  1. I figure it's going to come down to Willy and the performance he puts out. If he hasn't progressed beyond last year you can mark it up as 0-1. I thought Willy played well in last years LDC. Bombers lost all 3 games to the R.R. so he didn't play well enough to beat them. Labour Day Willy played pretty well, trouble was that the D left the game early and gave up a ton late to piss it away. Game one vs. the riders absolutely Willy wasn't good enough. The turnovers killed them. I don't really remember what happened in the Banjo Bowl so I won't comment on that.
  2. Absolutely agree, the mobile version of this site is fantastic.
  3. It would be a good site if the numbers were out there, but until the CFL actually puts the numbers out there it's just pie in the sky dreaming.
  4. You all need to remember that Neufeld was a guy Walters went out and got himself. He made a terrible trade to get the guy, GMs don't just cut guys they like that much even if it is the logical thing to do.
  5. But the thing that made capgeek so good for NHL matters is that they had all the contract details of everyone. If it was just a case of "well we heard Crosby was in the neighbourhood of 8 million and Toews and Kane were around 10 million" it's not so effective right?
  6. I probably would agree with you.. With Kelly and Reinbold it at least looked like they gave a **** about winning and didnt have the droopy dog face five minutes into a game. and at least they could get players to play for them. No one put in any effort for the bus driver Burke.
  7. Infuriating to listen to. Making me angry all over again.
  8. well until the CFL starts to make salaries public this seems like a waste of the guys time. Be a lot of hearsay and speculation.
  9. Well I could totally see someone telling us we are awful, awful men...
  10. I still say Tim Burke was the worst head coach this team has ever had.
  11. I was noticing the same thing. Every time anyone talks about Reaves its the same "Looks great out there, maybe in 2023 he'll be good enough to play". ??? I think the hesitation would be that most of the fans here know they don't know enough to know how good a pro Reaves is. Easy to spot a guy who can run fast and jump high and catch the ball and be an athlete, harder to tell if he's a pro and doing what the coaches want and doing it well enough to contribute in a game. In a one on one drill a pure athlete can stand out easy, if he doesn't have all the nuances you need in a game setting doesn't really matter if you're the best athlete out there.
  12. but please keep in mind that they may be filled with liberal use of curse words and should not be viewed by impressionable children.
  13. Don't worry, I'll tell you what's what after I get a chance to check it out on the weekend.
  14. Football coaches in general seem to be living in a culture of super secrecy and paranoia about revealing something. CFL and NFL. It's carried to extremes. "on to Cincinatti" Paul Maurice is good with media. No vague non answers. A press conference after every game, he still tries to answer questions forthrightly, and without insulting the fans with generalities. I wish O'Shea could be more like Maurice. But Maurice has been through the media cauldron, and must have learned a lot from it. Hockey and football are different beasts. With so much time in football to prepare for specific opponents it stands to reason you want less information out there for your opponents. In hockey you often play back to back nights or with one day in between and the preparation for your next opponent is not as in depth. I like how O'Shea operates in the media truthfully. You can tell he's the kind of guy that the players will trust because he doesn't throw them to the wolves.
  15. How come all they are tweeting about is injuries? How about even a "so and so made a good catch" or "This qb was throwing some nice balls" **** sakes guys injury updates are nice but how about some comment on the players performing? Doesn't have to be much or even very in depth but just say something that proves you're actually watching.
  16. It's complete and utter bullshit that they want an account.
  17. I missed that reference. What happened to Stamps? Years back, Hefney hit him in a "personal area" and he had to have an operation to remove "something". http://news.nationalpost.com/sports/cfl/the-sad-story-of-eskimos-slotback-fred-stamps-lost-******** Ouch. If I recall he stayed in the game for a least a while too! The man earned some serious respect
  18. I will be signing autographs, limit one per person, no personalized greetings. $10 per.
  19. I will admit though that I do get a smug sense of satisfaction seeing the admins smack someone with the ban hammer.
  20. even I can restraint myself and I love to feed trolls when I get bored.
  21. Collaros is passing well enough that they don't just have to take away the run. Arm strength is about the last thing I care about when looking at attributes a qb should have. It's a nice bonus but it's not really all that critical. If the guy can read a defence and put the ball where it needs to be then arm strength by and large doesn't matter a lot. Doug Flutie is maybe the best example. There's a guy who could beat you with his legs, but the key for him is that he could also beat you with his arm despite it being not overly strong. It's all about not being one dimensional.
  22. He might have more potential than Willy, but he might not. Willy isn't chopped liver either. Guy is a pretty decent passer, just needs more blocking because he doesn't have as much ability to scramble. But at least we know that when you give him time he can pass the ball.
  23. I have been saying all offseason they needed to come up big in the receiver department this offseason because last year the receivers were not good enough. Having to use Kelly and Romby Bryant was a handicap on the O. Let's hope these new faces work out.
  24. Yeah and everyone agreed that he did well in his time last year, but others have been watching the CFL long enough to know that a qb using his legs to buy time and improvise as a rookie doesn't always mean he's ready for prime time when teams go in gaming to shut that scrambling down. Everyone would love the guy to progress to the point where he is a legit starter cause the athleticism is impressive and he's got a big arm. Just need to see him learn to be a poised pocket qb now too.
