hamilton moved on from him is that he is yet another all or nothing running back. He'll either make a huge play or be stopped for short gains.
  3. What did Durant do last time we played the riders that makes anyone worried about facing him? He was terrible. Bombers offense scored more points for the Riders than their own offense did.
  4. Do Rider fans still think Durant is a better qb than Ricky Ray?
  5. I've noticed that too. Maybe it's due to the incompetence of their commentators. I think it's americanization of all their broadcasts. American sports are all about hype hype and more hype and I think TSN is jumping on that bandwagon. I hate it. The sport is good enough to stand on it's own without the artificial hype.
  6. But it's also not going to last. Hamilton will get to play Montreal and Ottawa in the last part of the season, you think all those teams are going to stick at 1 win after that? Why would I think that? It's pretty obvious that can't happen (unless there are a statistically improbable amount of ties). Regardless of the amount of wins that are given out based on interdivisional play in the East, we are still likely looking at a double crossover scenario from the West. There is absolutely no evidence to suggest the East (outside of Toronto) can win against the West, and the other teams in the East likely won't be beating Toronto either. I may have mis-counted but there are only 7 guaranteed wins left between Hamilton, Montreal, and Ottawa. I don't want to start making charts about what the odds are for teams ending with a certain record, but it is definitely possible that the last place team in the West has a better record than the 2nd place team in the East. oh sure it's possible, but come on, the west teams are going to start beating up on each other pretty soon as well. Calgary and Edmonton have a back to back coming, that's either 2 losses for one of them or one loss a piece, Bombers and Sask same deal. Either one team is picking up 2 more losses or it's one a piece and some team is that much closer to a .500 record. It's a screwy schedule with basically everything to be decided still.
  7. TSN in general has this real bad habit of deciding the script for the game in advance and sticking to it come hell or high water. I have no idea why they feel they need to do that rather than letting the game unfold as it will and letting the on air "talent" talk about the game rather than their prepared game story.
  8. Ford is too similar to Grigsby for my liking. He's an all or nothing type back. Dunno that the run game would be any better with him around.
  9. I am curious why there was no flag on the play Glenn got hurt on. He was clearly sliding and two guys went and landed on him, Do they only protect the "star" qbs or what? Ultimately I think BC screwed themselves in the game when they took a roughing penalty on 2nd down and followed it up with a shanked punt out of bounds. Would have been punting from mid field and probably pinning the riders deep, instead the penalties pushed the Riders up to near midfield and totally flipped the field around.

  11. All Suitor knows how to do when broadcasting is suck off one player all game long. It's annoying.
  12. so good that Anthony Allen is taking reps away from him?
  13. they should stop tweaking rules every offseason. Leave it be and let the refs actually figure out what's going on rather than trying to learn new ways to call things every bloody year.
  14. But it`s a hell of a trick! Look at the havoc O`Dell Willis is causing for opposing offenses in Edmonton and he`s even more one dimensional than Hall. This team lives and dies by the pressure it puts on qbs, Hall would be one of the best in the league at putting pressure on QBs.
  15. This is one time where I hope Etch gets in the way of a player coming here. I too hate having players among the best at their position in the team. Bring back Tim Burke so we can suck again.
  16. well I am saying this with all due respect, but you're out of your mind. This team NEEDS help on the d-line. Last couple games we have absolutely sucked getting pressure on qbs from the DL. Getting a top teir pass rusher would do all kinds of good for this team. The penalties aren't worth it. Hall is overrated. The penalty problems are what is overrated, Hall would be a huge upgrade no questions asked.
  17. BUt Desjardins is an idiot. He'll be back to being an assistant GM before too long.
  18. I am sorry but this is a stupid ******* statement to make. Just because there are other issues doesn't mean we can't take steps to fix one of the problems... that being Grigsby. He's not good enough as he is now regardless of what we have at OL. If he wants to start running harder then by all means he can stay, but he's gotta show that for more than just the 4th quarter. Give Cotton a chance see if it improves (and no 4 carries in the 3rd quarter against montreal don't count as a chance). It might help even with those other problem areas. You can work on more than one area at a time you know. It's easier to replace one player than 5.
  19. well I am saying this with all due respect, but you're out of your mind. This team NEEDS help on the d-line. Last couple games we have absolutely sucked getting pressure on qbs from the DL. Getting a top teir pass rusher would do all kinds of good for this team.
  20. I think there's less difference than you think there is. Both the Esks and Stamps have escaped by the skin of their teeth a few times. Obviously they're at the top right now, but that could change by the end of the season.
  21. Thumbed their noses at us? Or maybe they just said "sorry, Winnipeg, we appreciate your offer but we've opted to choose a different one. Thank you" Then what? Pretty obvious to me that coaches & players didn't want to come here. It was more than a polite, "Thank you but we've opted for something elsewhere". More like,"Yeah, right". It's true, we're stuck with the coordinators we are because no one else wanted to come here and that's due to the constant firing of coaches that goes on around here. Thankfully O'Shea seems to be putting some stability in place here so that should help in the future.
  22. Speaking of reality...we have two separate camps as usual. 1. It's Grigsby 2. It's the OL Both need to improve...going forward... That's not entirely true. I'm not absolving the OL, sometimes they just don't do enough, my reasons for not liking Grigsby are pretty straightforward and not based on his numbers or lack there of... it's because he runs east/west too much, he stops before he hits the line too much, he doesn't run with any kind of power or authority, he sucks at breaking tackles, he's good at running into people and I don't think he is very good at making people miss. He is just frustrating to watch.
  23. I just can't figure this out. Here we have a guy that is leading the league and a 4.7 yd average but many are still not satisfied. I must be missing something obviously. Of course our Oline has nothing to do with this. Why is it that Willy is also ineffective at the same time? Might it be the line is not protecting Willy just like it is not opening holes. so you like a runningback who plays like he's afraid of getting hit?
  24. The biggest change in the Esks I can see is Jones & coaching staff ... not sure what all has changed personnel wise ... its been quite a turn around and I don't understand why As we discovered with the Bombers a lot of the pieces were already in place, sometimes it's just a matter of a few key players and coaches to turn a team of losers into winners. Only 2 things really matter in the CFL, coaching and quarterbacking.
  25. Iso is most likely referring specifically to Collaros who once signed in Hamilton I believe made some comments about how Tim Hortons field will be better than IGF or something, plus he was raving about the situation he was going to as well. So this post from him makes sense when you remember all the things that were said and posters reactions to them in the offseason.
