  1. Franklin's worth more to the Argos than a 4th round pick. He's either #1 or #2 on the depth chart. Getting a 4th rounder doesn't help the Argos now or in the future.
  2. Which is it? Wouldn't want to stay on the IR or wouldn't want to play behind that OL? It can't be both. 😎 Franklin was 'the' next big QB a couple of years back. He beat Nichols out in Edmonton, which is why we got Nichols for so cheap. I don't think Franklin's fallen to the #3 spot on the depth chart in Toronto, despite TSN saying all those nice things about MBT. In fact, I'd guess he's still number 1 unless Collaros decides to put his future on the line for one more kick at being a starting QB again. I agree that no one will offer that much for Franklin, so I think he stays where he is. I can't imagine Toronto giving him away for a box of tape and a 4th round pick, even if there's a chance of it moving up to a 1st rounder based on playing time.
  3. The Eskies started planning to play against Steveler the minute they saw Nichols point to his throwing arm when he came off the field.
  4. Just leave Franklin on the IR if they have SMS issues. Same place that they'll likely leave Collaros for a while. The do need assets to rebuild, but a 4th or 5th round pick isn't much of an asset. Being a garbage fire and out of the playoff picture is no reason to give a QB with upside away for little or nothing. If we offered them a starter and a 1st rounder like we got for Willy, then they'd likely take it but that's more than I'd give up for Franklin.
  5. Why would Toronto take that deal? To help us out? Nope.. it would take a lot more than that to get Franklin especially since we just lost our starting QB.
  6. Mr. Streveler, your opportunity is now. Make the most of the month or more you have to show that you have what it takes to be a starting CFL QB.
  7. Bob Irving @BobIrvingCJOB Matt Nichols is on the field watching practice. Arm hanging loose at his side. Which does not mean the injury is any less serious. Oshea will share more after practice.
  8. Bridge is the best of a very bad group. He can at least run around if needed. Doesn't really matter who we bring in. The season's gone if Streveler can't get the job done.
  9. It's mid season so we still have a chance. It's not like a QB getting injured a week before Grey Cup. (Still too soon?)
  10. I doubt they contact Glenn if Nichols was only going to be down for 5-6 weeks. It'd take Glenn 2 or 3 weeks just to understand the offence and get back into playing shape.
  11. If they already reached out to Glenn... It's not just a couple of games for Nichols.
  12. FWIW: Bob Irving @BobIrvingCJOB· 14h Chris Streveler, who will be quarterbacking the Bombers for a while, was 1-3 in 4 starts for the Bombers last year but he threw 8 td passes and only 2 interceptions. What a challenging start he’ll have in Ed. Vs the ferocious Eskimo defence next Friday.
  13. If Nichols is out long term, I'd go with 2 QB's. Going to have to do that next year anyway.
  14. The team can carry Streveler the same way they carry Nichols when he's having a bad game.
  15. I don't think Streveler could have thrown the ball away even if he tried. It was eat it or throw it and Streveler made the wrong decision. That being said, 1 pass doesn't define a QB.
  16. Now you've jinxed them. 🤣
  17. BC does suck this year. They are a tire fire. Reilly hasn't been all that mobile this year anyway, but the injury will reduce his mobility even more. The only shot BC has is to beat us long a few times for TD's AND to limit Harris' YAC yards. I doubt they can do both.
  18. Toronto is a bottom team with a crap defence. Same goes for BC. Ottawa has the worst yards against in the league.
  19. First time. It's more likely it's because Neufeld isn't able to even practice yet.
  20. Exactly what everyone told me in the off season. Now they want to say it's a stupid opinion.
  21. Changing out coaching staffs and huge portions of teams is way more disruptive than changing out 3 OL who already know the system.
  22. In part the offence is trending down because: We were ahead of most teams at the beginning of they year because we didn't have as many changes to make. They've caught up now. It's way easier to score against the bottom teams in the league than it is against top half teams like Calgary. We got a few huge plays early in games that put us way out in front. Nichols is streaky and when things go well he usually plays well.
  23. 'If we' and 'what if' are the same thing. You know that when folks bring up 'what ifs' that aren't Bomber positive.
  24. Or, you could admit that what if's aren't real arguments.
  25. This week or last week or the week before... it's the same 'argument'. It's a moot point. The only difference is the tense of the statement.
