I tried at 12:15 pm PST to go on TSN3, 4 and 5 and all three said "not available". I had to go so I set the DVR to TSN1, thinking they would cut away from the crappy basketball game that no one would be watching anyway, as the TSN website said the football game was on TSN1. Why couldn't they show the horse race thingy on TSN2??? So dumb.

Watching "Ballers" on HBO tonight...show about the NFL...first CFL reference was on tonight's show: "he's going to finish his career in Saskatchewan. Have you ever been to Saskatchewan? It ******* blows". Hee hee! And why the hell was the game today not on TSN1? I ended up recording some shitty basketball game instead of the Argo-Rider game.

I watched the video of the kid who was mic'ed up. Looked like Lemieux was owning him in the one on one drills. Too bad about Armia.

New blood always generates excitement for fans as the future potential is unlimited, at least in the fans' minds. I remember how excited the fans were when an 18 year old Dale Hawerchuk showed up in 1981. I also remember how pumped everyone was when Selanne and Tkachuk showed up in the 1990's. Rookies mean hope. Congratulations on making comparisons on two completely different situations and trying to equate Cato's success with what Marve would have done. Montreal out-game-planned Calgary and Hamilton out-game-planned us. That's where the comparisons should end. Marve has the arm strength to complete a pass. Brohm doesn't. That's where the conversation should end.

Yeah I just don't get the Marve hate around here. Like he was supposed to fail, but didn't, and its pissing people off. I have watched Marve now all last year, and in the Toronto pre-season game. This kid needs reps. The talent is there. That being said, I'm not overly upset that he didn't get thrown into the Tiger-Cat den yesterday. The whole O-line seemed to forget how to block for some reason.

Were the CHL kids and the USHL kids kind of keeping to their separate groups? The CHL kids probably all know each other, as well as the USHL kids probably all know each other, but there's no doubt been limited interaction between the two groups. Was Chase Deleo at the camp? He'd kind of be a bridge to both sides, given he played on the US National World Junior team.

That throw by Willy that led to an INT was a wobbler that looked like it slipped out of his hand. Willy must not be ready either...

Yeah throw those two out there (Lemieux and Lowry) with a skill guy like Armia and you might just have dynamite. Love to see them try that combo in training camp.

The intangible with Petan is that he is a real leader/character guy. I saw it when I went to the Kelowna/Portland game here in the playoffs. The whole team looked to Petan for guidance all the time on the ice, he was always directing traffic on the power-play and telling guys where to go. He will be in the game somewhere, if not with Winnipeg then someone else. Stu Barnes 2.0.

Prediction - Hefney makes great play breaking up a pass and then promptly takes a 10 yard penalty for unsportsmanlike.

Yeah I don't mean that I think Lemieux isn't going to be a good player for the Jets, and a potential leader on the ice like his dad was, but I just found his high penalty minutes and plus/minus a bit disconcerting, in that to me it might be a sign of not being disciplined.
