  1. He's wasn't saying "win with some class"? I hear that's great advice too.
  2. The last few Bomber games for me have been like a trip down memory lane. A lot of our wins back in those glory years of the 1980's were exactly like the Toronto game. Our offense usually wasn't ever that over-powering, especially after Clements was done, but it was always good enough to capitalize on the many turnovers generated by our unbelievable defense. The game would look like it was going no where, and then boom, Ty Jones would steam roll over a QB and Stan Mikawos would pick up the ball and start running (see 1984 Grey Cup) or Rod Hill would make a big interception and turn the whole game around. But the key wasn't just creating turnovers, it was having an offense that could capitalize on them and score TD's, not just field goals. Having that killer instinct to make the other team pay. The past few games we have finally gotten that offense. So happy to see it.
  3. All tied up! That Collaros is just amazing.
  4. yeah I have to say that it isn't a coincidence that the offense started playing better once Mr. Bond came on the scene. And that happened with the emergence of Mr. Loffler as our new star safety giving us the roster flexibility. Would Willy be doing as well as Nichols if he had three Internationals starting from day one instead of Pat Neufeld at tackle? That is an interesting question.
  5. that makes sense.
  6. Yikes. If this is what Rider fans actually believe then they are really more delusional than I ever thought. Just ridiculous.
  7. Jones clearly says “Win with some class.” And sources have confirmed that’s exactly what the 48-year-old coach said. http://3downnation.com/2016/08/13/chris-jones-exchanges-words-dave-dickenson-stamps-victory/
  8. Doesn't Willy always wear his helmet on the sidelines?
  9. Well that's just because they don't understand the CFL ratio rules like this guy.
  10. yup and I still remember the "Oh no I'm going to die" look on Willy's face when Thomas came into the game at guard...
  11. is Logan Stanley going back to junior? Or will he stick with the Moose?
  12. Milt miracle #2 coming up?
  13. wow Toronto has five Nationals on their OL. How did they pull that off? Gives them a lot of roster flexibility on defense.
  14. Orridge has his salary covered now for the year at least. Good to see the circus has finally left town and moved west to the armpit of Canada.
  15. Taylor Ruck with another medal!
  16. This almost has a feel of pro wrestling to it, calling out the panel and the panel responding. And when I say pro wrestling, I mean that this feels almost manufactured.
  17. Apparently Burris continued ranting after the game about the TSN panel. I can't find what he said. Is it available anywhere?
  18. I'll narrow that down even more - Manitoba women are the best. When I was in Mexico on a Bust loose trip while still in University, the contingent of Manitoba girls there could out-drink all the other women and most of the men from the rest of Canada. They were a pretty tough bunch who could out-party anybody.
  19. I think drinking is part of all of their favorite sports, rather than a separate sport. You can't have soccer hooliganism without excessive drunken-ness.
  20. Second favorite sport is soccer hooliganism. Rugby and darts are next.
  21. Barry Melrose too - big time broadcaster now for LA. He played in Winnipeg for a few years, and broke his jaw if memory serves. He came out to speak at one of our hockey team banquets one year, which was really cool. I remember being disappointed only because we had heard that Dave Christian was coming out and we were all ga-ga over the US Olympic team knocking off the Russians for the gold in 1980.
  22. i remember in the 1980's the Jets had their "Goals for Kids" program where local businesses would contribute a certain amount of money to kids charities for every goal scored by a certain player. Mario Marois was sponsored by Fancy Ass jeans. I still remember the look on his face when he had to go up and shake their hands at the press conference, the look on his face of WTF kind of name is that was priceless.
  23. he wasn't unconscious? I don't think there's enough evidence to judge either way.
  24. ha I just met Fran Huck last year at a winery opening, he's a lawyer here now. I must admit though I had heard of him, I had a "young guy" moment like some here are having about the 1980's Jets and didn't fully appreciate it. I told an older guy I knew from Winnipeg that Fran Huck was at the opening and he just about fell over, he was so excited to run over and meet him.
