  1. I still remember when Joe Poplawski had to step in for an injured Trevor Kennard. Joe "the Toe" Poplawski was perfect that day, not sure how many he kicked though.
  2. I'd want to keep starting 3 NI on the OL, plus Harris and Kohlert on O means that with Westerman and Shologan (with Corney and Thomas backing up) means we can go all import DB's and LB's, which is smokin'.
  3. LOL - yeah if he's on payroll deduction he'd be getting negative paychecks. Like my niece who works at the Bay and buys more cosmetics than she gets paid.
  4. Read his book last year. He sounded like he was ready to go. His wife was gone, his kids grown, and his memory going due to Alzheimers. He was one heck of a great guy. I strongly recommend everyone read his book. Interesting fact - his first ever pro camp was in Winnipeg, with the New York Rangers. They gave him a full set of gear to wear and he had to sit and watch everyone else put their gear on, as he had no idea what most of it was, as he had never had a full set in his entire life. If you read the conditions in which he grew up, it is hard to believe it was Canada. But that's what made him so tough.
  5. Glad you enjoyed it. It's called "good natured ribbing". Of course the Riders aren't going to go 0-18. Like duh.
  6. Milt kept saying that the Als D co-ordinator doesn't actually want to be there. What was he talking about?
  7. I'll have to wear my Jets jersey under my Bomber jersey.
  8. that's really cool. Thanks for sharing.
  9. the year still depends on the health of Drew Willy. Matt Nichols just doesn't have what it takes to be a starter.
  10. watching Pederson and the rest of the Rider "media" try to spin it as a positive will be even more delightful.
  11. You can't type this unless you are wearing a hat signed by Tom Landry.
  12. give us your address and we'll mail you some soap.
  13. if you are talking about Kyle Walters its inevitable.
  14. Does this mean that they actually went to a Taylor Swift concert or is this one of those new hip innuendos that I don't get like "Netflix and chill"?
  15. Are there going to be any games this year in which Sask doesn't lose in a blow-out?
  16. One thing I noticed (and maybe this was the Crown talking) last night was how much more confident O'Shea looks on the sidelines now with Lapo in there running the offense and being involved. Bellfool would just stand there with his head-set on and it never looked like he was really doing much actual coaching. Lapo was all over the place getting in the ears of the offense and showing them stuff on his Ipad. O'Shea just looked, I don't know if this is the right word, but "relieved" in a sense. He's finally got some veteran experience on the sidelines to help him out. I think they will make a great team.
  17. man with that hair you could make a living just playing bass guitar in 80's cover bands. Well, not a great living, but a living anyway.
  18. yes this is definitely the strongest back-ups I've seen on the field in a long time. Kudos to Kyle. Good job guys.
  19. Also - through the haze of Crown Royal I thought I heard Duane Ford say that the Bombers have no Canadian RB depth behind Harris. What about Lochard? Was he even playing last night?
  20. I will be very sad if they give Butcher the heave-ho. He's going to be a fan favorite, no doubt about it.
  21. I liked the cut of that #33's gib. I think he's got some moxie. I hope the coaching staff gives him a chance.
  22. yes he did not look out of place. I think I heard a cheer go up on his first reception, kind of like the cheer that went up when Jade Etienne caught his first pass. Kris Bastien I think is P/R at best now.
  23. I hope Flanders makes it just so that the fans can do "Flanders" chants all year.
  24. Duane Ford kept talking about the Man Mountain Rupert Butcher. That guy is just massive. Loved watching him bull rush and take on two line men, forcing a hold on one play as he was so dominant. Butcher and Bennett, my two pleasant surprises last night.
