  1. Because you're pretending you know what he is saying behind closed doors. (I can't believe I had to type that.... thought it was obvious)
  2. I think we can all agree that MOS lies to reporters. My stance? I don't know what goes on behind closed doors and I don't pretend that I do.
  3. This isn't about selling houses, but cuz you asked. Sure, sometimes folks find out they can't afford what they want or that their current house isn't going to net them what they want and decide not to sell. That doesn't change the fact that they no longer want to be in their current house. There is a point in firing someone or not giving that person 3 more years who is just 'doing pretty well'. The point being that 'doing pretty well' shouldn't be good enough any more. It was when we first hired MOS because pretty well was better than stinking out the joint. Maybe you're OK with mediocrity or are scared to try something new when we have a top 4 team. That's fine as long as you don't complain about the results we get. The idea that the only thing that can happen if we fire MOS is getting worse is flawed. Folks who want consistency bring up stupid hires like Burke or Kelly and ignore that we could also make a good hire... A guy who takes us to the next level. Folks want to talk about specifics right now to get the conversation off of MOS's post season failure and on to 'that guy wouldn't be any better' because there is no proof that anyone would be better or worse. There is also no proof that keeping MOS will lead to better results. Khari was given Montreal's HC job late and has turned the team around in a single year. Dickenson, another late HC 'choice' has the Riders tied for 1st place. Neither of them were top choices for HC's. Just right place at the right time. Both are examples of change being good for their respective teams and the Riders are a good example of a good team not getting worse by hiring a new HC. Rick Campbell in Ottawa is an example of consistency not always equalling good results.
  4. No, Collaros isn't awesome, but he's way better than Bridge. Yes, I'd hate him if he was a Bomber, mostly because he can't stay healthy.
  5. That's your 'evidence' that MOS is a hard ass behind the scenes? LOL
  6. For the same reason that some people think that MOS is different behind closed doors without being there themselves. Neither side KNOWS, but both sides BELIEVE they do.
  7. You sure he'd have won if the Riders didn't lose their starting QB the week before and had to use Brandon Bridge? Anyway, we aren't playing that team this week. We're playing a team that's got it's starting QB and is much better at home than they are on the road. That's a horrible comparison that has nothing to do with our coaching situation. Most people sell their houses before they buy a new one because they want/need to get rid of the old one before they can move forward. Very few people decide to sell only after they've found a new home. They don't even start looking until they've decided it's time to move in the first place. The first question is do we want to keep MOS or move on? If the answer is move on, then you don't re-sign him and you start looking for his replacement. MOS will want a 3 year contract. If we don't win a playoff game this year, do you want MOS for 3 more years? The management SMS means we won't be able to replace him once we've signed him. There are no guarantees that whoever we replace MOS with will be better than him or worse or about the same. The only guarantee is that he will be different.
  8. I remember their walk off FG the week before in their barn, which is where we're playing this week.
  9. Consistency has got us 1 playoff win in 5 years. Canning MOS, and I'm not saying we should or shouldn't, doesn't mean going back to horrible teams. A different HC might be what we need to get this team over the hump in the playoffs. Not knowing who the new HC would be is no reason to keep the current HC.
  10. The play call wasn't the problem. If Pipkin just gets the ball and falls forward, they get the first down and the win. The problem was the exchange of the snap, which should have been automatic.
  11. I actually didn't mind the call. They only needed 1 yard for a first down, 2 for a TD. They'd been running the ball down BC's throat all game long. If they score the FG, they give the ball back to BC with a minute left to score a FG and they know something about coming back in the last minute of games. The execution of the play was horrible though.
  12. I was a big Hefney fan when he played for us. That has nothing to do with choosing to sell drugs or using them for that matter and yes.. you and many others are making excuses for him. Popularity, who brought it in, who profits from it and how much over the limit he sold aren't the issues. Legality is the issue. Hefney knew it was illegal and should have known that he could get 9 years or more for selling cocaine. He did it anyway. That's on him.
  13. Why does it matter how much money he made or didn't make? Dude chose to sell drugs. Got caught. Will do his time. Similar story daily in the US. The only reason we're hearing about it is because he played football in the CFL.
  14. Agree to disagree. We did pass and got a PI on it in the last set of downs. I didn't like the run up the gut but, a pick or a sack gives them the ball closer to our end zone. An incomplete pass stops the clock without them using a time out. I'm not looking at the stats for the whole game or for the first half. I'm saying that expecting your defence to stop the other team from getting a TD and a convert, with a minute on the clock from 90+ yards away is the right call.
  15. Losing isn't proof that the call was wrong. It's proof that the defence didn't do their job. Calling a time out when you want to drain the clock is the opposite of what MOS should do. The Argo game and the Als game were the same. Big leads lost. The LDC was just a walk off FG after a drive, not a complete collapse. This wasn't a normal loss. It was the first time in Bomber history that we lost a game when we were up by 24 points. Worst collapse ever. That's what pisses me off. It shouldn't have happened.
  16. If Medlock kicks the 53 yarder, the last drive is irrelevant. If MOS decides to pin Montreal deep instead of going for the 53 yarder, the last drive is likely irrelevant. If the defence doesn't allow a 60 yard pass and run play in the last minute, the last drive is irrelevant. I'm saying that in the situation we were in, MOS made the right call to run. I'd have run a sweep to burn a few more seconds and to get outside the box, but that's the only change I'd have made to the call.
  17. The offence puts up 428 yards, 31 points, and wins TOP by 5 minutes. The defence gives up 528 yards, a 60 yard pass and run in the last minute of the game and a TD with seconds left on the clock. Fans blame the offence for not getting 1 more first down to seal the win. I'm not a MOS fan, but he was right. Run the ball. Keep the clock running. Kick deep. Rely on your defence to stop Montreal from scoring a TD and a convert to win the game with just over a minute left from 90ish yards away.
  18. We're 4-4 in our last 8. We win at home and lose on the road. Gotta get a home playoff game. Hopefully 1st in the west.
  19. OMG! What next? Receivers saying they're open all the time? LOL.
  20. Can't read eh? What a moroon
  21. Streveler's throwing for almost as many yards as Nichols was AND he's moving the sticks with his legs, which Nichols just can't do. Streveler has upside. Nichols doesn't.
  22. That would be 1962 - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Winnipeg_Blue_Bombers_seasons
  23. It's been a very long time since were ended the season first in the West (1972), so just reaching that mark is a very good thing. Considering the way we've played this year, it should be our expectation to finish first in the west, win the playoff game and get to the Grey Cup. Anything less than that would be a major disappointment IMO.
  24. Why would Ottawa pay a 1st rounder for Nichols when he'll be a FA?
  25. Streveler - Getting better every game Augustine - Not going to make anyone forget about Harris, but give the kid his due Grant - That TD broke the Riders back HH - PLAP managed to keep the offence going without Harris, Nichols, Whitehead and Demski.
