Gotta say this doesn't shock me because they didn't let anyone know what the plan was for this year. Sucks for everyone if they can't get a season in, but the pandemic takes precedence over everything. Canada can't have 4 super spreader events a week. Maybe rapid testing at the door is an answer. Maybe only people who have been vaccinated (Vaccination cards?). Maybe 25% occupancy and masks for social distancing. Maybe all of the above.

Grey Cup champs, but not a dominant team during the regular season.... Now lock it.
-
You obviously don't understand what dominant means. We didn't dominate Regina. They were one or two plays away from beating us at the end of the game. They also shot themselves in the foot by putting their backup QB in to try to get a TD and failed horribly. Those plays was their mistakes, not our dominance. I'll give you Calgary and Hamilton in the playoffs, but we weren't a dominant team in the '19 regular season. We were average. I never said we lucked into anything. There's a ton of room between dominant and lucked in.

One game doesn't make you a dominant team overall. It means you were dominant on the day.
-
Dominant teams don't come in 3rd. They get a home game and win in front of their own fans. If we were weak at QB, then we weren't dominant. IMO the one dominant team in '19 was Hamilton and we dominated them in the GC.
-
I'd think that Hamilton will be favorites this year. Their QB situation is the best in the league by far. We weren't a dominant team in '19. We had a great playoff season to win us the cup. Much like the way Calgary beat us all those years ago when they came from 3rd in the West.

I'm a noted negatron who desperately wants to see the CFL this year.

I wasn't happy with any of them when they were hired. Gotta say I was wrong about Miller and Walters. Still think that MOS is an average HC.
-
Even Toronto disses Nichols. Haven't they looked at his stats that one year when he looked competent? Queue Less Nessman... Oh the humanity!
-
We got a box of tape instead of nothing for Speller. It's a nothing trade IMO.
-
Maybe 5 years ago, but going forward? Yikes!
-
Adams, Faj-JJ, Nichols.
-
The 2017 to 2019 comparison is cherry picking Nichols best year to Faj-JJ's 4th year in the league, first year as a starter. I don't think Faj-JJ is worth anywhere near $500K, but he's a young starter on his way up, not a beat up old QB who can't stay healthy. Lets see how he does next year before we call him a one or two trick pony.
-
Nah! I'm living rent free in your head and have been for years.
-
Not true, based on the comment you just made.
-
That and the deep rail shots that Collaros completed at a high rate while Nichols' just missed' most of the time.
-
We had the choice of signing Nichols or Collaros and chose Collaros despite the obvious injury issues. Why? Because the offense looked way better being run by Collaros. Quite frankly, Streveler would have won most of the games that Nichols won in the last 2 years and Streveler's not even a true starting QB yet. As I always point out wins are not a QB only stat.

Paddy's back. I hope we got him for a good price ($125Kish). 68 starts in 9 years (162 regular season games) doesn't impress me much.
-
Last year they went all in with Collaros and ended up having to go with Fajardo.
-
Great to have Harris back.
-
So 1 full 18 game season as a starter.

GP is games played, not games started. Backups can have 18 GP's and no starts at all. Last year Neuf had 6 GP's, which is one third of the season. I'm not sure how many starts. He didn't play until we had OL injuries. You call that the furthest thing from a backup. I disagree. 2017 and 2018 are the only 2 years in Neuf's entire 9 year career that he had 18 GP's and he wasn't the starter for all of those games. The only way I can think of to figure out how many starts he had would be to pull every game day lineup. Anyone know of a better way to find out how many starts Neuf had each year? Being as he has 3, 8, 7 and 6 GP's in 4 of those years, I'd guess he's started way less than half the available games in his career. I'd also guess that about half of the GP's in '17 and '18 were as a backup, not a starter. For the above reasons, I'll continue to call him a part time/backup player and I'll stick with my contention that paying him 200Kish is too much, no matter how well he plays when he does start. FTR: It's not about Neuf in particular. I wouldn't pay any part time/backup 200Kish.
-
I didn't cherry pick anything. I checked with CFL.CA to see if I was miss-remembering last year. It says 6 games. IIRC he didn't start until we had injuries on the OL. He didn't start 18 games in either of the 2 years before that, making him a backup those years.
-
Neuf played 6 games last year. A part time player doesn't deserve $200K IMO.
-
Neuf's always been expensive, especially for a guy who is basically a backup/part timer. I'd save the SMS $. I could see Medlock retiring and I'd miss him, but life goes on. Newbie would be way less $ and the DI spot would help us. Harris is one of the best, if not THE best RB in the league. His passport makes him way more expensive than other RB's. If he doesn't want to take a pay cut like the most players are doing, then he can leave and get paid elsewhere. He's old and we'd save a lot of SMS there, but I doubt we'd be able to find any other NI who is at his level. I hope we keep him and I hope he takes a pay cut.
