Training camp report June 12
Ken Wiebe @WiebeSunSports Jarvis Jones takes a swing at Kashawn Fraser as tempers flare up at #Bombers practice this am. Players separated quickly, no shots landed

Bombers release 4 more...
2012 was a pretty weak draft year. That being said Matt Norman, Shamawd Chambers or Kirby Fabien would have been preferable to Pencer. Of course, hindsight is always 20-20.

QB - Could Hall get cut?
I just want a QB that can make plays with his feet. I'm tired of having statues out there that just drop back, hold the ball a second too long, and get murdered. Buck in 2010 when he was healthy was a treat to watch, especially when he'd take off and get us 20 - 30 yards on a run. I could watch that 2010 opening game win over Hamilton over and over again.

Robert Marve's history
I was kind of cheesed that the defence couldn't get the ball back with over 2 minutes left so that Marve could have another shot.

Nick Moore Injures Back
Next it will be "we should trade Moore and January for Ricky Ray".

Our ''NFL Guys''
After seeing Urrutia out there, if he can stay healthy, then he's more than an adequate replacement for Matthews. Matthews last year just couldn't stay healthy. I'd take him back, but not at any big salary, that's for sure.

And that's the last time you'll listen to Paul Friesen...

Who gets cut first
That's what they said about Messier at the end of his career too.

Robert Marve's history
That fourth string kid that the Argos had - Pachal- he sounded like he had quite the past too. CFL - the second chance league.

Alouettes Fire OC Rick Worman
The deal fell apart because they couldn't get a bar approved for the coach's lounge.

GDT: Argos @ Bombers
I will admit that I am biased as too many plays last night reminded me of Hall in 2013 and almost all memories of last year are bad ones. It's too bad that Marve only got one series.

Alouettes Fire OC Rick Worman
Oh now you tell me.

GDT: Argos @ Bombers
Yup I get that. He'd be at the top of my list for DC as well. And that's where he'd stay.

GDT: Argos @ Bombers
agreed. I just liked Marve's game. What an arm.

another comment I had was when the camera focused on Tim Burke in the press box at the controls of the Argo Defence. He had that same blank stare on his face that he used to have on the sidelines with us. I just felt so happy seeing him there that he wasn't our head coach anymore. Then I saw the White Zombie on the sidelines for Toronto too. Is Toronto collecting all of our bad ex-coaches? Where is Reinebold this year? Toronto could use him too. Add in Mike Kelly and they'll have the power quartet of futility.

Who gets cut first
I think a few vet DB's may be on the bubble. Suber, Dunn, and Banks looked pretty craptastic out there.

QB - Could Hall get cut?
I think we can all agree on this one.
-
GDT: Argos @ Bombers
Yeah good point. I noticed that too. I just chalked his pocket comfort up to "experience", something we aren't used to in our QB's.

CJ Tarver. I was just mad to see someone wearing Joe Pop's number. I thought it had been retired. At least give it to someone worthy next time.

Who gets cut first
Anyone else like how the consistently inconsistent PI calls can now be challenged? I sure do.

Alouettes Fire OC Rick Worman
I use booze to enhance my social skills.

Who gets cut first
Given the number of injuries, it makes me happy that we have extra time for recovery before the season starts.

QB - Could Hall get cut?
Watching Hall miss receivers and get pummeled in the pocket last night gave me nightmares of 2013. He doesn't appear to have gotten any better year over year. I'd give him a quarter in Calgary but I'm not expecting much, except more of the same.

I hope he gets at least a half. He needs time behind center and time with his receivers as the timing was off on a lot of throws last night. A few times you could see Willy was thinking one thing and the receivers another on a few throws. Denmark made Willy look good on that deep ball too, that was underthrown. Man I like Denmark, I sure hope they utilize him more this year. Willy needs to get more accurate. There were a lot of underthrown and overthrown balls by Willy last night, including that one that almost killed Nick Moore. The key with RR is that he almost always puts the ball in perfectly. Calvillo in his prime was also an expert at doing that. If you have the accuracy then all you need is a split second and that ball is gone, and in a place the receiver can make a play on it, without getting his head taken off. I see a lot of potential in Willy and Marve, because they make plays happen with their feet. I am feeling more positive right now about our QB'ing then I have in a long time. I am still getting my head wrapped around having a QB starting with CFL experience who may have the potential to last more than two weeks behind center. It's been a long time since we've seen that!
