well that might be how it works in fantasy land but the real world is a lot harsher. Other teams know that Winnipeg is at a disadvantage in this situation and no one wants to tinker that much with what they've already built at this point in the year they will be reluctant to give up already developed players. Teams get attached to their developed players.

It doesn't take Edmonton's side into account though... Chia talked about trading Hall for Larsson, he said he identified Larsson as his target for several reasons including the fact that he played tough matchups on the top pairing and came out looking great defensively and Chia believed he had more offense to give and maybe more importantly he was signed to a low contract. Those are two things Trouba can't say, he's looking for big money and hasn't had that top pairing level Larsson had. Even when trying to get Larsson out of New Jersey he didn't come in offering Hall, Hall was the piece he had to give to make the deal happen and he only did it because he felt so strongly about the player. Trouba having no contract doesn't help the case for trading him for a massive return. Someone has to like him that much and believe they can sign him to a number that works. We saw how the Isles made out on the trade front by demanding a player of similar value for Hamonic, and at least in Hamonics case they had reason to be patient, he was under contract and wasn't going to sit out on them. When people demand trades you never get as much as you want because ideally you want to keep said player and the value to you is way higher than it is to anyone else.

Amazing how simple the game is sometimes eh. Hell they were talking about that on TSN, Claybrooks says he just believes that his 12 guys are better than the 12 on the other side so just go beat them. Dave Ritchie was the same kind of guy, just beat the man across from you. Sometimes I think coaches over complicate things and sometimes you just have to line up and do and win some matchups.
-
I think getting hung up on Trouba having to go for a similar young player is just asking for no trade to be made. Better off moving him for help at another position and some prospects because there are honestly options on the left side at defense that could come in as stop gap measures until some prospects develop. Hell Kris Russell is still unsigned and while he's not as good as he once was the guy can still play. That's just the first example out there too.

The difference with Edmonton is that their defense is not nearly as good as Calgary has so you should be able to play in a shoot out with them if you need to.

Oh **** most football players can throw a beauty pass, what makes a guy able to succeed as a passer is the decision making with the ball.

Trouba wants out (Trouba has signed)

you missed how Nurse played more minutes than any rookie last year? (or he was for a time not sure how it all finished) It's not about Nurse not being able to make the Oilers, it's about the Oilers not wanting Nurse to make the lineup. Let's be honest here too, the only time Nurse had trouble was when everyone got hurt and he had to play top pairing minutes. That was rough on him but before that and after guys got healthy and his minutes dropped he was looking ******* great. I don't want to trade Nurse for Trouba at all because I don't want players with the attitude that Trouba has. Too good for Winnipeg he'd be too good for Edmonton too. -

so basically they are looking for a team to make a lateral trade... except the person the other team would be giving up wouldn't be a problem child with the trade request and quite likely has a better contract than Trouba is looking to get... seems like Trouba will either sit or the Jets will have to change what they expect to get in return. -

Klefbom alone is probably better than Trouba he just missed too much time being injured. So under rated. Rnh too. Don't want Trouba unless it's cheap anyway. Too much of an American -

Edmonton already got bent over a barrel and shown the 50 states to get a defenseman, they don't need to do it again. Best we can do is Yakupov and Reinhart. Maybe Brandon Davidson if you want a current top 4 guy. -

Hall was the price for a top pairing young D on a great contract a desperate team had to pay. Return for a disgruntled player with no contract asking for a trade and to be paid big money will be much much less -
Miller starting contract extension talks with Walters O'Shea

but they would have tightened up when the Bombers got within striking distance too. Football is a game of momentum and fighting to get it back is the key to winning. -
so instead of a versatile star rb we just make him a 10 yard possession receiver? Seems like a complete and total waste of talent.

I would have been worried if they'd rolled over and died yesterday but fighting back as they did I have no doubts they'll come back stronger. -
I can assure you I haven't lived in that area in years... seriously though very sad news.

no Harris is a good ******* running back that does so many things for the offense in the backfield. Just because stupid sexy flanders is a good injury replacement doesn't mean we cater to him over our star runningback.

Hamilton has some real problems. Their D used to be an absolute terror a year or two ago now they look like a bunch of ***** cats. What happened? They get figured out?
-
That's what makes the last second loss difficult, they were so close to shoving it back in his face and they let it slip away. Best way to get people to stop being cocky pricks is make them eat their words.
-
The D was ineffective getting pressure on Mitchell and when they did bring people the coverage was too loose and he had easy completions. Saw it in the first game in Calgary too, too much space in the middle of the field allowing easy first downs. The only time the D was effective was when they got good and pissed off and started laying the wood on the guys catching the ball. Letting the Stamps easily move into field goal range with 27 seconds left is just unacceptable. Shame on the Lapo offense as well taking until half time to adjust to things that would actually work. Flanders and the run game is good but of course they waited until being down by 24 to use it.

Yeah I bet it does, you sure you don't want to add McDavid in there just to sweeten the pot a little bit? Maybe add Draisaitl too just to make sure it goes through? -
yeah since the last ice age is a bit cherry picking too. That's really not a long time geologically speaking.

but they have been getting reviews wrong every year since they started... it's a lot easier for me to accept human error when there is no review so for that reason just get rid of it and we'll all live with the breaks evening out over the course of a season. Plus then we wouldn't get refs afraid to throw a flag or being overzealous throwing flags because they know that the replay official will do their job for them.
