  1. yeah that's an idea. We've drafted too many receivers in the past few years that aren't on our roster. Mr. Mack - head out East with some coins in your pocket and some shampoo coupons and bring Johnny Hairband to Winnipeg!
  2. as I said I blamed Lapo for some of it, but it wasn't just that last drive. We had plenty of opportunities to put that game away and Elliott and the offence blew it.
  3. unfortunately, or fortunately for Buck who I assume gets a bonus for every game he wins, even lucky wins still count.
  4. Ok so anyone have any ideas on possible NI receivers out there that we could bring in? There has to be something better than Taylor Renaud available right? I assume because we are all geniuses that Burke and Crowton just log on this site and do whatever we think is right. Other than cutting Elliott of course....
  5. did anyone see any receiver in that list I posted that we might be interested in? That's assuming of course that the team lets the player go. My understanding is that if you try and grab a P/R player you have to start that player the next week. Also, if the team you are trying to grab him from protects him, they have to start him that week too.
  6. woah woah woah....there's only one guy who gets to type that name in these parts...
  7. Buck sucks. Elliott sucks. Darrell Hackney was our best QB prospect to come through in years. Other than the fact he was 300 lbs and could barely move, not sure why he wasn't kept by Kelly.
  8. P/R NI receivers I see on other teams we could try and grab after the game on Friday: Sask: 71 Thompson, Mitch WR Non-Import 5.09 185 1992-12-01 Regina Thunder 83 Anthony, Alex WR Non-Import 6.02 205 1991-04-09 Wilfrid Laurier Calgary: 83 Morin-Plante, Yannick WR Non-Import 6.00 195 1989-09-25 Laval Hamilton: 75 Diston, Jay WR Non-Import 6.03 185 1990-05-10 Burlington Braves Toronto: 84 Millington, Ezra WR Non-Import 6.00 195 1988-05-30 Ottawa Montreal: 88 Pierre, Youssy WR Non-Import 6.00 185 1985-08-08 Montreal Then there were all the NI cuts/free agents out there looking for work, like I had mentioned Brescacin before. Not sure how many would be interested knowing that they'd be gone again in a few weeks when Watson and Poblah came back.
  9. at this point I'd be trying them at receiver
  10. yeah that was my original point too. Why are we still talking about Elliott? Why don't we keep pining over Mike Quinn and Stephan Lefors too while we are at it.
  11. Not sure. Aaron Hargreaves? We could use a guy to run ten yards and just stand there on every play.
  12. so who do we bring in for NI depth? Brescacin? Brock Ralph?
  13. We should have won that home game against BC last year, that we lost on the last play of the game to a FG. I know Lapo takes part of the blame for his conservative vanilla play-calling, but Elliott should have delivered that game. He had multiple chances to put it in the endzone and didn't.
  14. I really would like to see Lulay and Demarco go down just so Elliott has to come into a game for the Lions. I would bet Buono would be crapping his pants.
  15. I was happy that Elliott won the POTW award twice. What I didn't like was that the weeks when he didn't win it he deserved the SPOTW award.
  16. or get tackled in a post-season game...oh wait...Edmonton won't be in one this year so it's all good...
  17. yeah until he gets seriously injured like Nichols and his career is over.
  18. Elliott is gone. Can we finally let this go? I'm glad he's gone. Sorry to say it, but after that Hamilton game last year I was a big fan, and he just let me down after that.
  19. The database strikes again....
  20. no point bashing Reilly just because the guy didn't want to play here. I don't understand it myself. He's got some tools to be a good QB in this league, but why he'd want to go to the QB graveyard that is Edmonton with that decrepit o-line right now I have no idea. There will be "consequences".
  21. This is reminding me of the game I went to in 2010 - Buck was struggling after a knee injury limited his speed, but Lapo started him anyway because we had nothing better in the bullpen. Our receiving situation was way worse then it is now, even with Edwards, Matthews and Watson out - our best NI receiver was BROCK RALPH and other than Edwards, we had Mr. I CAN'T CATCH Adarius Bowman and some guy named Jaymael Smith. And THEN, our kicker got hurt in warm-ups, so now Renaud has to kick the extra points, and we have some unknown linebacker doing the kick-offs. We had no one to kick FG's. It was a joke. This is a little better, but not much. I was hoping this year we'd avoid the injury bug a bit more than last year, but here we go again.
  22. yeah I think Denmark's time is up here. I liked his hands but he's just not getting open enough. Time to try some twin towers out there - Pierce and Matthews. Let's see how that goes.
  23. good strategy. Their defence isn't nearly as craptacular as Hamilton's though.
