  1. The fans are going to be going Oskee Wah Wah after the Bombers win amiright?
  2. You really get the sense with STID that the writers made a list of big "scenes" they wanted and then tried to put some sort of connecting story between them. Im sure the idea of the Enterprise rising out of the ocean was great (it looked fantastic) but made little sense. But their standard response was "this is a new universe". Except they wanted to jerk off fans with canonical references every three minutes to show their Trek cred. Just brutal. Khan goes from a dark skinned latino playing an Indian to a pasty brit. Makes sense. Im SUPER looking forward to Terminator! This is how most big action movies are written these days and it's making them suck because of it. just tying together big action sequences with little regard to proper character development or story telling. Orci and his sidekick who's name escapes me now are the biggest perpetrators of this and everything they touch stinks.
  3. Just a wild stab in the dark here... but because he's healthy?
  4. Worse part - I know we all dump on Rogers for their Hockey coverage but what if TSN got it and put the buffoons they have like Rod Black on hockey duty (they'd have too to many games). Yikes I still hate the '3' key guys they show at the beginning of the game. I want to see the starting lineups for each side, offense and defense. They can have three guys hilighted but c'mon man, really. Total bush league This x1000000. Probably my biggest complaint about TSN's coverage. Bigtime leagues show the starting lineups every game (NFL, NHL, MLB, Soccer). Comes off like TSN figures most viewers are casual and and could care less about the players outside of the "name" guys. Very bush league. And yes no more ingame interviews. That's what halftime or between the quarters is for. This is part of the big problem with TSN. They decide on a story line before the game starts and gotta stick to the script on that. It's bullshit because the game unfolding before us should be the only story line they need. Treating the audience like imbeciles and I hate it.
  5. Or much preferable to me, disregard power rankings, get wins.
  6. He had 6 goals and 7 assists in 78 games, something ain't right with that guy at this time.
  7. I would think the better person wouldn't need to make any statement at all in an effort to prove that they are a better person, but whatever. But again, back to my original question in this segue: why does the trash talk get to people? It's only annoying if you let it be annoying, otherwise it's just empty noise. And all fan bases have segments who do it, so what makes the 'Rider priders intolerable where other fan bases are not. I don't need a recap of their behaviour, just trying to piece together why it seems so effective in pushing emotional buttons here. Why does the fact that rider fans bother, pretty well every other cfl fan, bother YOU so much. You keep saying to brush it off and let it be etc etc..but you're the one who keeps bringing it up. Listen, people don't like them. You don't need to understand why. Let it go man. Some people just feel the need to try and prove their moral superiority like this.
  8. You watch those highlights again and man I like Cam Marshall at rb. Just no ******* around, strong guy and he knows it, put the shoulders down and get forward. Cotton is a dandy too. Really like the 1-2 punch at rb.
  9. I post on sites such as this one to talk about the Bombers and football with other fans of the team and sport. There's not trying to prove anything, just people with a similar interest to talk about said interest with. I don't make the comment about not needing to throw my fandom in anyones faces to prove I'm a better kind of fan, I do it to prove I'm a better kind of person. Huge difference. They can wear their jersies, hats, t-shirts whatever that's fine, but the constant trash talk like the Riders are gods gift to football, it's too much.
  10. So, inferiority complex basically? No not in the least, it's an extremely low tolerance for annoying people. I know what kind of fan I am and I don't need to throw it in anyones faces. The complex belongs to the people who feel the need to walk around thumping their chests over rider pride! or Canada's team!
  11. Because it's annoying as all hell. There are a ton of gappers living in Calgary and Alberta in general so you run into a ton of them and they are just obnoxious about their fandom, even if they are the people who jumped on the bandwagon. I have nothing but respect for the Rider fans who were actually die hard fans through the crappy years, it's the new fans that piss me off cause they only came to the team recently and have no appreciation for how quickly fortunes can change in the CFL.
  12. Agreed. I'm willing to give Veltung more time at receiver before passing judgement but he seems to be more suited to a DI role at PR/KR. This will make two years of swings and misses at receiver recruitment. That's not good. Jhomo Gordon says hello - he's an incredibly impressive prospect for his age. So was Terrence Jeffers Harris. I'm not saying it's a definitive miss for this year, just saying it could be. I like Gordon's upside, but he is no shoe-in for recruitment success yet. TJH was done in by his own shitty attitude. If he wasn't a whiny ***** he coulda been a real good receiver in the CFL.
  13. My biggest concern about the D was the complete and utter lack of pressure on the qb most plays. Tough to win when you can't make life hard on the qb.
  14. This should be example #1 of how much harder it is to be a qb teams have film on vs. coming in as an unknown.
  15. Was he really worse though? Yeah he had some trouble but the Montreal O did move a little bit with him in there.
  16. both teams were absolutely terrible. Ottawa won but what an empty win when your qb plays THAT badly. I'd suspect that had Crompton not got hurt the Als hang on to win because Bridge threw nothing but ducks and had some big catches to bail him out. That guy is not ready to be a CFL qb.
  17. Chamblin we are learning these past couple years has no idea what to do with the RB position.
  18. I always find it so disconcerting when you post with such a positive attitude. Why I'm positive far more often than I'm negative. If you have different perception might I suggest being wrong less often so I don't have to correct as much?
  19. Stoked to crack a beer and watch some football tonight. Doesn't matter who plays or if it's a good game or not, football is back baby!
  20. Kevin Smith is a lousy director and even he will admit to that, but he's a solid writer with regards to dialogue. That's what made his good movies good was the dialogue. I personally enjoy his movies but I can understand why people would not appreciate them. Lots of people want more from movies than a back and forth between characters.
  21. Is the Shark Club in Winnipeg as ****** baggy as in Calgary? I've never been to the one in CGY, but I will go with YES I've also never been to the one in Calgary, but YES. Having been dragged to both clubs here and in Calgary, I can say although the d-bag quotient is significant here, it does not match Calgary levels even on it's worst day. But not surprising, since I find that things associated with Alberta pretty much automatically are always higher on the d-bag scale. This is what happens when you give rig pigs money.
  22. The Bombers still lack the real top end Nis but the depth is there for sure.
  23. Tomorrow evening might be difficult.
