  1. Maripier Morin is going to be crying today. It was always one of her worst fears that Prust, her fiancé, would get traded out of Montreal. Yes, I watched Hockey Wives. And I loved it!
  2. Not sure what that means. You would prefer they were "entrenched" in a communist system? It doesn't matter what system you are entrenched in if your people don't want to pay income taxes, and the government can't be bothered to collect them, or enforce income tax laws. It also doesn't matter what system you are in when your people decide they want everything for nothing, and think they are entitled to it. You are pretty much screwed at that point. Have a look at the Roman Empire at its peak. Why did it fail? Because everyone stopped working for a living, and just had a big party, and they became so soft that they were easy prey for other warring nations that just tore the entire empire apart. If you want some insight into the Greek mind, just look at how other countries have planned for and built infrastructure for the Olympics. They always build with a future plan to use the infrastructure, or move it somewhere else. They have a plan. Greece didn't have a plan for their 2004 Olypmics. They just built these massive stadiums with hundreds of millions of borrowed euros, and now they are all just rotting, unused. Typical Greek planning. That's why that country is so screwed. They have become the welfare case of Europe.
  3. Greece's problems are neither capitalist or socialist. All their problems stem from the fact that everyone wants to work only two hours a day, pay no taxes, and retire at 45 on a full pension. Somehow no one in Greece is capable of doing basic math, otherwise they would see their way of life is unsustainable. When you stop working for a living and just vote for a living you end up like Greece. They never should have been let into the EU.
  4. No love for Brendan Lemieux or Nic Petan?
  5. Given Frolik went to Calgary, Chevy should have traded him for Monahan at the deadline. Chevy sure screwed that one up.
  6. Canada's team signs Canada's oldest player on Canada day.
  7. Jets interested in Belesky?
  8. Less than compensation for an offer sheet? I don't understand this. What does this mean?
  9. And this from a man who uses George Orwell as his avatar. Very passe'- 1984 is long gone. But one trusts....that intelligence, clarity and articulation are not.... The day that I read "all animals are created equally, but some are more equal than others" I knew I would always fight against socialism. That sums up that horrible philosophy perfectly.
  10. And this guy: Donk from Crocodile Dundee.
  11. anyone know how badly Demski is injured? Man it seems every year the NI super-stars that are drafted high get injured in their first game, much like Kito in his first game in his first year, and Coombs last year. I was hoping that Demski would be a bit more durable.
  12. Completely logical to bring back Goltz, he's been there for awhile and he knows the playbook. He can hold a clip-board and look good doing it. http://www.ispot.tv/ad/7Yz1/my-tide-featuring-ed-wagner Apparently Goltz is playing for the NY Giants now...
  13. Reilly is an exciting QB to watch (though he really didn't do much on Saturday!) and it sucks whenever a talented QB in this league goes down. I am waiting to see if Lulay can be effective with his busted shoulder. I am thinking he's going to be another Buck Pierce, one hit and he's done for the year again.
  14. It was Pontbriand. Right at the point of attack too, without that illegal block there may not have been much of a return to regret. Your definition of "point of attack" is certainly different from mine .. Pontbriand was about 10 yards away from the returner when he engaged the Rider player .. really didn't need to touch him at that point as there was already a decent seam for Veltung to hit. Yeah that penalty was completely unnecessary and contributed nothing to the return. Take away that penalty and the right call being made on the Demski safety and this game wouldn't have been nearly as close.
  15. Edmonton and BC should be fighting it out this year for the cellar, and Montreal is trashed. The Bombers, if they can stay healthy, and that O-line can keep dominating, should be looking good for at least a cross-over this year.
  16. CFL News @CFL_News Medical tests confirm extent of QB Mike Reilly’s knee injury. Est. recovery time is approx.10-12 weeks http://bit.ly/1GX2gxc #CFL #Esks
  17. You missed him going offside! I like him on the roster though. Was that him? I thought it was JFG? Maybe both of them went offside during the game. On that TD by Marshall in the 3rd quarter JFG was at least two yards offside but the refs let him get away with it.
  18. Buff and "whatever" for Stamkos. What a fun game.
  19. Why doesn't that guy try and look like an athlete for a change instead of looking like the guys who camp out behind my office in the alley. Like c'mon man!
  20. OK, extreme example to make a generalization from, but fair comment, that is over the top. Can be frustrating to see a fan base take a distinctly Canadian moment and turn it into self-promotion for their own sense of perceived importance. And Bomber fans would never do something that crass. Now let's all sing along to the National anthem - everyone say it with me: "Glorious and free Blue" And while we're at it, during the moment of silence at the Remembrance Day game, let's start the "Let's go Bombers!" chant. Because that's what our fallen soldiers fought for and would want us to do. Hey Migs how's the Kia Forte holding up?
  21. The only time I noticed Bastien was when he was in the endzone watching Moore do his TD dance, and was looking all confused as to what the hell he was supposed to do to join in the celebration.
